Aside from Dr. Petron, there was another person in the exam room. I do not know who this other person was, what his qualifications were, or why he was there. No one asked for my permission to have another person in the room. Dr. Petron talked to this other person more than he talked to me. With this person, he discussed my conditions, using medical terminology that I could not understand. I felt like this took the focus away from me as a patient. I felt like I was being treated more as a subject than as a human being. I also felt very uncertain about Dr. Petron’s diagnosis and advice. I felt like he didn’t ask me enough questions to get a full picture of my symptoms and history. He did not explain to me how he came up with his diagnosis. He left many of my questions unanswered and I left the appointment feeling very confused.
