I have experienced the worst the customer service from the guy that work there. The first time appointment, he was late for 45mins and my baby and I have to wait for him, even when he came in, there is no apologize, doesn’t feel sorry at all. And after couple days I called him to follow up my case, he sounds very impatient, and of course he said to call me back but never did, he even yelled at me at the end. This is literally the worst experience with travel agent. THE WORST!

Great and friendly travel agency, definitely saved a good chuck of money by booking my ticket through them.

This travel agency has been in this strip mall for at least 10+ years, I believe they moved their office to another location within the same building recently. The owner lady, Sherry has been this place since the business first started. They offer services ranging from purchasing tickets at discounted rate, signing up for organized tours, and applying for visas.
Before the days of purchasing tickets from internet were popular, we used travel agencies primarily. Even now, they still make a good price comparison for long haul flight, sometime they have better price than going to the company directly. Sherry can usually give you a quote over the phone if you speak Mandarin Chinese… Nowadays I do not use them very often because they have gotten a little pushy on picking a certain brand of flight, possibility due to incentive preferences (ex. United over Delta).
I never signed up an organized tour with them, so I comment on that, but that service is available for multiple locations in world. One of the unadvertised services is applying visas especially when you are traveling to countries that do not allow visa free traveling (ex. Brazil, Russia, China, etc…). Those embassies usually are not located in Utah, and countries such as China would require you to go there in person for a visa. Travel agency is one way to bypass the «going there in person» requirement.
Da Fa Travel is probably the only travel agency in state that speaks Chinese. They may not have the best deals, but it is always good to have an extra reference for ticket price comparison, and they are good place to get travel visa without going to the embassies in person.

Da Fa Travel is operated by Sherry Yang and JJ (I have no idea what his initials stand for). I have used her travel agency in the past for buying international flight tickets. As much as I like to buy tickets online these days, when it comes to international travel, I’d still go to a travel agent first. They have on occasion, helped me save a couple of hundred dollars.
Sherry and her travel agency is quite popular among international students at the U and for a good reason. She’d be willing to explore all possible flight combinations before putting forward her best price and itinerary.
Tickets booked through her have never given me any problems and the flights have been uneventful, which is always a good thing. Even the one time I had to cancel my tickets, she was able to ensure a quick refund.
The downside is you need a bit of patience while dealing with her. The only way to get a quote from her is by meeting her in person. Good luck trying to get a quote over phone! Even if you manage to get one, you’d still be better off sitting with her and negotiating the best route and price.
While I now know other travel agents who are easier to work with (over phone), Da Fa may not always be my first choice but it’s good to know it’s there.
