I’m not from Utah, but I will tell you that I came here TWICE in a week for their Patty Melt. Perhaps beef is terrible in California in comparison to Utah(most likely true), but MYGOD the Burger and Patty Melt are amazingly well prepared. I came here for Sundance, and stopped through Salt Lake on my way to and from the airport, and I was very happy I did. The drinks are excellent as well, and they have an excellent selection of creative cocktails. Honestly can’t wait til I have to return to Park City again just so I can stop through here. YUM!

Take the extra steps down from copper onion. This place was awesome-same owner but different vibe. Way less packed and cool environment. Great food and crafty drinks. Bartender made us special drinks that we loved. I will definitely tell friends to go there and go again when we are in town.

5 stars for the Cocktails. Every thing that Matt made for us the other night was fantastic. With well balanced flavors and excellent construction just go in and pick what you like the original cocktail menu is the way to go. I only had a few apps so I don’t feel qualified to pass judgment on the kitchen but what I had I enjoyed, but this was a trip for drinks.

Copper Common has really gone downhill. Food: I will start with the biggest issue, they removed the lobster spaghetti. This was by far the best item, not just in my opinion, but I have talked to quite a few people who were sad about this. Aside from this we went on a Sunday night and the food was 3⁄5. The queso was warm at best, the fries were okay, the avocado toast was still great, bacon wrapped dates were also great. Service: 2/5, Slow, kept forgetting place settings, water… nothing terrible just your standard bad service. Ambiance: It was quite on a Sunday, but still a great late night spot for drinks and a light meal. Summary: I hope they improve their constancy and bring back the lobster spaghetti. TIPS: Order the avocado toast TIPS: Order Bacon wrapped dates TIPS: Parking structure next door open to public.

Blame my uncertainty on my absinthe mindedness but I believe it was Dante Alighieri who said the hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in times of great moral crisis, maintain their neutrality. In fear of retribution from the gods of guzzling I must declare in these days of waning craftsmanship that you can still get a crafted cocktail among this coterie of connoisseurs centered at copper common. This place serves everything from meticulous mezcal mixtures to the proletariat blue ribbon pabst but if you are going to drink at a beer hall that is more dark boîte than gin mill and quite obviously a homage to Thomas Edison why not enlighten yourself and order something shockingly electric. Of course, Edison never partook publicly of the fearful fluid he was too busy electrocuting elephants so I say unto you avoid the elephant in the room(Utah’s Liquor Laws) and drink like Tesla!

Excellent service! Came after watching a Sundance film at the Broadway theatre. I was on a date with my husband and we wanted to grab a drink and some appetizers. We sat at the bar and ordered the chicken croquettes and Queso con Chile. The light dim lights and soft music makes the space feel romantic. We were able to discuss the movie. Food: The croquettes were light and crisp. The queso had a good taste. I do wish it was a nice bit spicier… The bartender/mixologist was super friendly. We discussed different whiskey/bourbon options. It was the best romantic post-movie option.

My favorite little gem in SLC. Copper Commons has the best cocktails, burger, small plates, wine on draft(dreams do come true) and staff in town. This place is really great if you want to escape crowded stereotypical bars. The atmosphere is perfect and they have an incredible selection of spirits with knowledgeable bartenders. They frequently have live music and a beautiful patio. I truly believe their menu is the best kept secret. Deviled eggs-on point. Burger-perfection. Arugula Salad– the freshest. Patty Melt-there are no words. I’m surprised by reviews regarding waits or the staff. I’ve always had a pleasant experience, when it’s crowded head up to the bar, when it’s slow snag a seat with a group. 5 stars all around to Copper Common. I will eventually add a picture of the food, I just always finish it before remembering to take a photo!

With my undying love for Copper Onion, I had to give this place a try, and I was very happy I did. They have a smaller version of the menu at Copper Common, but you can still get the incredible cheeseburger here so all is perfect. They also have an avocado toast that is delicious and there was once a special that was ceviche on top of avocado toast. I wish that was a regular thing on their menu, so so good. This place also has yummy cocktails, it’s a really fun spot in SLC.

4 stars for the drinks and wine selection. Both are not varied but hit the spot. Service is awful. Don’t expect to be greeted kindly or even«served»… Not that I want to be served BUT i do go to a restaurant so that someone else can bring me my food/drinks etc. I think they took those idea very liberally and kind of expect you to do most of the work… Bar tenders were great though! Medjool stuffed dates were quite good, all the salads were great. Nothing spectacular, but satisfying for the price. Great ambiance, amazing drinks, satisfying food(simple well made popular tapas and American dishes). I would definitely come back. Not so much for dinner but for drinks and some grub.

I have to tell you, I eat here every time I am in SLC. The food is amazingly fresh, the bartenders are knowledgeable and the Bar Manager has a tight control over customer service. Thanks so much from a long term customer.

We came late, around 11pm on a Saturday. There wasn’t that much people. The bar was ¾ full and the rest of the place was empty. We sat down at a table and waited 10 minutes for a server to come. We had to get our own napkins and menus. We finally flagged down a worker after having sat down for so long without any greetings whatsoever. He told us to order at the bar. So we did. It took the server another 15 minutes to even take our orders. We waited for another 20 minutes for the food. I had the shrimp spaghetti, which was good. The best thing I tried at this place. My friends said they tried a couple of the other dishes and this was the best so if you go here, get this. I also had the tater tots with aioli, which was weird but the aioli was good. The tots were big so it was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I prefer the regular tots though. I don’t understand why this place has such bad service. I must have been insane but I tipped anyways because I think it’s rude not to tip at American places.

If they have a club license, the cocktails better be front and center. i came here on a Tuesday night with my son. The wives were at the Celtic Women concert. We went drinking. This was our last stop of the evening. OK, we only went to two places. Matt Pfohl waited on us at the bar. I didn’t know him except by his reputation. However, when mentioning a friend we had in common, he perked up, introduced himself. I knew who he was. It just wasn’t where I would expect to find him. A big win to Copper Commons, a loss Anyway, he made us a fine drink. We had a nice visit. That’s the joy of going out on a weeknight. The place was pleasantly filled with people providing ambiance, not no annoying large crowds like the weekend. The place is outfitted exactly like a good bar should be. Classic, darkish, well appointed, and filled with staff who know what they are doing. I’ll look forward to coming back and getting some food.

Oh man, this place… It’s got everything I live for. SQUARETATERTOTS, CUTEBARTENDERS, DELICIOUSDRINKS, and ADORABLEBATHROOMS. I didn’t eat a lot at this restaurant but I ordered the tots with garlic aoili. Not only were they delicious but they were CUBES. I don’t know why it blew me away BUTITDID. They were super fresh and hot, and the aoili was flavorful as hell. LETMETALKABOUTTHEDRINKSFOR A SEC. The suggested cocktails are pretty delicious, and generally deserve about 4 stars. But then, the super adorable bartender just decided to whip us up some drinks that he was experimenting on, and made me a drink that made me rethink if I truly hate bourbon or not. He was incredible. Friendly, talented, and quick. If there is a Guinness record for falling in love with the most bartenders, I would definitely win that award. I want to come back to this place. The ambience was super relaxed and sort of intimate. I loved the dark lighting, with backlighting on the bottles and in certain areas of the bar. I just love this place a lot, ok.

I’m always impressed with the Copper Common. I’ve never had a bad dish or cocktail that I didn’t enjoy. They take pride in the ingredients they use, and you can just tell everything is made with great care to showcase excellent quality that is often overlooked at other establishments. My visits here aren’t as often as I’d like because I’m a poor college student, but I was happy to treat one of my good friends here just the other day. It was pretty empty at 5pm on Thursday, but was completely full by the time I left at around 7. They changed their menu since my last visit, but everything still sounded great. I can’t recall the names of the drinks I had but they were all wonderful. I loved the tuna tartare, especially since it wasn’t drowning in sauce like other places. It tasted very clean and fresh and each ingredient was easily distinguishable. The oysters were also delicious, but I don’t think they do happy hour any longer which was a small disappointment. Oh well, I’m still a fan!

Many of the people in this place look like they are from an episode of Portlandia. Chill out hipster beard growing guy and the chick with the«put a bird on it» purse. If you could put these turds in a wood chipper it would make this place a litter nicer. Or actually, if the tables weren’t so jammed together I wouldn’t have to hear every single detail about the new typewriter that was just upsourced from the DI. Onto the food. Small plates are all the rage now and I like it. Food choices don’t change very often here and after the third times I had been here I was bored with it. There are very few healthy eats as well. SLC is going through comfort food phase and like its clientele this food is trendy at best. That isn’t a jab but there are a few other places in town in which the menu is about the same(pallet, copper onion, bodega, table) To top the evening off I got to see I crew of fixie riding hipsters opt out of riding in the newly placed bike lanes on Broadway. These rebel badasses road in the car lane. Way to stick it to the MAN.

This review is hovering between three and four stars. A friend and I stopped in before a movie at the Broadway and we were seated fairly quickly for a relatively busy evening. I don’t recall the names of the drinks we got but they were decent. Nothing really stood out too much but they were refreshing. We ordered the tots and deviled eggs as an appetizer and shared the patty melt. The tots were not your run of the mill frozen tots. They were plump and the garlic aioli was good. The patty melt was moist and the side of fries were well-cooked. Nice and crispy. But let’s talk about that order of deviled eggs. First, when you say«deviled eggS» I’d expect multiple eggs. Nope. One egg. One measly egg. Maybe it was two halves of two different eggs. At $ 4, I would at the very least, expect the most amazing deviled egg of my life. Nope. Standard. It wasn’t terrible by any means but it tasted like any of the deviled eggs I’ve had at a home BBQ. Despite the lackluster egg, I’d like to give Copper Common another chance and try the oysters.

I think this bar is connected with Copper Onion. It is just right next door. The atmosphere is quite similar. We went straight here after our dinner at Copper Onion. Took a look at the food menu and was instantly disappointed that we didn’t decide to eat here instead. The menu looked promising. It’s a cute small bar with not much lighting. Very dim and intimate. It had a outside patio. We decided to seat ourselves outside. It was a nice temperature out and decided to take advantage if it. Specialty cocktails were reasonably priced. They made me a special drink kind of like a Moscow mule made with bourbon. It was really good. the beau got a drink called The Fourth Regiment. It was pretty strong. Probably the strongest drink I’ve tried in Salt Lake City. But it came in a pretty small glass. Overall a pretty chill bar for a very chill night.

Maybe it’s my fault that I read some not so favorable reviews before going here. Did I just have it in my head that the service was going to be lame and the prices high? A self-fulfilling Unilocal prophesy? Most indeed, but the food was good. My girlfriend and I stopped by late on a Tuesday night after shopping at City Creek. The inside was empty because everyone was on the patio for the outdoor seating. Our seats outside were very awkward and uncomfortable. But we were outside on this beautiful summer eve, cigarette smoke be damned. I did however order the most refreshing and delicious cocktail… Pimm’s Italiano. Replete with cucumber, ginger, and mint. It tasted like summer. I loved this cocktail. We wanted some bites to share. We ordered the Lardo with Walnuts($ 7) and drizzled with honey as a starter. I had high hopes for this thinly sliced decadent pork fat. It didn’t melt on my tongue as I expected and it was missing that salty umami experience I thought it deserved. Worth a try, but my friend would disagree and thought it was weird and gross. We split the patty melt and some fries($ 13). Even though the server said it was hard to split. Amazing what a knife can do to cut a sandwich in half. The burger was very good and the meat was excellent quality and cooked to perfection. The fries are also very good, and appeared hand cut and freshly made. We also got a side of oyster mushrooms with herbs($ 7), although there was not much herbage going on here. The mushrooms were simple and delicious. All in all, the experience was slightly disappointing due to a hipster vibe where the waitress seem bothered by my sheer existence. The food was good and the cocktail I tried was amazing. I do love the Copper Onion and had great food at the old Plum Alley. I would come back for the Pimm’s Italiano.
