Sundance Catalog Outlet

This review is for the SUNDANCE CATALOGUE OUTLET store on Highland Drive in Sugar House. I put this in caps because so many reviews here are for the catalogue and not the store itself. The store has great stuff and terrific deals can be had if you watch out for the sales. The sales assistances are nice and professional. Some return policies are rough but this has nothing to do with the good people who work there. Remember you are shopping at a OUTLET store and not Nordstrom’s.

Not enough time! Had I been with my Sis, I would still be there. In other words, if your spouse is not a shopper, go with someone else. Great clothing, dishes, shoes, just a lot of beautiful things way below catalog cost. Friendly staff, we were greeted upon entering and all questions answered gracefully. I will return if I am going through Salt Lake.

I love their rings! And boots! And clothes! And bedding! You can get some good deals if they are having sales on their outlet prices, which are still high. Parking can be cramped so go at off hours. Most employees are helpful. Some items are final sale; the rest you can return or exchange within 30 days.

I came in today to just browse around and ended up buying three pairs of shoes and a ring. Everything was an additional 30% off today. There’s a small room on the right side of the store that had some killer deals. I found three pairs of shoes that totaled $ 52 from an original $ 600! I’m sure they were just good finds and that you won’t get that every day, but it was awesome. Everyone was friendly. There are sections that are disorganized, but if you’re willing to dig, you’ll find some awesome deals! This is a true outlet store, though it does have some regularly priced items.

I should have read the reviews here, before purchasing anything from them online. Followed their sizing chart, it turned out to be absolutely off! Send the item for the exchange, waited 3 weeks in total, and now they tell me that the item I want is out of stock! Of course, it has been 3 weeks since I saw it. What a bad, bad customer service. I feel ripped off with their ridiculous shipping costs now. Never, never again. Oh, and they did not publish my review too!

After reading the reviews, I almost did not go to the outlet. I disagree with the reviews! The outlet had great deals and the staff was nice. I found plenty of deals and if I lived in the area, I would go regularly. This store is definetly worth going to. If you are one to return things, just read their policy (as you should do with all stores!!) and you will love it.

Sundance has some nice women’s clothes as well as jewelry – the customer service is another story. Their offerings aren’t cheap, and neither are the shipping costs, but for returns they use a cut-​rate shipper. I had to exchange a dress for size, and the return took an absurd 3 weeks. I know they’re in Utah, but the Pony Express was faster than that. By the time they finally received and recorded the return, the item in the size I wanted was sold out. The lesson: Be sure the item will fit, or don’t order it. You’ll only be wasting your time. BTW, if you return rather than exchange, an add’ll shipping charge comes out if your refund.
On the upside, the models in their catalogs are pretty. Maybe Redford himself picks them out!

Absurd shipping costs.
I will never buy anything from Sundance again. The stuff is cute, quality is low and the shipping costs are insulting. When I reviewed a hat that I bought for $ 38 and paid $ 17 for shipping, I complained about the obviously unreasonable shipping costs. They rejected my review as it didn’t «meet their requirements.» Bottom line: they’re censoring their reviews.
I’ll shop Amazon, Zappos, etc. companies that care about their customers.

I received their catalog and was excited to buy a nice pair of sandals. But when I went to check out, the 7 day shipping costs were $ 18.95. I called and verified that this wasn’t a mistake. That’s insulting. It felt like I was being tested to see if I’d really agree to pay those shipping costs on top of the $ 125 for the sandals. No thanks.

Very poor customer service!!! I can buy cute clothes anyplace. Customer service is KEY. Shame on you Robert Redford.
Every time I order, the item is always on back order. The expected arrival date is always wrong. I am currently on week 6 of waiting for a pair of shoes. Going to cancel if they don’t arrive this week. Not worth the hassle for their prices!!! BOOOOOO!!!

Seriously shocked by the low reviews. I read a couple and most seem to be related to the online store and not the physical location.
They have so many great things here. I love the jewelry and home goods especially. I work up the street so stop in often for a browse.

Do not purchase any items by catalog from Sundance! This review is about Sundance catalog customer service and product quality from their catalog. I ordered a shirt, it was poor quality. I decided to try a different shirt. I returned the $ 100.00 shirt and with the return sent my CC and ordered a $ 138.00 shirt. I thought since I was exchanging for another, more expensive shirt, it would be an easy upgrade. This company charged me $ 20.00 for the first poor quality order, there was NO credit for the exchange AND since it was an exchange they won’t process the order for 3 – 4 weeks! I still have no shirt. I have a credit card bill. HORRIBLE CATALOG MAIL Service with outrageous policy charges. BEWARE! Too expensive to experiment with this one.

This review is about their return services for items purchased through the catalog. It takes 3 – 4 weeks for them to acknowledge receipt of the return and another 3 – 4 weeks to credit your card. I returned an item the day after Christmas and still have not gotten a refund.

I have never been to an in-​person store, so this review is solely for online purchases and mostly just the customer service, which SUCKS. Honestly, you would think with the prices of the items combined with someone being a loyal customer and having spent hundreds of dollars with them, they would honor things like free return shipping on items that have defects. Not only do they not provide customer service, they are downright rude and nasty about it. The associates all have attitudes and take the «how dare you ask for compensation» mindset. It’s truly unfortunate because I have purchased some of my favorite pieces from Sundance. However, I will no longer be making any purchases– I can’t stomach supporting a place with such terrible customer service. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

I had no clue Sundance had an outlet. While in town visiting a friend looking for another place, we found this place. She’s a new transplant and didn’t know this place existed. We were in HEAVEN!!! Yes, you have to dig. Big harry deal. If you’re not into digging, don’t shop outlets.

Dont let the name deceive you, there are no ‘outlet’ prices. I do not get the catalog so i cant even imagine what the original prices are. I go to look at all the pretty boots and jewelry and thats all i have done is looked. It seems all the boots are over $ 300 even tho they are discounted. Clothing is a cross between chico’s and Rei. Very yuppy. Maybe one day i wont be so cheap and shell out some cash but when the rack is up the street with Frye boots, i rather use my Nordstrom card.

As a casual observer and one who orbits way outside of the target consumer of this, I as always confused – or at the very least, misinformed – about what the Sundance Catalog is. You can’t say Sundance around SLC and not immediately think Film Fest, so when I very first noticed the place years ago, I thought it was an outlet for independent movies.
Oh, silly me.
Here’s the skinny: The Sundance Catalog is indeed the brainchild of Mr. Redford and the — yes, THE — Sundance Film Festival. What began as a way to buy some stuff that was seen at the festival has grown to a big ol’ catalog full of clothing and jewelry and other sparkly things.
The catalog goes out all over, but here in SLC we have the catalog outlet store. For bonus points, there are actually other retail stores (CO and CA), though this SLC location is the only outlet store. And now you know.
So what can you expect here? Well, just because it’s an outlet, doesn’t mean it’s cheap. In my penny-​scrimping ways, the stuff here is a bit pricey. But I’m not sure I’d ever call it exorbitant or luxurious. It’s mostly simple styles with quality materials. And the outlet knocks some dough off the overall retail pricing.
I’ve not had a problem with service, but I haven’t ever gotten serious enough about making a purchase to really deal with them. I’m a browser. And sometimes it’s just fun to walk through the nice things.

This is one of those businesses that I really wanted to like. But my experiences here have made me decide never to shop here again.
Really the best part of this shop is the jewelry counter and they have a lot of nice designs. The clearance area is also ok if you are careful about what you buy.
But the quality of the merchandise is highly questionable and the staff cannot be trusted.
I purchased a $ 400 leather jacket. Quite spendy but it was the perfect gift. The first day it was worn, the zipper broke; clearly a manufacturing issue. When I tried to return the item (within 3 days of purchase) I was told NO. My husband then talked to the manager who said Yes, return for no problem. When I show up to return the item I am told that no returns, buy at your own risk, no guarantees on products.
Now, I understand that it is an outlet and there may be some merchandise that is abnormal… however these should be marked as such. A $ 400 jacket should be a product that the company stands by.
This is not the only bad experience I have had at this store but it was the last straw. I no longer shop here and I can find better jewelery items from local artisans.

Upon culling through my numerous junk snail mail, in addition to email spam, the sun was dancing inside for a tease in their printed catalog. Sundance Catalog is a mail order business of women’s clothing, women jewelry and shoes with a flirtatious flair which fits my seductively sweet style. Gift boxes are ridiculously priced at $ 6.50 with one simple bow but no pleats of gift wrap paper! I like their simple classic ballet shoes.
Where there is sun there is hope for inner happiness to surface.
