Website says they are open until 2 am on Thursday but voicemail says 1 am. There’s no way to talk to anyone — call goes directly to voicemail… Oh and the mailbox is full.

I like this little intimate spot. Live music on Saturdays. Great crowd and vibe. Big variety of cocktails and 3 beers on tap. Prices are ok, on par with other places. Staff is nice and quick. Lost one star because of parking but if you are staying at the Hotel Monaco, i would swing by this place.

Came here after a couple years of hearing about it. The atmosphere is chill and the live dj on friday night plays good jams. Haven’t had a drink yet so this review might be a little premature but overall its a nice place to chill eith friends. Only down side i can see is during the winter there is limited seating indoors. The staff is friendly and gives you a good few minutes to browse the menu instead of bombarding you.

This place is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I’ve been looking for a nice place that gives me the feeling of a true lounge(Like back in Atlanta). A nice classy place to go for a drink without absurdly loud music and crazy drunk people around. We went on a super slow night: Monday. There was maybe a total of 8 people in the entire bar. The place is super cozy and intimate with the sofas and small tables. We opted to sit at the bar where the bartender mixed my peach martini to perfection. Their martini menu is extensive and makes you want to try them all. I will definitely be going back on a weekday for a post work drink or a quick little date night with the boyfriend.

Great chose if you want a place to sit and relax. Have a glass of wine or a martini. We loved it so much we went back to back nights.

The Red Door on a weekday offers a relaxing atmosphere. One in which you can carry a conversation without it being blurred out by music and/or noisy patrons. The Martinis however still remain on point regardless of whether you choose to visit on a weekday or weekend.

Well, the arrogance from the door guy is less than welcoming. Slow service. Our waiter got both of our drink orders wrong. Drinks were shitty.

Not like the rest of salt lake. It’s an alternative scene, cocktail bar. Really good drinks. Try the key lime pie cocktail.

It’s hard for me to give out 5 stars unless a place really goes above an beyond, but they are a strong 4 stars. Fantastic atmosphere for date night or just catching up with friends. They’ve got a rather large selection of specialty cocktails. I’ve tried close to a dozen and don’t have anything negative to say about any of them. Two of the better sweet ones are the Epsresso or Girlscout Martini. But they make a good dirty Vodka one too. Sometimes they even have blue cheese stuffed olives for it. On Fridays or Saturdays they usually have a band or sometimes a DJ. The band is always like a smooth Jazz band that plays top 40 hits with Jazz instruments. You’ll be sitting there and like, wait I know this song, it could be Rap, Rock, 50 cent or beyonce, but they do a great rendition. They used to be membership Notzies but I think that’s gone away. Make sure you don’t forget your ID, you’ll likely be asked for it!

Came here on a Friday night. $ 2 cover. Interesting price. The DJ was rocking some chill music, perfect for lounging and drinking. We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and we were satisfied with our service. Around the bar area there was a lot of couches, tables, and even outdoor seating. I’d say this place is a good place to hang out.

Been on a long trip and needed a place to unwind and relax with more options than margaritas and beer! Red door was perfect. It’s focus is martinis and they have the traditionals as well has very unique creative ones! I had one traditional(dirty) and one non-traditional(Green T). Both were well crafted and delicious. Partner had a Manhattan and a shaken daquiri. Also — spot on! Not a lot of rum to choose from but plenty of options for vodka, gins, tequila and bourbons. We sat at the bar and we watched the two skilled bartenders hard at work — Dustin was our guy and he expertly crafted 8 different matinis for one party. Lots of dessert ones — Dirty Girl Scout, pistachio ect. Next time in Salt Lake City, I’ll be back for sure! 4 stars because no real food options but drinks are 5 stars!

The Red Door is one of my favorite bars in downtown Salt Lake. My friends and I have added this to our bar crawl after discovering it on accident. I love the vibe in this bar. It’s relaxed and cozy and upscale without being pretentious. The tables and couches are pretty packed in, so it’s a tight squeeze, but it hasn’t been such an issue where I can’t stand it. Normally I hate bars with bands in it, but the Red Door always has really cool and chill bands playing and I really appreciate that. They also don’t turn the volume all the way to 11. The band dudes are always really nice too. They smiled at me and said«thanks for coming out!» when we left, and it was such a nice gesture. Thanks band guys. I love you too. Red Door has amazing drinks. I stick with the fruity martinis, like the Peach one, and I’m always tempted to branch out, but it’s so good. The others sound delicious and my friends and I have yet to be disappointed by their service or drinks. Also, there’s no fancier way to drink than listening to smooth jazz and sipping something out of a martini glass with some candles around.

Great Martinis but the service was unwelcoming and blank! I really don’t know what her problem was? She didn’t welcome us, she rushed us and made us feel unwelcome! The music wasn’t jazz, it was early 2000 hipster douche-bag ‘records that were old old old! I would not recommend this place for a fun atmosphere and happy time! BTW:The dead monkey doesn’t make this place cool and either does Che Guevara makes it douche bag!

I’ve been looking high and low for an awesome bar to fit 3 criteria: 1) Live music, 2) Great drinks, and 3) Chill people — and not some fresh faced 21 year olds who scream, get drunk, fight, puke all over the floor, and then slip/fall into their own vomit and pass out — although it is amusing. Came here for my buddy’s birthday. I didn’t know what to expect from their suggestion of «The Red Door,» but as I stood outside in the pouring rain like a B-class actor in a low budget Korean drama film, I scanned the inside as best I could — dark. I walked in. Small. Crowded. You know this place would be bumpin’ if they had a bigger capacity, but it would have to do since the gang had already assembled. After 20 minutes, a table finally opened up, and we swooped into grab it before the other 2 parties could react. This is when the real review begins. Live entertainment literally began setting up and playing their first set when we placed our order(band: Swantourage), and they were playing tunes from the 90’s and today. Sweet, live music — check! Next, the service. Waitress was kick ass! She was attentive, and made sure we got our money’s worth of the good stuff — oh, and the crowd was fun and lively at their respective tables, helping to keep the energy flowing — chill people, check! And of course — their drinks were bomb!(Red Door is known for their martini’s). If I’m downtown on the weekend and need any of the above — Red Door awaits! I’ll be back!

After deciding we didn’t want to go to a bar with a bunch of wasted kids and loud music, my wife found The Red Door online. We arrived the same time as the Dave Bowen Orchestra was getting ready to start their set, and snatched up the only table left in the room. The atmosphere was great, the band was amazing, the service was decent, and the drinks were delicious. For such a small place(49 patron max.) it was fascinating to see how self regulating the seating was. It was standing room only the entire time we were there, yet hardly anyone needed to stand. Overall we were very pleased and will definitely return. Martinis we had(all 5 star): Monkey Love The Modified Mojito The James Bond

Super fun. Laid back. There was a weird taxidermy monkey on the wall i would like to steal but i’m too old for those antics anymore. The drinks were fun. There was d.j. there but i’m not sure if thats a regular thing. Love the location and the service.

Red Door is the place to go in Salt Lake City for martinis. Red Door features an extensive, if not the largest list of martinis in Salt Lake City. They feature traditional martinis, very creative martinis, and also other mixed drinks and beer. Red Door has the ambiance too. The dark lit room with highlights of red on the walls make you feel like you are in New York City(in fact they were written up in the NYTimes). My favorite drinks are the classics such as the Manhattan, dry martini, and even the Vesper from the Bond movies. The service is generally great, but when they are busy prepare to wait for your drink. It is well worth it though as all of their drinks are delicious except the warm martinis. The only downside for Red Door is parking as SLC is becoming busier at night. This is not that big of a deal though because downtown is so small. No need to buy food here, which is a plus. The cost ranges from $ 8-$ 12 for a martini. My favorite spot in the Red Door are the couches. I would recommend Red Door for you fancy drink selection and even to grab drink before or after a show at the Capitol Theatre across the street. So grab a drink before dinner, a show, or just grab a drink and have fun.

I adore this place. The drinks are a little on the expensive side but the ambiance and the yummyness of the drinks make up for it. The venue is pretty small so it fills up fast but if you go early or late it’s not too bad. The first time we went it was earlier in the evening(around seven) so it wasn’t too crowded after a while a band started setting up so more people started coming in at that point and we left before it got too crowded. The next time we went, a few months later, it was at the very end of the night; it wasn’t overwhelmingly full but there were plenty of people so we ended up sitting on the patio and it was pretty much the perfect end to the night.

One of my favorite spots to grab a drink in Salt Lake City. Mouth watering martini’s and a great wine selection. My favorite martini is the methadrone. It’s not on the menu anymore but they will still make it for you. Weeknights are my favorite because it’s not as crowded. Better come early on a weekend night because this place gets packed and you’ll wait a while to get a seat. However the live music on the weekends makes it worth the wait. If you can go on a night that they have Erica singing you won’t regret it, she is amazing!
