My favorite night club in Salt Lake EVER! Go and have fun all weekend (Friday«The Amazing Latin Friday» Saturday«Party Like A Rockstar» & Sunday«Krazy») Your birthday? They can celebrate it with you, ask for reservations. They are really good person, good security and(of course) good beers!!! What are you waiting for? Let’s star it!

I have been wanting to write a review about this place for a while. In August my sister, a couple of friends and I came here after dinner one Friday night for literally one hour. And within that hour all hell broke loose. We parked in the back and danced for an hour(music was meh) drinks were sloppy, place was dirty and when we left around 12:30 someone had broken into my sisters car. Smashed window, purses stolen which were tucked away in the back. Horrible experience. Owners didn’t give a shit i mean We knew our only option was to file a police report(it wasn’t the first time it happens to me) but showing a little sympathy for their guests would be nice although what can you expect knowing they can’t afford a parking security. It’s fine this place is definitely not a high end club/bar after all. If your looking for a good bar go to Bar X or Beer Bar instead.

The DJs are horrible :-S. They would change the gender of music so often it was ridiculous. You would barely start dancing salsa and then two songs later they would change it to reggaeton, then three songs later it was cumbia, and two songs later it was techno :-S. Horrible!

This club is by far the best” Club in saltlake city Utah. The Latin Fridays are the best. Saturday is nice too but very crowded but it’s ok. I look forward to coming back next time when I’m in town.

The music and everything’s good and I love latin clubs but not this one. The reason I do not like this club is because it has an expensive cover charge, expensive drinks and bartenders always try to tip themselves by not giving the right amount of change back or charge extra on your credit card so they can get a good tip. Unless I give the tip myself this is considered STEALING. They have done this to my friends too!

Saturday night is a blast here for Latin dancing. Get busy around 10:30. 10 dollar cover and 8 dollar mixed drinks or 5 dollar beers.

Great Latin club if you want to go dance the night away. I went on a Saturday nice and the place was packed wall to wall. The play mostly latin hits which I knew none of but it was a lot of fun anyhow. Drinks were cheaper than most of the clubs in town. Check what night you go because they do host some other parties in that space.

I’ve only visited Karamba on Sunday nights which happen to be gay night at this establishment. It’s also a Latin club, so they play mostly Spanish music with occasional pop remixes. They have scantily clad male and female go-go dancers, and a drag show which make it a lot of fun. I like that the place has been remodeled a bit since my last visit, and they now serve huka. Only downside is that cover is $ 10 for men and $ 5 for women. Kind of pricey for Utah standards on a Sunday.

Karamba is ok, I am not really into reggaeton from a few years ago anymore but if you want to dance to spanish music this is one of the better places to go. The vip areas are an ok price if you are into that. they are set up kind of weird in the middle so you can hear the DJs from both sides and that can give you a headache. When you’re down on the dance floor you only hear the DJ from whichever side you are standing on though.

I asked around, trying to find a salsa/Latin club to dance at on a Saturday night, and a few people said, «well, there’s karamba… but…» and there were lots of buts from everyone. It’s more of a bar than a dance club, they don’t play enough salsa, and they have a ton of security, like check under the boobs to your ankles search type security-so I guess it can get rough there. Everyone’s «buts» we’re spot on. There were only two salsa songs all night, right as we got there and the place was empty. I like bachata and they had that, but there were only a few dancers that could even sort of dance. My friend and I resorted to going around the wall of guys that surrounded the dance floor asking if they could dance bachata, several said yes, but they were lying. By 1130, the place was so packed that even if I found the random guy who could dance a cumbia with a spin or two, we didn’t have any room at all. There are two rooms that play the same kind of music, so when we got tired of the booty smacking reggaeton, which was plentiful, we stepped to the other room that was usually playing the same type of music:(. They need to make one room hip hip and reggaeton, the other room bachata, cumbia, and salsa. Not all mixedup. The place was just a hallway, more people walking and pushing through the crowd than dancing. We left when the crowd got a little gangster and they stopped playing anything that I could dance to. So if you like drinking and bump and grind dancing, you might like it here. I was looking for something else.

This club has gotten a LOT better since the last time I visited, which was probably in 2009ish. Also, I don’t think it’s Duvan’s Karamba anymore. It’s just plain old Karamba, since I hear Duvan has sold it to somebody else. It’s in Sugarhouse next to Gold’s Gym and parking can be a bear on really busy nights and you may have to wait outside awhile. The bouncers are really nice, they aren’t being douchey and making you wait for no reason, it’s because they tend to get over capacity in there and they are making sure they are keeping peeps safe. I appreciate that. Once inside you’ll find cover is usually $ 10 which is meh, I hate paying cover but whatever. There are two rooms that usually play slightly different music. The first room is usually high energy reggaeton mixed with top 40 and the room towards the back plays more cumbia, bachata, merengue, with a splash of reggaeton and even some spanish rock. Drinks were fairly inexpensive and they offer buckets of beer. Nice to buy a bucket at last call and nurse them til you get tossed out ;)

My cousins dragged me out here. It was pure torture as well as selfish to assume that I would enjoy coming to such a horrid club. A club of all places. A club yielding lame music. One room plays cumbia like stuff but distorts it by adding too much bass. The other room I only passed through to go to the ladies room in which had the same thing lame music. It was selfish of my cousins to think i would enjoy such a scene. I am one that would prefer to go to a dive bar than a lame disco club. We payed $ 10 to listen to shit music and I felt like i was slowly being tortured with a chain. Having to endure such a thing annoyed the hell out of me. Dancers on stage in bikinis wearing lame furry Sasquatch looking boots who mind you couldn’t get their little dance routine together and the patrons were DB’s wearing sun glasses at night. OMG. Chicks that couldn’t fit in their clothing and the music. Oh, and the drinks here were way overpriced and watered down. I am not a big drinker but one will become one having to endure this. Lets just say I was texting and shopping online the entire time I was forced to endure this torture. This is when I learned that my cousins and I certainly are night and day though I love them, I loathed them for thinking this would be «fun». I got the mastermind behind coming here back by taking her to some vintage shops that I bookmarked on Unilocal.Learned she doesn’t dig vintage the way I do. Small note. If you like shaking your ass to crappy music and you like to wear your sunglasses at night and you like spilling over your clothing or hardly wear any clothing and love spending too much for watered down drinks then this place is for you! Cheers!

Karamba is a mega club located in the Sugarhouse part of SLC. I have only been there twice, and I can’t really say I loved it. There were some good aspects though. One good aspect, is that they have VIP areas you can reserve for a small group of friends so your not standing around amongts the heard of people. Another good aspect, is that there are two bars in each dance area, and it never takes to long to get a drink. If you are in one of the VIP area’s you can get bottle service, and a waitress can attend you. The music is pretty good, but I would prefer that they had more salsa and merengue, and less bachata and reggaeton. It seems to be geared toward more of a younger crowd though, so I can understand how they would over-do the reggaeton, and have all these go-go dancers. Toward the end of the night, they start playing popular hip-hop and R&B songs. They also have security swarming the place, and positioned at the door ready to frisk the men. Some people have made the argument that they would prefer that the extra security measures at Karamba to avoid violence. Once again, the club IS geared to a younger crowd so those things may occur, and YES security might be neccessary. I guess it’s just not my scene. I prefer the Sky Bar at the Top of the Red Lion Hotel for my Salsa night. There is no Security from the last time I remember going, but it is a classier, more sophisticated crowd, in a club that’s located in an upscale hotel, so there is less likelyhood of these occurances. To re-cap, Karamba’s got some good aspects, but it’s not my scene.
