Hole in the wall Mexican joint. But this place had real Mexican food, not like a lot of other«Mexican» food places you find in Utah. Came here with family for lunch. You can tend a good authentic Mexican food place by the fact most people in the restaurant spoke Spanish. We found a good one! We all ended up getting the lunch specials. Not bad for $ 6.50. Chips and some good spicy salsa came with our meal. I’m pretty sure the tortillas were homemade and delicious! I had a carne asada burrito with rice and beans. The beans and rice were exactly what you would want at a true Mexican food place. Good tasting beans and perfectly cooked rice. The carne asada was really good too. I tried my sister’s green chile burrito and it was tasty too. Great experience and don’t expect anything close to fancy.

Has the lunch special. $ 6.50 includes several choices plus a drink. I had the soft flour taco duo, with wonderful rice and beans. My chicken in the tacos was lightly spiced and tasty. The green chili sauce was delish. At each table were like 6 or 7 hot sauce bottles if you wanted more pizazz. The meals came with chips and a very spicy salsa. So good. Great deal, just hard to find. And so worth the hunt.

Hand made tortillas have to be their biggest asset. The food was very good with large portions to boot. Everything we ordered was very good. Large glasses of Horchata put smiles on my kids faces. I ordered a combo plate with a Chile Relleno and a Chile Verde burrito with rice and beans. I enjoyed it to the empty plate finish!

The food was delicious and the portions were good. The Chile Rellanos were some of the best I have had. Great guacamole. The crema a was a great touch.

Friendly service, great real-sugar soda selections, and fantastic food. The service was a bit slow since it was lunchtime and packed, but they were thorough and friendly. I had the bistek ranchero — since I order it everywhere it’s a great test for new places. Bisteks appear in different forms: here it is cooked with tomatoes and jalapeños but with less of a liquid base, so is different but still good. Spicier and flavorful. Our other item was a plate of tacos. Huge plates — we were both full halfway through!

Pretty awesome tacos. Tried the carne Adada and the Adobada?(Spicy pork). The Adobada was more flavorful but all in all, great tacos. Very friendly server who spoke good English. The food was ready very very fast.

Absolutely the best tacos in Utah. I’ve tried some of their other dishes and they’re hit or miss, but the tacos are absolutely fantastic! The tortilla is homemade and delicious, good quality meat, and the salsa is just right. I usually get the carne asada and cabeza tacos and would recomend those above the other meats. They offer some free chips and salsa while you’re ordering, you do have to pay for refills. I would recomend the nachos if you’re looking for an appetizer to share. The service is good not great, but the restaurant is clean you can pretty much see the kitchen when you enter. Come if you’re looking for authentic tacos!

My favorite Mexican Restaurant in SLC. You can see the kitchen when you walk in and it’s taken care of like home kitchen. Great authentic Mexican food and I go every week! Go!

Had the green enchiladas for lunch here Friday… excellent! I’m coming back for the mole’. Place was clean and bright. Service was good and friendly even though it was a bit busy. The 2 gals working in the kitchen appeared to enjoy their work.

Outstanding authentic south of the border food… homemade tortillas, fresh guacamole, and their chili rejenos is the best I have ever had… well worth trying out

No better place than this one for real Mexican food! Not fancy or dressed up, not even a little but updated, old tables and chairs but very cozy. I’ve had almost everything on the menu; even the more Americanized burritos are good and better than Beto’s. The prices are very reasonable, we have been going once a week to either have dinner or lunch. You can’t go broke eating good, real food at this place.

This place has the best authentic Mexican tacos of any place I can remember going in the last few years, they’ve become the measuring stick that I rate all other tacos against. I have to say that I haven’t had of the rest of the menu because the tacos are so good. I mention Mexican tacos because this isn’t your Taco Bell crunchy taco fare, these are authentic like the tacos you get from the guys running Taco carts downtown(but taste better). I recommend getting the Asada Tacos with a side of guacamole. First off the tacos aren’t too big, 3 is a meal, 4 is too much to eat; but they’re only $ 1.50 a piece so it’s not expensive. Get them with the onions and cilantro on top. I don’t even like cilantro but on these it’s amazing. Then slather a ton of the guacamole on top of the taco and enjoy. It’s fantastic. The guacamole deserves praise in itself, the side of guac costs $ 4!!! But it’s a whole avocado, not just a tiny ketchup cup of green paste. It’s made fresh for your order with onions, cilantro and line juice in it, and it perfectly mashed to still have some chunks of avocado in it. Even after loading the guacamole in your tacos you’ll have half an order left over, take it home and buy a bag of chips on the way. Definitely give this place a try for good, low priced authentic Mexican food. And try the taco with guacamole, it’s the best!
