Came here for lunch with some friends for the first time and I was very impressed! The food was hot, fresh, delicious, and plentiful given the price. I enjoyed the hilariously-named Doquitos which are a deep-fried crispy donor-taquito hybrid and which can be stuffed with a beef-lamb combo or chicken(I went with chicken). It was served on top of a bed of Mediterranean salad with enormous chunks of feta cheese and a couple pepperoncinis. Way good, and I appreciate them for not skimping on the cheese. My husband ended up with one of the beef-lamb donor sandwiches with the pita sticks and hummus as a side. I didn’t get a chance to try his sandwich(though he really liked it) but the pita sticks stole my heart. Hummus was just okay, but I’d go back to Spitz in a heartbeat for the pita anytime. Fried, crispy, and flavorful(unlike some other pita I’ve had from other establishments). Outdoor seating was great on such a beautiful day — open enough for a breeze but covered overhead from the hot sun. Only major complaint is that one of the servers was very friendly and helpful while the other acted like we were inconveniencing her when we went in for refills. Waited til she went on break to get another one. The music was also a bit obnoxiously loud making it hard to focus on the conversation in our group, but that’s minor. I have no idea if this is authentic or not and frankly, I don’t care. It was awesome and I’m not gonna question why.

Dont think its as amazing as all the reviews make it out to be but not bad. I got the street cart doner. It was solid, but could have used a lil more meat. The 8.75 price tag wasnt too bad. You can also get a pint for 4 bux which is pretty good. They had a pretty good selection of craft beers. The whole ordering thing is kind of weird. You pay upfront like at carls jr., and they bring it out to you. It gets weird when you order a beer and decide to stay longer cause if the line is huge then you are essentially getting back in this huge line for just one beer lol Maybe you can just get a refill if you are sitting at the front/bar area i’m really not sure. Anyways, me being from california, i dont think it was that special for me to ever come back, but it’s a solid meal for someone who lives in the area.

Came here expecting some delicious tasty Mediterranean food but came to find that they only had falafel. Talk about ruining my night. I also ordered a combo meal with a drink but was not given the drink. To put the cherry on top my friend ordered a beer with a giant chip in this glass and almost cut his lip open. Quality and safety are obviously not a concern of these people. They just try to cash in on the hipster crowd but this place is full of a bunch of kooks.

This was my second time stuffing my face at Spitz. It was even better the second time around. My Feta Donor was one fat sandwich of good taste. Bloody Maria’s went down with a touch of caliente. Service was friendly, with a dose of tattoo hipness, charm, and nonchalance. I loved the cool tude, and she was fun and engaging. The Spitz buddies just opened up a restaurant two weeks ago in Minneapolis, where my daughter lives. She’s getting married in October and Spitz caters. Can you think of a better midnight snack at a wedding reception after a day and night of liquid celebration? Donor Kebob Heaven baby!

Patio is really nice if it was cleaned up. Seemed only one guy doing everything the night we went. Took our order, made our drinks, brought out food. He was really good for a one man show. Taquitos were surprisingly good. Try them as an appetizer. Why the loss of stars. Food gave us upset stomachs the next day. Never a good sign. Parking is street or garage, pain in the ass.

Love this place! Casual, artistic atmosphere, delicious food, good beer selection, and good music playing. I come here every time I travel to SLC. Great for lunch or super casual dinner. The wraps are bomb. The street fries are FIRE! Oh, did I mention how affordable this place is?! I think this place deserves at least 4.5 for the vibe and value. Let’s see if my 5 stars can push the average up.

Hands down one of the best lunches in SLC. Doner kebab wrap — mixed meat with a side of side-car fries. Super delish and super filling(share the fries fo sho) Salads are legit too. Super hip vibe/atmosphere. Great drink options /bar. Sassy staff. Great outdoor seating. Keep it up gang!

People watching at its best! Where else can you get funky Mediterranean food while watching hockey and listening to jazz?! Our food was out quickly but none of the wait staff had a personality but maybe that’s a Hipster code of conduct; not to smile. We did have to ask for our sweet potato fries which they forgot. All in all; if you want a Med Food Truck experience without chasing down the truck, come here!

Awesome mediterranean food including falafel(very close to the real deal– Try it!) and their salads. Not five because the service can get much better!

I came here with a couple of my colleagues for lunch and got the street cart fries with mixed meat and mixed fries. It was covered with feta cheese, bell peppers, banana peppers, fresh tomatoes and onions! It was also smothered in an aioli sauce. Once you mix it up, it’s heavenly! It’s some of the best fries I’ve ever had and one of my favorites here. The portion is generous. I had some leftovers for lunch the other day. I’d definitely recommend the street cart fries if you come here! :)

Not so great-I ordered online for take out. I got to the restaurant, and they hadn’t started my order yet. No big deal, but just getting someone to acknowledge my presence was a big deal. I waited for my order, listening to obscene music with the«f» word being the prevalent theme. I’m not a prude, but even I was offended. The food seemed to be tossed together without much thought or care. And, it was cold. Not so great.

Such a cute place in Downtown Salt Lake! If you’re looking for a casual lunch or dinner with a Mediterranean twist, be sure to check Spitz out! The interior is pretty hipster with the décor and little succulents on each table. The food is amazing as well, but can be dry. The popular döner wraps are delicious, but I would prefer if they added more sauce to enhance the flavors. But overall five stars for atmosphere and taste!

My wife and I wanted a light lunch so we split the Street Cart Doner with Beef and Lamb from Spitz SLC and it was awesome. The tsatsiki sauce and garlic aioli were exceptional, the lavash chips added a subtle but pleasant crunch, the meat was perfectly seasoned and the wrap was rolled nice and tight. Great veggies too. I wish the paper they deliver the wrap in were a different color from the meat, but that’s merely a quibble. Loved the Doner. In lieu of fries, we had the Crispy Garbanzos with Olives, which weren’t a fave but were still a nice departure from the norm. Many were fried super crispy as intended but some were also chalky, so it was a bit like Russian roulette every time we went in for a finger-full. The olives were a nice touch but they couldn’t rescue from the chalkiness. The buildout was cool and the wild red«chandelier» over the communal table inside was particularly notable.

I walked into this place looking for authentic doner kabobs(see my Unilocal slogan!) and that’s where the disappointment started. I knew from looking at the menu that I wasn’t going to get that. After having many throughout Europe and in Glendale(CA) this didn’t hold a candle to the real thing. Don’t get me wrong… it wasn’t bad but when you call something a ‘doner’ then it better be the real deal, otherwise call it a gyro in a wrap or whatever. All I know is I did not get a doner kabob no matter what it was called on the menu.

Spitz is A-OK. I like most of their food and I really love the atmosphere and card games on the tables(Cards Against Humanity! AND Uno if you have young’ns). However, I was really disappointed to learn that Spitz is a chain restaurant started in Southern California with very little difference in branding and food options. I have tried a number of items on the menu. The wraps are better than the sandwiches, only because they are easier to eat(sandwich buns fall apart) even though sometimes the paper wrapping is tucked into the wrap itself — annoying. The fries are all very good but I think the regular fries go better as street cart fries than the sweet potato fries. I found the falafel a bit lacking and too crumbly for my taste. I do love their flavored water!

LOVE Spitz! The downtown location is just a 3min walk from where I work so I’m a frequent luncher. My go-to: the sweet potato street cart fries, loaded. That’s what a crave from here and I honestly figure it’s a perfectly acceptable lunch … even if it is fries, sweet potatoes aren’t the worst health wise and it’s so loaded with meat and diced veggies that I’m more filled up eating this than most sandwiches. They are amazing. Also good — the Doquitos(these are larger than may be expected though so after one wasteful order of 4, I now get a max of 2, which then makes them also a good value); the Donner plate is of course delicious, as are the falafels. Tip: I pull«surprise me» orders sometimes and in doing so, a few different employees have recommended avoiding the chicken as a meat choice … nobody says it is bad but they say the others are just so much better, so I always get lamb and it is great! Love that they have cucumber water available to free pour. Yum. Atmosphere — very quirky cool casual. Definitely not like a fancy or nice place, but a fun unique twist with some crazy graffiti artwork and light fixtures. GREAT lunch spot.

I have to give this place 5 stars Atmosphere great Company the best Cleanliness wonderful Games to play, love that. did a few rounds of uno while we waited for our food The food… Off the charts. My hubby was a little nervous but he loved it. he got the street dooner on focaccia bread with beef and lamb. I got the chicken dooner salad that is so big and so yummy you don’t need dressing on it. Seriously so good! So fresh and so much of it. We tried the street fries with mixed sweet potatoes and regular and it is so yummy! We will for sure go back.

Tasty food — and I ordered the doner and fries as they seem to be a specialty. I would come back, as would my son(who lived in Israel and craves a decent doner). Cool interior. Cons: the long wait; the unfriendly laissez-faire attitude of the staff; pricey fries.

After coming back here a few more times, the food has grown on me. It is definitely not a legitimate doner kebab, but it is still tasty. I have found that the sandwich version of their doner is much better than the wrap version. There is a little more substance to it, and the sauce is not as overwhelming. There fries are still delicious as well, the regular and the sweet potato. The best part is the delicious aioli that comes with the fries. I also tried their falafel, which comes with a really good yogurt sauce, it was good as well.
