Called an hour before close to schedule an appointment later in the week and they never answered.

Overall horrible experience. I had a picture of exactly what I wanted. Reassured we could do it, and my nightmare began. Four hours later I was slapped with a bill for $ 385.00 and all I had to show for it was an obnoxious brassy orange head of hair. I contacted the salon numerous times via email and phone and received no response for weeks. The manager and I finally spoke for over 30 minutes and he asked me to come back to fix my hair and he would give me a 20% discount! SERIOUSLY LUNATIC FRINGE? I pay a ludicrous amount of money, you destroy my hair, and I pay YOU roughly $ 225 to fix your mistake?! After further discussion the manager agreed to have me come in the following week and he would comp my visit and fix my hair. When the salon called to confirm my appointment, I had the receptionist confirm that I would not be charged for the visit. She did, and I was feeling slightly relieved thinking that I would finally get my hair to what I originally wanted it to look like. Got to my appointment, sat down with the manager and he basically said that we could get me to the color I wanted and he would do it for 20% off. REALLY? OR, he would tone it and send me on my way for free. What a joke. I have many stylist friends that were baffled by the whole story. I never felt like I was treated in a respectable manner. I was very mislead about pricing and products. I was basically taken full advantage of. Would never recommend this place to anyone, and will talk anyone out of going who has plans to.

Ok so first off I made an appointment with one guy and then they called and switched me to someone else. Then they called the day of the appointment saying he was running an HOUR LATE, um can you say unprofessional. Then I gave him a picture of the purple color I wanted. In the end it was complexly the wrong color and to top it off, he cut it at least 2 inches shorter than I wanted. Last it was really expensive and they kept trying to sell me prospect. Needless to say I will NOT be returning!!!

I recently moved to SLC and was looking for a new ‘home’ salon. They were welcoming and professional, and I left thrilled with my cut and color by Vanny. On the pricey side (my total cost for allover foil and a cut was $ 160), but well worth it for the attention to detail and the incredible service. I will defintely be going back :)

I came across this salon when visiting family and checking out SLC as my husband and I were looking at relocating a year ago. I knew I needed a hair cut and was looking at trying something new. I decided to look for a salon since I would eventually need a new stylist. Walked into the chic Chalk Garden and asked one of the girls for salon suggestions. I figured women talk and know where to go and where to avoid. She then said, «there just so happens to be a salon on our second floor». She walked me up to the second floor and from there on left me in good hands. By the looks of the salon on a late Saturday morning I really didn’t think they would be able to «squeeze» me in. To my surprise, there just so happened to be an opening and I was paired up with a cute red headed young lady who was extremely nice! When she asked at what I was looking to do I told her that I wanted try something different and go short! She was AMAZING!!! She picked up on how nervous I was about cutting off my hair so she was very careful and attentive to make sure I was doing fine the whole time. The staff was very kind and came by and offered me a beverage and a snack. By the end of my appointment I knew that this would be my salon and this young lady would be «the stylist» for me! I never looked back and will continue to be a loyal client of Lunatic Fringe City Creek and my wonderful & amazing stylist Alicia J!!!
One thing that I have learned from seeking the RIGHT stylist is that you get what you pay for!

This locations service was nothing like what I have experienced in Sugerhouse location. I came here with 6 other women for my bridal party hairs. Four out of the six of us had to have our hair re-​done, it was ridiculously poor service, and the stylists that did the poor job refused to take feedback as it was happening and just continued to do the same thing slower. Also, one of our wedding party waited over two hours for an appointment we had made. I the bride also asked for a hair cut as a part of what we were doing and he didn’t bother to cut my hair he just skipped that and started styling it. It was the worst higher end hair experience of my life.

Beware! Their pricing is nothing like the other lunatic fringe salons. And they don’t volunteer that information. The slapped me with a $ 60 bill for a simple men’s haircut — that’s like a dollar per hair I have left! (Not really but you get my point). It was a good haircut, friendly service, nice (but totally hidden) salon but all that became insignificant when I got the bill. It’s not good business when you are a franchise and you know what everyone else charges to slap a new customer with twice the normal cost. Never going back there!
