I tried two different bread products they made an 2 different espresso drinks. The espresso drinks were great – lavender-flavored latte and star-anise flavored cappuccino. I wish they would have decaf beans available for their coffees. Sometimes I enjoy a late afternoon drink(or a drink with lunch) and don’t need the extra caffeine. As for their breads, I was quite impressed by their french baguette for $ 2. Tasted very fresh. I also tried their $ 1 sesame topped white roll. It wasn’t very exciting, but might go well with a bowl of soup. Seating is plentiful and nicely appointed. I especially enjoyed the outdoor tables. I recommend going up to the USTAR building for a coffee(and a walk) the next time you’re visiting University of Utah campus. Hours are limited, but perhaps will be extended when they have a more regular clientele.

Their food is really awesome and creative! People there is nice and friendly. This should be the best choice/restaurant in the U campus. However, their food sometimes doesn’t have the same quality every time.

I have been to Fiana Bistro several times in the last several months and I am loving this place. In the Chartwell’s black hole that the University of Utah Campus is it is nice to have a couple of awesome locally operated choices and this is one of them. They make their own breads, ramen, gellato, and more from scratch and the sandwiches, pizzas, and everything else on the menu with a hand made with love vibe that you don’t often see anywhere much less on a college campus. Getting here is not easy, parking is hard to find, but it is worth a journey if you are in the area and definitely worth a walk to the Molecular Sciences Building if you work on campus. Be prepared to stand in line to place your order and for the look of a college campus buffet line, but expect hand made delicious food. Totally worth it! Awesome Ramen!

Extra star for being a choice on campus. It’s a challenge for a third party to do business on campus. Their sandwiches are pretty decent especially since they make their own bread. Their breakfast sandwich is pretty decent but only get it when they have their homemade English muffin. What’s really a disappointment are their pastries. They pretty much use the same dough for each one and they tend to be over baked and dry. Maybe subtlety is their goal but their cinnamon rolls lacked any detectable amount of cinnamon or sugar. The peanut butter and marshmallow roll was not very peanut buttery and the marshmallow was nonexistent. I’ll come back to try their ramen and the elusive donut. Hopefully they’ll get things worked out and have more of a schedule of when things are available, while its still on campus, some of us have to really plan our trips there.

This place is a godsend for those of us at the U. The menu is small but varied. Prices are excellent. Everything is made from scratch by guys who really know food.

My husband has weekly meetings in the same building Fiana is located, and he always eats there afterwards. He talked it up so much I had to drive to UofU just to try it out. It is an owner operated café, which explains why the food is so fresh and delicious. I had a killer sandwich! They also sell bread. Yes, you heard right. They sell delicious sourdough baked fresh that morning! I gotten some, and boy, it’s so amazing toasted with butter! Yum! I wish UofU had Fiana when I was a student there. No other food establishment on campus compares or even comes close. My husband has had their catered food and he was also impressed! I love Fiana, and luckily, I live in SLC, so I can pop in for lunch any day. Be aware of parking restrictions though, but there are parking meters available.
