Randy’s Record Shop

Recently I’ve started collecting vinyl. I don’t have a huge, spend 100s a week interest in it, but my girlfriend does. There are a couple of places around town that have decent selections, but Randy’s seems to be the best.
They’ve got a pretty big selection and are also willing to order in anything you want as well. I called into a couple other places looking to order some RSD limited releases and the other places were less than helpful. I called Randy’s and they were willing to order it in no time. I was able to pickup one of the orders a couple days ago and will pick up the second later this week.
Vinyl is pricey and it’s hard to justify dropping $ 20-​$ 35 on a record in a Spotify world. Randy’s is similar to a lot of other places in that their prices are sometimes better and sometimes worse than online prices. Luckily I found a couple of records for better prices and ended up picking them up.
They also sell new and used record players as well! Definitely worth checking out for any music lover.

Favorite record shop! A whole Blues and Jazz room— I got my Son House record that I wanted, and plan to go back for some Robert Johnson and Billie Holiday records. Ive found some great vinyl at killer prices here and many less circulated hip hop and classic rock albums. Always impressed by these guys! If you’re looking for highly in demand albums, they go fast, they probably have a copy hiding in their ‘newest to be filed’ section, if you have the patience to look.

Hands down the best record store in Utah? Maybe «hands down the most average record store in Utah.» Bland selection and prices that can be beat by just about anyone. I ain’t a fan of what the record stores turned inta. Not sure what this place has goin fer it. Try Raunch or Graywhale instead.

It’s cool to see a place that carries old records and new records here I salt lake. I have bought many tapes and records here over the years. Thanks for keeping the old vinyl out there available to us.

The workers I met here were all extremely nice and respectful to me. They helped me with any questions I had immediately. I wasn’t looking to buy anything that day but they told me all I needed to knew before I made a purchase in the future. All of their records were organized and they had a wide variety of music. This is the best record shop I have ever been to.

Hands down the best record store in Utah! I’ve been coming here for years and always have a good experience. There’s always a good find in the «Newest — To be filed» section. The staff is friendly and you can often see Randy himself working! I love the informative stickers you can find on each record that had information such as price, year, condition, rarity, and sometimes Randy’s personal rating out of 5 stars.

Great little record shop, far from the best or worst I’ve been too. Very possible the best in town. Fair selection, nice staff. Organized a little strangely. Pricing was pretty high on many of the items. Not a bad shop overall!

By far the best record shop in Utah. They have a great selection of new and used vinyl. Great and helpful staff. Everything is in great condition and I really love the feel and vibe the shop produces. Great parking and easy to access. I love how much variety in genres they have too.

I stopped by Randy’s last week while I was in Salt Lake for business. Highly recommend this store to all my fellow vinyl lovers. Great selection that is very well organized. Huge assortment of 45’s where you might just find some gems. Great sales people who do not hassle you and let you browse and answer any questions you night have. If I’m ever in Salt Lake City, I’ll definitely be stopping by once more.

I love Randy’s! I always get what I am looking for at an excellent price. The staff are all very knowledgeable and know how to give you a good deal for what you are looking for. Totally recommend this place for any music lover.

Best place for vinyl in SLC. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because they have really lame hours.

The absolute BEST record store in Utah is Randy’s Records in SLC. Honestly, it’s the only one I frequent. Randy is like an 80-​year-​old due who knows absolutely everything about vinyl and audio equipment. He buys and sells new/​used vinyl, turntables, speakers, and stereo receivers. All of his employees are cool cats, and the customers are the right kind of crowd. Definitely go here.

Best place for vinyl hands down. There are plenty of places to buy cheap vinyl and as a long time collector i will still frequent the other places, like flea markets, antique stores and garage sales. The downside to places like them is you never really know what you’re buying until you get home and clean it up and try to listen. At Randy’s you have an enormous selection that you know EXACTLY what you are buying. They clean and grade them and will not sell you a bad record. If you see a scratch or mark then look on the cover as Randy’s has most likely already listened for audible noise through that portion of the record or you can listen on their turntables yourself. I can’t say enough nice things about the staff either, they will help you with whatever questions you have and wont steer you wrong.
I get lost in there every time i go and completely lose track of time and end up being forced to leave because their closing the store. I love this place and should probably start signing my checks over to them with how much time and money i spend there.

This is the place for vinyl in Salt Lake City. The selection here is vast and even though the store is no bigger than a minute, it’s easy to get lost in. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. This is a great starting point if you are interested in getting into vinyl since Randy’s also carries a variety of stereo and turn table equipment.

I started listening to vinyl a few years ago, not because I could hear the difference (my hearing sucks) but because it just feels right. Randy’s Record Shop feels like a record shop should feel.
I love going on my lunch break with no one to distract me. Except, I have to be careful en route back to work, as I approach East High School. There is a sneaky speed trap there. Twice, I have gotten tickets after spending too much time browsing records and then trying to rush back for a meeting I was already 5 minutes late for.

This place is so cool! We have recently started listening to LPs– you don’t realize how much you lose in the digitized world of CDs and MP3s. The sound quality is amazing on a great stereo system.
It’s a lot of fun to flip through the huge selection of records and get all nostalgic when you come across something that reminds you of your parents or your childhood. Randy’s sells new releases on vinyl, too.
The prices range from really cheap to really expensive, depending on the album and it’s condition. A sealed Pink Floyd or Metallica may set you back more than $ 75, for example.
This is a cool place to go if you’re looking for a unique gift for someone, even if they don’t have a record player. You can buy frames for albums at Target. Voila– Instant awesome present!

This is a really good place for me to take cash and leave my plastic at home. Otherwise I could get myself in a lot of trouble!
If you’re into vinyl, this is the place for you. I haven’t seen this many records in one place since CD’s took over and the world changed forever.
Randy’s has hard-​to-​find imports and really cool colletible discs, radio promo albums, basic records cleaned out of Dad’s attic and so much more. There is even a fairly large collection of used CD’s at reasonable prices.
So… with the return of vinyl… does this mean I can go back to calling them «records» and «albums» without dating myself? I’m HIP again!
