I hopped around Salt Lake looking for someone to tell me about my old silver dollar. I wasn’t looking to sell, I was mostly looking for information. The person that I talked to at Rust Rare Coin seemed to know his stuff, but he was kind of uppity. It felt less like an experience and more like a business deal. Definitely not the coolest coin place in the valley. Also, for the record, they offered the least amount of money for my silver dollar.

Went to Rust Coin today to sell some gold and silver jewelry. They were incredibly patient and helpful with the process of checking for authenticity, carat, and ensuring they had every speck of dust to weigh. They removed all stones carefully and the ones they didn’t remove they just weighed with the metal. The bonus was the check they issued at the end!!! They also pay out in cash. I couldn’t have made out nearly as well selling myself. I was very impressed with the service here and would recommend this store for anyone wanting to get a good value on the gold or silver you no longer want.

DISHONEST A few years ago I bought several brand new Maple Leafs(bullion) from Rust Coins. Recently, I returned to sell them as bullion. They had quoted me the price per ounce on the phone. They had been in the plastic on the shelf and never handled. When I got there they told me there were a few marks on this brand new bullion!!! So the buy price was going to be lower than the going rate. Bullion is bullion and these were in pristine condition and never out of the plastic. How do I deserve a mark down for bullion? They are not numismatic coins. I bought by the ounce and I sell by the ounce!!!
