Fast and friendly service with no bull, definitely coming here from now on unless my car breaks somewhere out of towing range. I ran over an unavoidable ice block that shed off a snow plow up Parley’s and cracked the oil pan & broke the transfer case. They worked with me to find repair options that fit my budget & made sure that everything was all taken care of. The only downside of them is that sometimes the front desk can get a little swamped so you wind up waiting a minute or two to talk to them, but for the fantastic service, it’s worth it.

I have taken vehicles to a handful of different places but none of them have been as honest and upfront as Mike’s. Their business is to repair your car but they don’t bully or pressure you into paying for unneeded services. Real professionals here and I don’t see a reason to take a car anywhere else.

I appreciate the detail and honesty with which Mike Palmer and his crew take care of my vehicles. Mike called me to discuss an issue they found, but was honest in saying we could keep an eye on it for a bit instead of pushing me to do it right away. Great customer service.

I have a 2004 Jeep Liberty that was having a few problems. I had taken the Jeep to numerous repair shops in Salt Lake City and one in Murray as well as taking it to a Jeep Dealer. Every time I would get the same response from the repair shops. They all said that they couldn’t find anything wrong with the Jeep but here is the bill. One dealer even said that they fixed the problem and the funny thing is that a couple hours later it had the same problem. So I took it back to them and they said that there is nothing wrong, I had an auto parts store do a code read each of the times and they all read the it was a misfire.
I had the Jeep towed to Mike Palmer Automotive and ran they found out that the two of six cylinders were shot. I ended having to replace the engine on the jeep because it was going to be cheaper to replace the engine instead of getting it fixed. If the previous repair shops would have taken the time to really run a diagnostic check on the car they would have found out that there was a problem with the cylinders. Mike gave me the pros and the cons of just fixing the motor or replacing it. He spoke with me about the various engine manufactures that are out there and why we should go with a Jasper Engine. So I did my research and found that Jasper Engines are rated very highly for performance and reliability. The cost of the replacement was what was quoted and I had it back when promised. Mike and his staff are a awesome group and they stand behind what they promise. I will use Mike Palmer Automotive on a routine basis. If you are looking for a good mechanic that is not only good but also has a personality, then take it to Mike Palmer Automotive.

I was recently in Salt Lake City visiting my daughter and her car he had some issues. We looked up Mike Palmer’s location, checked out reviews on Unilocal and Google and decided that was where we were bringing the car. It was an absolutely fabulous decision. From the phone call to the front desk, upon arrival, and picking up the car. She needed a headlight muffler repair, tuneup in oil change. Like found a nail in her tire fixed it at no extra charge. I am completely impressed with the work he did, The final price, in the atmosphere. My daughter will bring her car there from now on.

The lady at the front desk was nice… not impressed with Mike. Not very friendly when I walked in and I got the impression that I was imposing because of being short staffed. They did try and fix the issue in the same day and quoted a free «diagnostic“but after a call back and only checking a fuse a $ 90 per hour «diagnostic» (and not counting the cost of the horn if it needs to be replaced) to check a car horn seems pretty ridiculous. Overall not impressed.

I’ve been in Salt Lake for a little over a year and have been very impressed with Mike Palmer Automotive. Haven driven my older car cross-​country several times, they helped me with necessary repairs. I would recommend Mike’s to someone on a budget who also cares about the maintenance of their vehicle. Mike is very honest, thorough, and willing to explain what’s going on with your car in simple terminology. He’s also really good about working with you if you are on a budget– helping you decide which repairs are urgent and which you can wait on. I would recommend Mike Palmer Automotive to anyone.

I’ve had nothing but great service from Mike Palmer automotive. A few years ago I needed to get a repair on my car that I’d priced out and knew it was going to cost me around $ 700. I came in and was told that, yes, about $ 700 was going to be my cost. A few hours later I got a call saying that they’d found an alternative part and they could fix it for $ 350. They saved me money. They didn’t rip me off. I’ve come here ever since with full confidence that they will do quality repairs and not rip me off.

I have had the worst experience with Mike Palmer Automotive! I would not recommend them to anyone ever. They apparently do not care about customer service. I had a frustrating experience the second time I went in for an oil change. I had to wait for two days to get my car back! They did not offer any explanation or apology. Of course I was furious as we are a one car family. I decided I would try to extend grace and forgiveness and try again for another oil change. This time I went in and they did not validate my coupon for an oil change unless I paid for a major service which I did not need. They wanted me to pay $ 48 for a simple oil change that would probably take all day or two. No thanks.

We are stanch supporters of Mike Palmer Automotive. We would never go anywhere else — best service, best prices, quality of work.
The last service MPA took my car right in and after servicing I had a problem — there was no charge and they figured out the problem and charged me for parts only. No one does that these days.
I never have to worry about any car repairs as long as I live!
