Many months before I ran into the time to actually move out of my house and start renting it out, I contacted real property west. After the first call someone came out to estimate rental price and terms of the entire contract. The agent was honest, clear, & had all documents w/​him. When I was ready to move out & start renting, Lisa brought me in and was a super ray of sunshine and great attitude/​we were on the same page. It took a little over a month to rent the property, right when the renters moved in I was a bit disturbed by the immediate repair claims and bill I received the second day they moved in. I thought the agency was supposed to contact me for any excess of repairs over $ 200, though it turned out to be an emergency, so after getting ahold of them over the course of the weekend (in which you can’t get ahold of anyone) I spoke w/​Rachel and she cleared everything right up. I was stressed over the first weekend because I have never had an issue w/​plumbing or anything major since the day I moved in over 6 years prior. Overall, I give the agency 4 stars for being active, relatable, listening to my issues and questions, answering them in a timely manner, and for taking care of my renters immediate issues.

I’ve been at my current apartment for over two years and RPM has been great to work with. I can pay rent online which is super convenient. I also submit repair requests online, and they respond timely and correct this issue each time. I have no complaints, really!

No communication. Multiple phone calls unanswered over the course of weeks. There is no effort to make the tenant happy, they simply take their money and that is that.

Acted very fast to get us into an apt, once we were in though things started to unravel. RPM runs over 300 properties in and around SLC, and it is just too much for their maintenance team to handle. Delays, poor communication, false advertising, and price gouging of the property owner led to us ending our lease early with them and the owner seeking other property management. The web portal for rent payment is also problematic, and I had to call three times within the four or five months we worked with them to resolve billing issues, not to mention the additional fee for using their online «service».

I judge a service by how they respond to mistakes, not by the original mistake itself. Since we moved in, we’ve had about 5 major requests that needed to be taken care of at the house. All 5 were corrected within a reasonable amount of time. All of the maintenance men went above and beyond when they came over to the house.
We’ve had a couple accounting issues as well– i.e. being charged for a previous month’s utilities. Lisette was courteous and handled the situation quickly, applying the previous month’s charge to the following month.
My biggest complaint is that my house was far from move-​in ready. Hadn’t been painted, the yard was overgrown (so we had to pay someone to come and get it in shape). There were a lot of immediate needs that should have been taken care of when the house was vacant, but the wrong was righted quickly.

So far I’ve had a decent experience with this company. Most of my service requests have been answered (apart from 2 broken windows that still need repair). The company is pretty easy to get a hold of and communicate with.
My biggest complaint (although minor) is that they charge you a fee to pay rent online, in this day and age where nearly EVERYTHING can be easily handled online, it seems silly to me that the only way to avoid a fee is to physically mail a check.

This place is HORRIBLE!!! The office staff is lacking in communication and common sense. Maintenance will show up at 9am on a Sunday, unlock your door and come in without so much as a phone call. They claim they have your deposit back within 30 days after you move, I’m still waiting for mine. They schedule inspections and send notifications to the wrong tenants so some tenants are expecting inspections that never happen and others get inspected without a heads up. The staff is RUDE!!! They failed to get my check out on time and they have the balls to tell me to «chill out» when they clearly failed to do their job. Kaitlyn specifically is someone you never want to deal with, she is unprofessional, rude, and lacking in the basic skills required to help tenants. I could go on and on but this has been BY FAR the worst rental experience I have ever had. As soon as I get my deposit check I will be done with them FOREVER and that day can’t come soon enough.

Wow I’m a year late so but this company still has a way of pushing my buttons. As a follow up to the owners uninformed response, it wasn’t a vendor who showed up on a Sunday. It was a company maintenance man, the same one that came almost every time.
In regards to the deposit. I was informed it would be mailed in «within 30 days» not «exactly 30 days». It was mailed on day 31 and I am confident that it would not have been had I not called. Every time I called, the staff acted totally clueless and like they had no idea what I was asking about. Either they’re rude to their tenants, or severely under-​trained. And if they held it hostage because I was being too assertive, that further proves the lack of professionalism.
As for the inspections that he blames me for delaying (???), the city wanted to inspect the NORTH apartments. The notices were given to the tenants in the SOUTH apartments (myself included). I was expecting and prepared for an inspection that was never meant to happen at my apartment, meanwhile the NORTH apartment tenants received no notice of the inspections until the city inspector showed up. Not to mention, this all happened the week I was moving out so I most definitely wasn’t out of town and since the apartment was 90% empty at the time, I wouldn’t have cared less to let them in without me being home.
As a side note, blaming customers (tenants) in a response to review instead of trying to solve any issues only further proves the lack of professionalism and service provided by this sham of a property management company.

If I could give zero stars I would. From unpleasant and uncooperative beginning to agonizing end, this company has been a nightmare to deal with. We rented a house for our son who is a college student and RPM has been rude,
deal with, unethical, underhanded and finally impossible to deal with. My advice to potential tenants RUN, don’t walk away from these people.

We are home owners and this company is horrible!!! They don’t respond to any requests. They are unprofessional and can’t believe they are even a business. I wish so badly we could drop this company and use someone else, but apparently we have no choices. They even hold meetings without notifying homeowners. They know how to keep things NOT running.

Thirty degrees outside, and no heat inside. I feel like I’m back in Russia, I have no control over my thermostat. At least we have hot water.
Their 24 hour notices now consist of an email. Which state, on such and such a date we will be inspecting the apartments, and removing your window units. Two days late they show up, and leave one of our window units sitting in the middle of the living room floor. And the apartment now smells of cigarette smoke, thanks to their clean cut and classy maintenance guy.
And trying to get them to actually come out and take care of any problems is a joke.
If you find an apartment you like and it is managed by this group, go elsewhere in a hurry.
