I’ve recently fallen in love all over again. The chef(Brian) at Go Sushi blew me away again with The Avalanche Roll. One bite made me melt in the arms of, well my dear wife who was sitting next to me at the bar. How can I make sense of it. Love of that cocky Avalanche roll and that between my legs, well a piece of the Avalanche roll that fell from between my chop sticks between my legs. I just want to eat it. The shortest distance between my mouth and between my legs rests a haute and naughty sushi roll I sinfully dropped. You’ll love it too. Ask for Brian to make one for you. Ask for Blue to serve it up. You won’t regret it.

Update: the sushi chefs must have bailed… this place is not the same! I’ll have to settle for mediocre sushi for now. In the meantime, I’ll be stalking down the old chefs! Rumor has it they are planning to open their own new sushi restaurant. Ahhh the anticipation.

Thought I’d give it a try based on the reviews here, not impressed. The rolls were TINY, so for 20 bucks it seemed like an expensive snack.

The sushi was okay but it did not seem very fresh. The atmosphere was decent but definitely just thrown together without a plan. It felt cheap and shoddy. The parking is situation can be pretty awful. Some of the rolls had good flavors and then some did not. The nigiri was not super. Although there was a form of dynamite roll that I enjoyed. So overall a mixed experience. I really need to give this place another chance.

Go Sushi is an small by great place to eat. The rolls are always fresh and they always have something new on the special board. Parking is tight and the seating area is small — but the food makes up for it. Mars, Catipiller, and Vegas rolls are the best — also try the Jenna Jamison roll — not on the menu — but Awesome!

The best sushi in SLC. Go Sushi’s rolls easily stack up against the best I’ve had in San Francisco and Vancouver, including one Michelin-starred place. Also, Go Sushi has a lot of creative vegetarian options — many sushi places only have a couple of uninspired vegetarian rolls, but Go Sushi has about eight options that are even interesting to this rabid carnivore. There are negatives. The décor could use some help. There is no liquor(due to a school zone or something — welcome to Utah), and the climate control doesn’t seem to work effectively(too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter). The green tea comes in bags — given that there’s no liquor license, this becomes important. We usually get our rolls to go. With that said, I still give it five stars because they do the rolls exceptionally well.

Go Sushi is a tiny little place with great sushi and easy take-out. They sushi chefs are always listening to fantastic music too, which makes your wait that much more enjoyable. It’s really too bad they don’t have a liquor license though… I’d consider dining in if they did.
