I have a masters degree in vocal performance and a solid background in violin, but there is a definite gap in my improvisational ability. George works with me on improv technique in a way that makes the theory less about textbook harmonic relationships and more like a toolbox filled with options on how to intelligently color what you want to say with your music. His pace is perfect, and I highly recommend him as a teacher for any skill level.

George Simon’s education, experience and his understanding of how different people learn elevates him to Master Teacher. Young or old, beginner or advanced, George has so much to offer any student; styles, such as rock, reggae, funk, jazz standards, Brazilian and more are taught at all levels. He is excellent with children as well as adults considerably older than him (that’s me!). His studio is relaxing and inspirational.
