Quirky little furniture shop. It’s good to head to this location with a friend or family member who knows about the time periods that furniture was built. I looked at some pieces not knowing what they were and thinking they were over priced, but my sister would pull up the exact pieces sold elsewhere for triple the amount. So I became appreciative of Hobnob based just on that alone. Lots of mid-century modern furniture and decorations here. No, I did not know that was the style of this furniture, I was told. To me, I just call everything in here«Mad Men style» so if you’re more like me, you probably know what I mean by that. Things in here aren’t CHEAP by any means, but if you know what these same types of items cost elsewhere, you may find Hobnob to be a nice surprise.

Came by to check them out but they were closed. They have new winter hours posted on their door that are different from Unilocal.Oh well! Looked neat from the outside.

Received a gift card for this store. Originally excited, because I’ve always wanted a reason to go inside and check it out. First off, if you work at a place such as this then you should probably understand what it is that you are selling. The lady working didn’t seem to know if what I’d found in the store was a wine decanter or not, or its purpose. She wasn’t too keen on walking around the counter to help assist me with finding an additional item to fulfill my gift card amount purchase. It literally smelled like she just finished exhaling a big rip off of a bong, moments before I stepped in the door. Look, I’m not a prude. Smoke it if you got it. But come on! Not at work. Not while people are shopping at a business that someone else probably owns. And certainly not in plain smell of the retail counter. The owner might want to consider training the employees a bit better. 1. In actually assisting customers. 2. Educating them on what it is that you sell and what their purposes are. 3. Teaching them a better technique to smoke pot whilst covering the smell.

Love this little local shop in the heart of 9th&9th! I’ve bought quite a few things for my home here since I moved to sSalt Lake City and discovered how much I love the 9th&9th district. It’s hard to say where there prices fall in the spectrum. I’ve bought things here that were definitely a steal(two solid oak night stands for $ 30 each) and I’ve definitely had some impulse buys here that looking back on it, seemed pricey. The man who owns this shop is super friendly and helpful. He will even deliver your items for free if it’s on his way somewhere and it’s not a huge item. Other places have charged me from $ 30-$ 70 for a shorter delivery than what he had done for me. They also have some cute clothing and jewelry items in here beyond all the cool furniture and décor for the home that dominates the store. I love this shop, and I come here first whenever I need something for my home because of the cool and different selection and the great customer service they have here.

Ok Hob Nob. I think about you alot and have bought something 2 of 3 times I’ve been there so I must like you. Your prices are high on 90% of items. When I say high I mean at least double what you could charge and still make a good chunk on. But you have some unique finds in the $ 20-$ 50 range that are the reason I keep coming back. These are mostly little art pieces or salvaged stuff that can stand on their own or act as the base to some DIY art. Like I’ve said before, a very well curated selection of products, not just piles upon piles of stuff you hope someone may buy some day. Kudos as well on being dog friendly.

Nick at hobnob can do amazing things to refurbish old items and create furniture pieces with reclaimed wood. For example, he turned old metal buckets into trendy pendant lamps, an old trunk into a bench with storage compartment(by surrounding it with wood), and other creative things like that. Very cool! Overall– hobnob has unique, one of a kind finds often with recycled material. Worth checking out.

I’m excited to be an owner of a mid-century modern dresser. The owner’s were very kind in assisting me. Also, the best part is they’re even delivering it for free because I’m in the neighborhood! Thanks guys. This is a great store for unique finds’

A gem of a store — many intriguing and fun items, classic to retro to modern takes on an antique look(check out the chandeliers) —a previous reviewer described it as an «eclectic mix» and that is spot on! All with a welcoming atmosphere, like so many businesses in the 9th&9th area.

Great selection of chic accessories, home décor and assorted do-dads. Good pricing but everything I looked at was the most expensive of the items. Goes to show my good taste in home décor. Good to see this formerly underused space with some life in it again. Great addition the 9th and 9th District.
