I love going to libraries. And since I am in the SLC area, I frequently visit the Salt Lake Library a lot. I enjoy going there. It’s very nicely setup. Lots of floors. Couple nice small shops and cafes. But the main thing is the books. Has a large selection of books and it’s so easy to get a library card so you can enjoy checking out any of the books they have. There’s also a huge section for movies on DVD etc as well as audio book section. Also they have computers to use and they Arron each floor. Totally free of charge. So if you’re in the area, I totally recommend checking out the library.

As libraries go, this one is pretty awesome. Architecture aside, I love that there are lots of tables and chairs available. I really wanted to visit the rooftop garden with 360 views, but unfortunately it’s closed for«most of the winter» since it’s icy out there. I saw this photographer taking engagement pictures of this couple when I visited, so that’s cool.

The local area needs work. The building is up to par but 100 feet away are people selling drugs. You can buy heroin in the library parking lot. We know this because our colleagues tested the theory. Not the library’s fault though so 3 stars.

I love libraries, but especially this one. My kids thinks it’s cool enough to visit for many reasons – fun author lectures and signings, awesome elevators, nice gift shop, yummy cafes. Oh, and the books. Beautifully designed building. Parking is okay. I don’t feel comfortable walking around outside by myself, especially at night, because of beggars and homeless people.

What a great library. Worth moving to SLC just for that. The architecture is awesome. It is a five star library. There are so many cozy spaces to sit and read or just relax. Love how the building is so open both in and out and it houses so many functions from outdoor concerts to small conference rooms. Can’t say enough good things about it. Even the restrooms looks great. Unfortunately the dispossessed do dishevel it with toilet paper, not to the fault the staff but to society as a whole.

Ok, do you need another excellent review? Yes, you do ! Was visiting Salt Lake recently and came into the library to check email and have a look around. Such a lovely place. I used to live in SLC and remember when the library was first build, it is a fantastically beautiful and lyrical place. I think libraries should represent what they are and do, soaring spaces with an uplifting spirit. That’s what reading and books can do for us. And, art and public social spaces. I think the homeless blend in just fine, and how are they different from anyone else? who is more deserving? beautiful public spaces are for everyone, who most could benefit from such a healing spirit?

Best public library I’ve ever frequented. This is definitely one of the things to see when visiting Salt Lake City; especially if you have kids. The children’s area downstairs is huge and has a lot of nice extra features like iPads, little themed nooks like an «attic» and«ice cave,» and there’s outdoor access with a huge water feature to splash and play. There is also story time on a regular basis and staff do an awesome job jazzing it up with puppets, songs and little skits. The lobby of the library always impresses me with its grandeur, and it’s hard to beat the views from the roof. They put on free film screenings very often, and there’s always cultural events, art showings etc. to see.

I love coming to this city library. The space is gorgeous, staff well informed, plenty of books, magazines, CDs and DVDs. I find myself to keeping coming here to check things out. The transfers from different city libraries is free and it usually is available for pick up the next day. Some cities charge $ 2 per item to transfer within different libraries of same branch. Yes they have a large homeless population in the library but all major city libraries do. They have some great roaming art displayed also. Check out this library now!!!

How have I not written a review for one of the best places on our planet??? This is by and far the best library in Utah, and much of the country, IMO. Modern, with many, many resources for the community and beyond. The best children’s library… with an entire floor dedicated to the youngsters. I could go on for hours, but, hey! There are books to read!!!

After breakfast we headed on over to get our reads on. I make it a point to visit a library if I’m in another state. I’ve only seen pictures of this ultra funky-modern behemoth and couldn’t wait to stop by. I’ll keep it short and sweet: it was justified! The building is comprised of five floors of madness, with little shops, boutiques, and a hair salon, lining up as you walk in through the main entrance. The openness of the building itself is just massive in scope. We did some exploring and we walked a lot and took the see-through glass elevators, which were cool, fast, and efficient. They really spent a lot of money on the infrastructure. They even have a rooftop garden and a section of it houses beehives, with actual bees in them. You can go up there and chill and catch a view. If you read my Dunkin Donuts review you’ll see the picture I took of the place from the rooftop at the library across the street. As far as materials here they have everything in terms of book, media, periodical, internet access, etc., that you could possibly want. I’m sure we only got 10%-20% of the City Library experience. It’s good to know that something like this exists. This is a great place to nourish you mind and should.
