Tacos Daniel is in the food court of Valley Fair mall and I’ve noticed that a lot of the mom and pop stands in this food court are hit or miss. Tacos Daniel is a definite hit. I can remember the first time I went and ordered food here. I bit into the crisp and melty quesadilla and the carne asada was as soft and tender as the cheese. I was in a mild state of shock. Once I got over the shock, it took me two minutes flat to devour it. I generously gave my husband a bite and he was instantly regretful he went with chinese food. Since that fateful day, I have gone back many times and tried their burritos(smothered AND original), as well as their tacos. They also have a salsa bar with three flavors that are mild, medium, hot. The funny thing is that the salsas spiciness varies and one day the green salsa will be mild when the next week it will be super spicy. I’m assuming it’s because they make it themselves. The salsa bar also has all the trimmings like cilantro, onions, limes, pickled carrots, radishes, etc. Their carne asada is really tender and there is hardly any gristle which is a common issue I have with a lot of taco places. Also, there’s usually only two people working; a small dark haired woman who handles the register and doesn’t really speak english and a thin dark haired man(who I assume is Daniel?). If there’s more than one person in line, the man at the grill will point at you and ask you what you want to eat. Just go with it. They try to keep the line pretty short which I really appreciate and the food is consistenly amazing.

Unexpectedly good. They have excellent green chile and flavorful meat options. The street tacos are legit. This place is a bit of a hidden treasure. Try it out.

Street Style Tacos in the mall, yes please. Tacos Daniel has opened a new location in the Valley Fair mall. I got the lunch special four tacos and a drink for $ 5.95. I tried the Asada, Pollo and Al Pastor. Prompt friendly service, tacos grilled fresh after ordering, good amount of meat, fresh tortillas and an extensive salsa/condiment bar all made for a good lunch. The asada was tender and flavorful as was the Al Pastor but with a bit more spice, the chicken was good but not as good as the others. They have four or more salsas on the condiment bar, red, green, fresco, cheese all were tasty. I found the lunch special to be a good deal, it was nice getting street tacos in the mall setting.
