Smith’s Ballpark

I just love this place. What else can I say? Giving a baseball ballpark a bad review is just being a bad person. The chicken tenders and fries basket is delightful, the Philly cheese steak basket is good. I wish their Fanzz team shop would get some USA made ballcaps, but that’s just because I’m a hat collector and the Chinese caps blow.
Don’t go on Thursdays unless you’re just wanting cheap booze. I hate when people can’t control themselves and think the ballpark is just a big bar. We’ve left multiple times in the 7^th inning because it is no longer family friendly thanks to the inconsiderate drunkards and their filthy language. They do it on non Thursdays as well, but Thirsty Thursdays is just a disaster for anyone who doesn’t drink.

Beautiful baseball field. They have a good variety of food options, the employees are friendly, they have lots of fun activities and contests for fans, you can sit on the lawn for $ 5 or get group/​family deals for seats. They frequently have fireworks after games. My kids loved to ride the train and go to the playground for a break. BUT THE PARKING IS A REAL PAIN!

Ever since moving to Utah I’ve heard great things about this stadium, so after living here for a year I went to check it out when I had family in town.
The stadium itself is in fantastic shape, especially seeing as it’s 21 years old. It’s got a very cozy feel from the second you step on the concourse. I have loved baseball my whole life, going to many minor and major league games when I lived in WA and if I travel I try to fit a baseball game in. I’ve been to some of the nicest MLB parks (Safeco, AT&T, Coors) and Smith’s is pretty much on par with them.
I got us tickets in the second row of the upper level directly behind home plate. This is my go to spot when I go to MLB games, but the smaller size of this place puts those seats right on top of home plate. 3 tickets were $ 51 altogether and they were the best seats in the house.
For those who aren’t baseball savvy, this is one notch below the majors. Several players on the Bees will play in MLB someday and some of them may have been to the bigs already. The Bees are the AAA affiliate of the LA Angels, who tend to have a loaded farm system. If you are a fan of a team besides the Angels, there’s about a 50% chance your team’s AAA affiliate will be coming to Smith’s during the summer.
This is perfect for a night out with friends/​family and the TRAX line runs right by it.

America’s favorite pastime is what you’ll enjoy at this South Salt Lake stadium. The Bee’s aren’t the greatest time, but if baseball is your thing, then I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time here. The sport isn’t my favorite, but if you don’t have better plans, tickets are inexpensive and there are often fireworks shows at the end. It’s awesome getting to lay out on the field while viewing pretty displays of air pollutants. What’s even more awesome than that is their hot dogs. They are huge and really tasty.

Minor league baseball might not be as flashy as the majors, but with stadiums (or is it stadia?) like this, it’s just as fun to watch. The backdrop while watching is a majestic mountain range, the seats are the folding plastic kind instead of metal bleachers, and the fireworks show afterwards was better than some I’ve seen at major league ballparks. I only stopped at the ice cream stand so I can’t rate any of the other concessions, but overall this park is one of the best I’ve ever been to at any level.

Nothing better than «Family Night» at the ballpark with $ 5 tickets and free hot dogs! (Every Monday night) My kids love the train ride and the new playground! Firework nights are fun too!

Baseball is America’s favorite pastime and where else to do it than at Smith’s Ballpark. The view is amazing, fireworks shows are incredible with the mountains in the background. We spend many summer nights here. This view is from Suite 12.

Going to a Bees game is a great experience. The tickets were very reasonably priced. There is plenty of decent free parking in walking distance of the ballpark. The park is fairly cozy and there really aren’t any bad seats. There are plenty of vendors so getting food and drinks is not a huge wait. And the souvenir shop is well stocked and not ridiculously over priced. If you wanna catch a ball game I highly recommend checking out Smith’s Park and the Salt Lake Bees.

Cool stadium to watch triple A baseball. Easily accessible from downtown SLC off the TRAXX or an easy walk in good weather. Seats are reasonable/​cheap and great views from this smallish stadium. The food options are what you would expect — burgers, dogs, fries, slices of pizza, ice cream helmets, and some Mexican food. The available craft beers are limited, but decent — Goose Island IPA, and a few others.
The competition is good as this is AAA which is one level below making it to «the Show». They have general admission seating in the outfield (bring your blanket and sit on the grass), and there is also a train that kids can ride in the outfield. If the Bees are in town, this is an easy evening with friends, family or co-​workers.

We’ve been lucky to live near both major and minor league baseball for the past 35 years and have always had positive experiences… Until the Bees. Not the team but the management. We won two signed jerseys via silent auction for the Huntsman Cancer institute on mother’s day. I returned a call to the gentleman arranging pickup and meet and greet with the two players. Long story short I went to the park and picked up two unsigned jerseys. The woman at the front desk wouldn’t lift a finger to help us figure out who to talk to about getting them signed. Forget season tics… not run like the old Sidewinders and River Cats. Buyer beware for future auctions.

4^th of July celebration that was fun for all in attendance. Will come back next year! Happy birthday America!

You can get great seats for a very affordable price. They gave reasonable priced beer and the Mexican food isn’t half bad.

This is as good as it gets in Utah. From all the different stadium name changes it’s hard to keep up. Now I believe it’s called The Smith’s Stadium.
From the cheap tickets, but yet overpriced food this is the place to be. Fresh squeezed lemonade with a large bag of kettle corn popcorn always satisfies my carnival cravings!
Convenient location right in the heart of SLC. My recommendation would be to take the trax to avoid all the nonsense of being stuck in traffic. There’s no free parking lots near by, so be prepared to pay between $ 3 – 6 to park. If you’re lucky you can find a spot on the side of the streets.
The stadium is well kept and always clean. If you go on a firework night be prepared for a full house and drunken fans. Yes, the Bee’s do have loyal fans, believe it or not. Any other night is great; you’ll basically have your choice to sit where you please and really be able to enjoy the game without all of the extras.
If you have children and they get bored, they have an updated playground that they would find amusing.
My tip: Cheap fun makes for a happy life.

This was such a wonderful experience. I was able to sit 5 rows behind home plate for only $ 20. The service was great and the fans were enthusiastic.
I enjoyed the whole ball park. The only regret was that I was by myself and my son wasn’t with me.

Went to Smith’s Ballpark for the first time today… a Memorial Day matinée game starting at 1:05 PM. I have to give this place five stars. Let me explain why.
1) Nice recovery. I had trouble buying tickets online because of some confusion between the account I was attempting to open and my ticket-​purchasing account for Real Salt Lake. I guess the kudos should go to the SL Bees organization for this… but the young man who helped me get my ticket over the phone was a superstar… what a joy to have somebody helpful and knowledgeable help you get your ticket with little hassle. I may forego using the Bee’s website from now on and just pick up the phone. My ticket was sitting in an envelope at Will Call as promised… no problems.
2) Nice ballpark. i’ve enjoyed AAA baseball over the years in and around Southern California. The ballparks (I hesitate to use the word «stadiums» for these places… the feeling is much more intimate, much more comfortable at these minor-​league parks). in Ontario, Lancaster… both great places to watch a game. Smith’s Ballpark has them beat hands-​down. Truly not a bad seat in the house.
3) Nice facilities. The bathrooms I went into were clean and not smelly like so many places where lots of people (i.e., men) gather and drink a lot of beer. It seems to be the attitude in Salt Lake City… this is our city, our team, our ballpark… let’s keep it nice!
4) Nice souvenir shop: Fanzz. If you want a Bee’s cap or shirt or pen or toy… this is the place, Great staff and service… they even helped me look for a cap for my gigantic melon head. And found one!
5) Nice food stands. O.K. prices have gone through the roof and you can go through $ 50.00 pretty quickly nowadays. but the food is good, the beer is cold… and the people seem to have a good attitude. That’s all you can ask for at a baseball game.
and 6) Nice baseball. No… it’s not The Show… but these guys are out there putting on the best «show» in town… the occasional major-​leaguer on rehab assignment might be playing… alongside «kids» trying to make a name for themselves — OK — the Bees lost 10 – 6 today… but there were a lot of hits and lots of action. I had a great time.
They have made a fan out of me. Well done, Smith’s Ballpark and the SL Bees!

Wow… what happened?
The food at the ballpark used to be so much better. The ballpark itself was and will always be great… but the food and the quality has slipped greatly. I missed a good hot-​dog with a fresh steamed bun (and they don’t have the option for a polish dog anymore… what happened Larry)? It’s hard to mess up a cold beer, but for the price they came close to messing that up too… Oh well, I guess I’m fortunate to hit a few major league parks a year so I can get my baseball fix and get a great hot-​dog…

SLC get’s to have a ball team!!! Go sports! This makes for an outstanding social opportunity. Cheap tickets and beer that flows like wine… or maybe just beer: P Ride your bike down here on a sweaty summer afternoon and enjoy a fun and memorable day with your family or friends. I have attended Bee’s games on a number of entertaining occasions (even back when they when it was the Buzz playing at Franklin Covey ball park) but this review was inspired by when we recently went with 10 of our friends. Not everyone was into baseball so much but all of us agreed, it’s just fun to tag along for the sport, for the genuine nostalgia and/​or the social aspect.
The park itself is conveniently located, clean and well staffed. Even though the stadium could use a few more fans occupying the seats, you will always get a full on, fun experience of America’s favorite past time! I even started the wave a few times with our eager and energetic crowd! If a stadium-​wide wave isn’t summer sports fun, I don’t know what it

Salt Lake Bees (LA Angels minor league club) play here with lawn tickets (no seats) starting at $ 8. We paid $ 12 for a fri night game on the 3^rd base side.
Food and beer prices were the same as major league ball parks which I thought would be cheaper.

This little ballpark for the local SLC Bees is a great fit for the SLC community. The Bees are the farm team for the Angels. The tickets are cheap on the lawn ($ 7) and go as high as around $ 30. The ballpark is a fun place for all ages. Spring Mobile serves various baseball foods and beer. There are activities for children too such as the train in the outfield and the Bee that comes around the stands. This ballpark features a beautiful view of the mountains and is very clean. Make sure to check the specials the ballpark features. On Thursdays, all drinks are $ 2.75 and they have fireworks or giveaways usually. One of the best times are the fireworks during July 4^th weekend. After the game, the Bees put on a great firework show and you can even go on the field. Make sure to bring blankets though.
So stop reading this review, grab a glove, a hat, and a jersey and get to a game to see the Bees.

I cheer for the little guy. The underdog. The home team. Check, check, and check.
Now don’t get me wrong. The real little guy is the adult co-​ed softball league at your local county park. But as far as pro athletes go, I’m just as happy at a day in the minors where the seats are cheap and the folks are laughing as I am with a day in the big leagues. It’s about the experience, and I like the experience of watching the dreamers hit baseballs in SLC.
I’ve seen a few games here, but tonight I had a chance to sit in a suite and take it all in. It was great – hot dogs, ice cream, soft drinks, popcorn. All you want in a trip to the ball park, all wrapped up in a cozy room and a great view on the balcony. I don’t often get to do this kind of thing (I was invited as a guest by the incomparable Ryan K) so it was doubly nice. Sure, the home team walked away with an L but I feel like I picked up a W.
Many years ago — too many to count — I saw a combined ticket of Journey and Foreigner here. I mean, it wasn’t so long ago that they were cool for the first time. It was more of a «reliving the ‘80s» tour, but it was rad. I had a backstage pass and I asked the lead singer of Journey (post Perry) what his pants were made out of and warned him that they might be flammable. This is all a true story and one of my fondest late ‘90s memories.
We’re very lucky to have a clean, updated stadium here in SLC and have a place to spend our lazy summer evenings. To grab some peanuts, or cotton candy and sit back with friends in the cheap seats. It’s a real treasure!
