Finally SLC. Finally finally finally a place where people are treated right. I am not from salt lake and when I first came I tried getting my fixed gear worked on, people would either make little comments about riding no brakes or whatever they would say. This place is exactly what SLC needs and the people inside are even better. Talk about customer service and setting a standard to all the other bike shops. Please take notes all other bike shops. Even if someone is different and rides the non typical bike, don’t look at them weird. I don’t roll around talking s@$t about a mountain bike. Haha. Anyway, please check this place out. Authentic and genuine people that ride. This place is no joke and they have my business from now on. Also they have great products and more for city riders than anyone else. Need a jersey to look sponsored, look somewhere else. Haha. This place is for city riders and I’m glad to finally have an actual city bike shop.

I had neglected maintenance on my commuter bike for far too long. When I started to look around SLC for a shop, Crank SLC seemed to be the obvious choice. 1.) Their shop prices were the lowest I found in the downtown area. 2.) I’m very particular as to what sort of bike shop I will readily spend my money in. Bike shops, for whatever reason, too often come with a nose-in-the-air elitist attitude that always makes me loose immediate trust in the service I might potentially receive from them. When I walk into a shop and, because my bike ins’t work $ 6,000, feel like they aren’t going to take time and care with it I obviously have my reservations. Since having my first couple experiences, Crank SLC is the first in a long time that I don’t have any reservations about. The owners are very friendly and the staff is knowledgeable and genuine, and the space is very cool. They are a bit of a niche shop. I don’t know that they are the shop that I will have overhaul my downhill bike(although, I’m sure they could), or the shop that you will have build you a custom spec road racer. I am sure, though, that those of us who rely on bicycles in our everyday life, whether you are a commuter, messenger, or enthusiast; this is where we should all be spending our money. Thank you, Crank SLC.

Amazing service! My front bike tire got stolen and after being quoted $ 80-$ 100 elsewhere I decided to come to crank. Juliet was the best and had my bike wheel replaced and everything good to go in less than 24 hours. The price? $ 50! Completely reasonable, would highly recommend for anyone looking for a bargain or to splurge a little on their bike needs. The shop has a great, laid back feel plus theres an awesome mural on the side of the building :) check it out!

Based on a single tire and tube replacement experience I say: Aloof if honest service and very modest pricing make this a bike shop I’d definitely revisit. I know bikes are cool now, but I think some places let it go to their head. We used to say«he’s a cool dude,» which was synonomous with relaxed and easy to get along with. Now, cool means hip which mostly means better than you. Ok, I can dig it, but how about a chair to sit on while I wait? I know each and every bike and piece of gear is like a mini Mona Lisa perched for maximum effect in the store, but even the Louvre has places to sit. I was standing around the front for 15+ mins which got old real quick. They let my dog inside on the other hand, which was appreciated. A tube and tire replacement ran around $ 35, which wad a lot less than I had expected. My tire has lightning bolts on it unfortunately, but at $ 25 I am loathe to complain. They accept every card but AMEX, and only deal in street bikes and cruisers.

I just purchased a bike from Crank, Juliet was very helpful and it was a great experience. They had the best combination of price and style when compared to the other shops in SLC. I would definitely shop there again for another bike and recommend it to anyone looking for an urban ride.

I’ve owned a number of bikes throughout the years. When I was younger I had various BMX style bikes and grew accustomed to single gear riding. Over time I switched over to geared mountain bikes and enjoyed riding on and off road. While I did enjoy it, the biggest complaint I had with the geared bikes was all of the maintenance associated with them and all of the extra parts that can break or need adjusting. My frustration was solidified when I bought a used 21 speed a few years ago and had immediate issues with it. Gears slipping, older parts not performing well, etc. I also wasn’t familiar with getting sized for a bike and ended up getting a size too big. I ended up selling the bike within a few weeks needless to say. I have been getting the urge to get a bike and ride again, and have noticed the growing trend with single/fixed gear bikes and decided to do a little research before passing it off as a fad. I was surprised at how passionate people are about riding such a simple bike. I liked the idea of having a bike with the least amount of parts, stripped down to just me and my legs powering the bike, and the idea of lower maintenance and much lower cost up front to make the purchase. I tend to get over hobbies/lifestyle changes pretty quick if it gets too involved or high maintenance so after some research I was completely sold on the idea of going with a single speed bike. I found Crank SLC online and found they were really one of the only shops around that specialize in single speed bikes so I stopped in early in the week to start exploring options, as I was going to be making a bike purchase by Saturday. I rode a few bikes and the staff was really knowledgable, attentive and helpful and best of all unpretentious. On Saturday my wife and I went to a few bike shops and tried out bikes as she was also shopping for a new bike. At one of the shops the guy asked me if I was bike shopping too and I said yes. He asked what for and I said single speed and his eyes rolled. They actually carried a few there, but all he did was try and talk me out of it. He convinced me to try one of his geared hybrids and I just wasn’t as comfortable on it. I decided to come back to Crank SLC and try a single speed out again after trying the hybrid. There was no comparison in my mind, the Single speed felt so much more fluid and I felt more connected to the bike. Once again the staff was so awesome, let me ride all the bikes and even let me ride their own personal bike since they didn’t have that size in the showroom! I decided to go with the Loki Cycle, their own personal brand bike. I pick it up on Monday and I’m so excited! Support local business and improve our air quality as well!

Crank SLC takes care of me. I bought my bike from them and they have been there ever since. The only commuter bike store around and they do it right
