Best haircut I have had in a long time. Fixed a terrible cut I got last time at another salon and went to extra mile to fit me in even though I arrived as his shop was closing.

I’ve been on a quest to find a barber that I feel comfortable enough to consistently go to for a long time. I’m glad to say my search is over. Being a barber has become a trendy thing. A lot of barbers I have come to find out focus more on what’s edgy and new. Which is good for some, but not for everyone. These guys have years of experience. They know what they are doing, and they do it well.

Perry’s Barber Shop is the best place to go if you want the look, feel and service of a true old style cut and shave. Friendly as hell. He fit me in between two appointments and did a fantastic job. Every time I travel to Utah for work, that’s the first place I’m hitting after the airport. Bow

Overall I have to say I was disappointed in Perrys’ barbershop and in my barber Jerry. Here are my two main reasons. 1. I had started growing my beard again and had about 3 weeks worth of length. Without asking or questioning Jerry trimmed my sideburns up to the top of my ear, leaving a shaved stretch all the way to the bottom of my ear to where my beard started. Because I live a few hours away from SLC, I therefore had to spend the day with a really weird looking beard, and had to completely shave once I got home. 2. I asked for a neat, conservative, business cut with two main points, a tapered neckline, and long enough on top to have a side part, with the rest left up to Jerry’s opinion(sometimes trusting your barber is worth it). Unfortunately neither of these requests happened, and I now have hair at the front of my head long enough to part, but hair at the back only about an inch long, and not part-able. So overall I entered Perry’s with a short beard and a decent hair style that needed to be trimmed, and left Perry’s with a half shaved beard looking like an extra to the Hunger Games Capitol and a haircut that had none of the aspects I asked for. Ray’s Barbershop can be hit or miss, but it certainly never missed this bad…

Old school goodness~! I just realized I have been coming here every three months for the last five years. Not pretentious! I have been to many other barber shops in the city, sorry Perry, but every three months you will find me in one of their chairs.

Always a great conversation with Perry & Jerry. 5 stars is not enough in my opinion. Cuts shaves just the way I want every time. Give them a chance you won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere setting is great as well. Always a welcome feeling as soon as you walk in the door. Thanks Perry your the man.

«Hey who’s your barber, eh? You tell the joke, I cut the hair». Enzo, Seinfeld. It’s just a haircut, right… what warrants 5 stars? Chill guy spot… Talking red meat, fast cars, and whiskey — all the while getting my hot mess of a head groomed. Jerry was totally cool cat, gave me a peek at his project cars and gave me the best cut I’ve had in awhile. He asked a few questions and went to work confidently… you’ll be in good hands in this shop!

Only came in to the shop because of all the great reviews on Unilocal.Perry did my haircut and it was great! Great conversation too. Usually barbers are quiet and looking to get you out asap, but Perry was personable and fun to be around. Very professional cut and did a great job really without any guidance from me at all!(I didn’t know what I wanted) Would come back here for sure!

Thanks Jerry! I am from out of town and called down to their shop. They were about to close the doors for the evening but Jerry said he would wait around for me and cut my hair, not many people will do that. On top of the great customer service, the haircut was perfect. It is a haircut that I can tell is going to last. If you aren’t satisfied with your haircut then just tell them, they will fix it or give you your money back. I am from Colorado and travel on business out here and will definitely be making them my go to guys. **Cash**

Great old fashion barber shop run by brothers Perry and Jerry. Cuts are only $ 17 and you get a blade shave on your neck and a shoulder massage. I highly recommend this shop.

I went to Perry’s as a result of a review on this site. I will not get a haircut anywhere else from now on. I love the atmosphere in this place, and oh by the way, the haircut is the best I’ve gotten… ever. I spent a lot of years in the military getting terrible haircuts so I know a good haircut when I see one. Perry was able to suggest a haircut that I was comfortable with and since I’ve been going there for about a year now, he knows exactly what I want when I walk in. I really enjoy the banter in the shop. Perry will keep you busy with talk of just about anything. Jerry(Perry’s brother — handles walk-ins) is a really nice guy and can talk old cars with anyone. I make it a somewhat regular thing to take my 4 yr old on the trax downtown for lunch and a haircut(my haircut not his). I want my sons to see what a real barber shop is like since that is how I got haircuts as a boy. Perry’s is a throwback and I really enjoy going there. I suggest making an appointmet as Perry is pretty busy. He can usually fit me in day of if I call early enough.

Honestly, one of the most awkward and uninviting experiences I’ve had in my life. I went there with my girl friend and my little brother(both who have very short hair) who were both planning on getting a cut by the barber. When we walked in they asked and I had my girl friend sit down, when suddenly the barbers broke out in laughter and started to insult my girlfriend by making arrogant and sexist remarks«I don’t cut girls hair» «do I look like a cosmetologist» «you must be joking right». The older gentleman refused to cut«girls hair» my girl friends hair is similar to the new Miley Cyrus look. And needed her hair sniped and shaved, the same way a males hair is cut. Something he, if truly a barber, could handle. Not only did he refuse her, but he out right pawned her off to someone else. All while laughing and snickering. We left, my girlfriend is a regular at Jed’s barber shop now, and my little brother, yes got a good haircut, but could not believe the way they treated a woman. It was so awful, and unprofessional.

Easily one of the best haircuts I have ever received in my entire life. A great couple of guys who do fantastic work and make it look easy. I wholeheartedly recommend them. In fact, I have already texted two of my coworkers imploring them to come here. They want you to be happy and guarantee their work for a week… And bring the green stuff, no credit cards.

Perry and Jerry are both awesome barbers. They take pride in every haircut and make you feel at home. They also try and help people out by networking or recommending other businesses.

Just moved to utah from California, I came here because it was the only traditional barbershop that could take an appointment, and I’m glad i found it. The other places were very glamour barbershop, more worried about the look of an old time barbershop without the feel. Everyone here was friendly, had a good conversation bs’ing while getting my cut and beard trimmed, cheaper than everywhere else. I will definitely be a regular!

–If you want your hair done by someone with 20+ years of experience, go to Perry’s. –If you want someone that can match any picture taken in with perfection, go to Perry’s. –If you want that old school barbershop experience, with conversation and music to match, go to Perry’s. –If you care about your hair, go to Perry’s. Seriously. Go to Perry’s.

I was recently sent to Salt Lake City for a few weeks of training with my employer, and have been looking for a decent barber. Shortly after I arrived in SLC, I was forced to use one of those chain places(which are average at best). Several weeks later when it was time to cut my hair again, I knew I just had to find a real barber. After reading through several Unilocal reviews, I came across Perry’s shop. I gave him a call, and he was able to squeeze me in at the last second. As soon as I walked into his shop, I knew I made the right decision to come here. Old school atmosphere with good chairs, and Perry himself is super friendly. We chatted a bit about sports, and he gave me an excellent haircut. As I was paying, he explained their«one week» guarantee, and hooked me up with a free comb. Pretty cool! I just wish I found this place a few weeks ago…
