We had awful experience with Dr Sands. I thought he was terrible and the only reason he gets a star is because his staff was somewhat friendly.

I learned from a friend who’s wife works in the Dental Insurance industry that 30% of claims made by dentists are fraudulent. It’s like trying to find a trusted mechanic. They know that you know little/​nothing about the work they are doing so the dishonest will take advantage of that. I am 30 years old and have had only 2 small cavities in my life. I went two years without insurance and didn’t have a checkup with a dentist during that time. After the two years I went to Dr Sands as a new patient. I was told I had 8 cavities and needed 2 crowns. I was shocked and ended up going to a different dentist to get a second opinion. I didn’t tell him anything and after he checked out my teeth he said they looked great. Then I told him what Dr Sands was going to do to fix my teeth and he was as shocked as I was. He said here was some wear on my teeth from clinching/​grinding but wearing my night guard was helping. But there was no way I needed crowns and that I had no cavities. I was disappointed to know that I had almost been taken advantage of by Dr Sands. I would definitely discourage going there. I believe he is just like those creative mechanics who «find» problems with your car.

I would visit Dr Sands again if it weren’t for two awful experiences with his front desk clerk.
Dr. Sands, front desk clerk demanded payment as if I had just participated in a Beijing Tea scam.
I have dental insurance and my wife/​extended family are also patients of Dr. Sands. However, my last two visits, I’ve been shaken down for payment… even before receiving a statement/​bill from my insurance company OR Dr. Sands showing what was paid and what is my responsibility.
While the dental services are top notch, I’m not willing to put up with a front desk clerk who took business classes from Suge Knight.
Lastly, this office advertises a $ 50 credit for posting online reviews, so the validity of these compensated reviews should be questioned.

Dr. Sands is the man! I have had some dental issues during the last year (I am 50) and was referred to Dr. Sands about a twelve months ago. He is an engaging guy, good man and a good dentist.
I have had some caps and root canal repair done and I have a severe gag reflex. Doc Sands has taken care of my teeth in a manner that my gag reflex has not been an issue.
