Home Inspector

«The Home Inspector Inc» did an inspection of our home for a sale. While he appears to be a legitimate inspector as called by the Realtor — he left our home in a state of chaos and left hazards for children in the household. His lack of courtesy to the homeowner was outright offensive at times.
First — he turned the Water heater to the hottest setting it could be set at — and did not return the setting to what we had set. We set the temperature to a lower setting to protect our children /​guests from scalding themselves from water that would be turned on at the faucet. He should return appliance settings to the original state.
Second — He did not understand how «programmable Thermostats» work and fumbled with the fundamental tasks of turning off the AC and turning on the Furnace. He left the home with the Furnace set to 78 degrees on a summer day in the 90’s. Upon returning to the home — we found the programs on the Thermostat wiped out, the differential settings and other configuration that was programmed by our HVAC contractor was all wiped out. We had to contact a HVAC tech to have the system restored to what was programmed.
Third — He did not replace the covers on the Electrical panel. He left screws that attach the covers on the breaker panels on the floor — instead of replacing the panel as he had found it.
The Inspector was Dan Hess. Check the BBB — he is not accredited and has one complaint (not ours).
