Be careful buying food from here. Especially frozen items, I bought a 52 dollar bag of shrimp that was freezer burnt. Called them to see if I could bring it back. They said it’s against the law for them to take back perishable items. So in other words they can sell you rotten and freezer burnt food but won’t accept it back. Smh I will never shop here again. I hope they are closed down soon. Hell if Walmart sells you bad food they take it back so why is this store under different laws.

This place is kind of weird. I moved to the west side a couple of months ago and I’ve been exploring my grocery store options. This place, Smith’s, Rancho, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. The big strength this place has is in its organ meat selection: hearts and livers and kidneys, OHMY! So much to explore, so many recipes to make. But other than that, I don’t know. The place feels like a grocery store version of Home Depot on the inside in that it looks like a warehouse and it’s organized so that it takes half an hour to find anything(that is, not very well). Then the other day one of the employees walked up to me and said, «You work out every other day, right?» I’m not sure if he was commenting on my physique or the container of chicken livers I was holding at the time, but it was strange regardless. Aaaaaand on top of all that, Smith’s and Rancho are both quite a bit closer to me, so unless I have a need for organ meats, I will be sticking with those two.

This review is for the packaged goods. My friends bought some energy bars and chips and they were all expired. The chips and energy bars were two years and six months respectively past the expiration date. I would go here only for the fresh fruit and vegetables.

The only place in SLC I have found chuck eye steaks. FYI chuck eye steaks are the poor man’s version of a ribeye not to be confused with chuck roasts. Prices here are good on meat and produce. The store is dated and sort of reminds of the old food for less chain. Also you bag your own groceries.

I liked the layout, prices, friendliness and parking availability at this place. Everything was pretty easy to find, although I somehow missed the beer section. The prices were much lower than what I’m used to back in Jersey, the cashier had to be the happiest cashier I’ve ever encountered. And parking was no problem.

What can I say, this place is the closest store to my house so I was forced by necessity to give it a go. WHAT A FIND!!! This store has some of the most fresh produce, and best prices on things. I was shocked. It may not be in the best neighbor hood, and it may not be the best looking from it’s exterior but if you’re looking for fresh produce, and good prices you have to check this place out! A for sure diamond in the rough!

Wow! This is place was SUCH a bargain hunter’s find. I was searching online for a place to buy groceries. And found this place. Everything here was SO reasonably priced. Vegetables were really fresh. The guys in the meat department were really friendly. They even have some Polynesian items that I never seen in the Bay Area. With about $ 100 I was able to feed 6 people for a week and still have WAY too much food left over. I will definitely come back here when I’m in town.
