Salt Lake Coffee Break features large seating areas, a menu featuring a variety of drinks and snacks, numerous power outlets, as well as a great patio. This place covers the limits of beverages: coffee, tea, espresso drinks, sodas, energy drinks, sparkling waters, Italian sodas, chai, and the list goes on. If you’re thirsty they probably have something you could use to sate that craving. The employees are nice and the crowd is colorful. It’s not the quietest place on the planet as people outside talk and laugh and inside the staff is constantly making drinks for a wide-range of clientel. From students studying, friends talking about strange relationships that they just got out of, to homeless people counting their change to buy a coffee. So it can get loud, it can get busy, and even with so many outlets you may still not be able to find one. If you want to enjoy a beverage with friends while being free to talk and have fun then Salt Lake Coffee Break deserves your money.

Came here for a book club meeting, but didn’t order anything. I can’t speak to the food/drinks(but the people I was with said it was all good) but the space is good. Front and back area that offers a lot of seating.

I do end up *trying* to do schoolwork here more often than I would like because it’s open late but there are only like 3 tables that are parked near shoddy wall outlets to use if you need to plug in. Also forget about being able to concentrate on anything if you get there after 8 pm. There is a regular group of guys that come in and have no concept on inside/outside voices. Maybe I’m just too old or have my expectations too high but when I have my noise cancelling headphones on full blast And I can still hear you there is a problem. SLCB isn’t so bad because of its workers or the coffee it’s horrible for the people it attracts to hangout there.

Please don’t serve food if you are going to make people wait an hour for a couple of sandwhiches. I have worked in restaurants for years, and the level of inefficiency here is supreme. Obvioulsy, no common sense. You should serve customers in the order they are in line. What business strategy is it to have an employee chat up front or play on their phone when they could be actually serving the customers. You know the very people that support you getting a paycheck?!

I get their«dirty Irishman» it’s not the best coffee in Salt Lake City, but coffee break has lots of couches & a patio, it’s also open late. It’s a good spot for you and all of your loud rowdy friends to hang out at while you figure out what your going to do with the rest of your Saturday night. But if your looking for quality, I wouldn’t recommend going here. Coffee break is alright, it’s better if your looking for a comfortable place to hang out and socialize with a few friends and kill some time. What can I say, it’s Coffee Break.

There is so much negative I can write about this place, so to shorten the negativity: in sum, don’t go here. There are better places for all their product and you will feel more welcome and human at any of these places, or even being judged at an LDS church drinking coffee than you will at this conceited joint. On the positive, they are open late when you need a hang out place but don’t try to use their WiFi, it’s bugged and hotly used so it’s poor service. It’s the«gay hot spot»… But unfortunately a long list of terms and conditions apply as to you being welcomed into the crowd. If you intend to make friends or meet lgbt singles, be warned that the terms and conditions narrow down the list of what you can be to less than a naked stripper at a dirty strip club.

I really like this place, and I love sitting outside. I don’t really go for regular coffee there because I am a big coffee snob, but I like their Turkish coffee, it is very good! I like how large the place is, and my favorite thing is to sit outside. Although it is often very smokey, so if you aren’t a smoker it can be a bit annoying, but over all it is a good place to hang out and change the atmosphere. The only thing though, is they really need to work on cleaning their restrooms. I know that it gets busy, but it needs to be cleaned for sure! I don’t know how it gets that dirty, but they need to be on top of it.

I haven’t been here in years, but after being re-introduced on Saturday, I’ve been the last 2 days. I enjoy it a lot at Coffee Break. I think what I like most is that, in comparison to a typical American coffee shop, it’s very different. The floor plan is large and open. There is a huge patio in the front. It’s loud inside, and always busy. This place is very clearly owned by an Arab, and it feels like the coffee shops I went to when I was living in Palestine and Jordan. They offer all your typical a like drip, lattes, cappuccino, and hot or iced tea; with a small selection of pastries, along with hummus, baklava, and Turkish coffee. Yeah, this place is owned by an Arab. I love it because the people who come here are friendly and welcoming. They also make the best chai latte I’ve had in who knows how long! The wifi is free and very strong. I hate when coffee shops have poor wifi, but that is certainly not the case here! I think this is my new favorite coffee shop, especially if I want to stay downtown or be out later than going to 9th&9th for Coffee Garden.

Salt Lake COFFEE Break!!! First of all let me start by saying, I’m not a big Coffee drinker. And so I’m not reviewing this place based on how good or how bad their coffee is. This is a chill, fun spot that serves some coffee and other drinks. It’s not some over the top quality coffee place for all you coffee drinkers. I do like this place specially cuz it was a perfect spot for me and my friends to hang out at. It was a spot that I frequently visited when I first moved to SLC to attend college. I’ve met many people at this spot during my college years and it was always a nice fun place to be at specially that it was open late. The location is great too. So I will recommend this place if you are looking for a spot to chill at or meet some friends. Oh and they have free wifi which is great too.

Great coffee! I personally love their chai, it’s creamy and sweet, probably my favorite chai in the city. This coffee shop is my one of favorites because they’re open late enough to accommodate my 2AM coffee needs and when I get coffee from here it’s great coffee!

Not very good. Turkey sandwich was flavorless. Mocha tasted like washed out coffee with a lot of sugar. Never coming back.

Used to be a good regular here a few years back. The location is great near the heart of downtown. But, some of the characters you meet and talk to there are not very appealing. We stopped by during gay pride weekend, and watched a guy sit down with this girl who was alone, a guy I’ve seen there before, and started getting mad at her asking her beliefs and standpoint on the lgbt community in Utah, got angry, threw his coffee in the road and peeled out of the parking lot. The coffee is decent, the best thing about this place is the closing time and that they have heaters(which I haven’t seen on) yet outside during the winter.

This is one of my favorite places in SLC. There is plenty of seating inside and out and the inside has a ton of couches. The staff is friendly, the menu is extensive, and the atmosphere is great. I love coming here at the end of the day to catch up on emails and have a cup of coffee.

The Coffee is not so great. The only thing this place is good for, is hanging out late on the weekends with a very young crowd.

Like other people have said, You don’t go here for the coffee… It’s a great place to do homework, or chill with homies without having to feel like you need to buy more shit or leave. Yes the bathrooms are graffiti ridden and the people that go there are very«colorful», but I personally like that. Going to a coffee shop in the south end of the valley is like walking into a scene from Pleasantville. This is an urban place that I love even if the coffee is watered down, whatever ya know?

So this place has good regular drip coffee. For serious coffee drinkers wanting to spend a long time here with friends, then I would recommend other places. The refills price for regular coffee is a tad ridiculously high. There are several places to sit down inside and outside with plenty of couches to go around. However for a coffee shop in a pretty traffic heavy area, this place is a bit empty than other similar coffee shops.

A wonderful spacious coffee shop, it felt warm and comfortable for being such an open space, the menu Is simple, they do have an endless variety of flavors. The barista that rung me up wasn’t as wonderful, but as for the barista who made my drink was fast, nice, and delivered exactly what I wanted. I’ll definitely drop by soon!

Really like the ample and comfortable seating… couches, love seats, and tables. Outdoor seating as well. My iced Americano could be better, but that’s okay. Free wifi!

This is an interesting eclectic coffee shop. We have now been there three times and enjoy coming in for a late night snack. There are all types of people here — some people playing cards, some studying, some socializing, some surfing the internet, some that have fallen asleep on the couches… probably not a place you would enjoy if all you stay at is the four seasons. We have had the humus plate a couple of times and it is excellent. We had the baclava tonight and it too was very good. However, some of the pastries look like the same ones I saw here about 11⁄2 weeks ago at my last visit. It is open later than most places in the area. Nice place to stop in and enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack.

This place is dirty, with bad coffee. You don’t really come here for the coffee though. I come here to chain smoke and BS with my friends since its one of the only places in town that doesn’t treat you like a dirt bag for smoking. They have wifi and a room full of undesirable couches. I think a lot of people come here to study or do work. I don’t hate the place, but if they had better coffee, it sure wouldn’t be a bad thing since it is after all a coffee place.
