Not a place I would return to. The place is not set up to be putting on a concert. Also, the drinks are overpriced for what you get. I was going to try some food. However, the person eating near me recommend I do not. Not a good place to overpay.

My first visit was on a slow Tuesday night for open mic. The venue was clean, the men’s room smelled clean, the bartender was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the pesto calzone.

The bar tenders are very friendly and make you feel welcome. They book great shows and draw an awesome crowd. This is also a fun place to go for lunch or dinner. The food is awesome!

No. Came here for brunch with the girls and ordered food. Server took 15 minutes to greet us. Our breakfast calzone did not have any eggs, onions were raw and cold and so were the fries. We changed it to a breakfast pizza which has been«in the oven» for 40 minutes. The excuse was they have a new chef in the kitchen. There was a piece of foil in out mimosa which, according to the server, «it’s happened twice today.» The 3 dollar cocktails tasted like water and ice. Never again.

Such a sad excuse for a bar/concert venue. Paid for tickets to see an actual show(Peter Bradley Adams) and the mellow tunes were completely drowned out by asshole frat boys there for«football night.» Shouldn’t a concert be closed to people that didn’t buy a concert ticket? We are never going back and I would advise others against going there too. Also, if you are a musical act, don’t risk it! Never agree to perform there. You’ll be heckled by the peanut gallery who are there to harass and annoy your fans – and they didn’t even have to buy a ticket to your show! But somehow they’ll be there ruining it! What kind of business owner thought up such a plan? It makes no sense. I hope they go out of business.

You guys put on an amazing show last night! Such a pleasure to interact with all of you and see you in your element. The Royalis such a wonderful bar/venue. The mac & cheese was heaven, and even when POS went down and the place was packed to the gills, it was still a smooth, wonderful experience! I had such a blast! Welcome back guys, have a good tour!

The Royal is a hidden gem. Tucked away behind a shopping mall, lined by a creek and some trees, The Royal is a full-force music venue, bar, and restaurant. The food is pretty good, drinks are reasonably priced, and they book tons of great bands. The owners are musicians themselves, so they know what they’re doing: they treat musicians and fans with respect(a rare treat with music clubs these days). Out back there’s an entire patio that runs along the creek where you can eat and drink if it gets too loud inside. The layout of The Royal is really cool, there’s sunken booths on the main floor and an entire balcony with a second bar for overflow. It’s a great place to spend a Friday or Saturday night!

I was there for Royal Bliss’ 17th anniversary, it was over capacity. The bartenders couldn’t handle the crowd and after being in line for 15 minutes, I discovered why the line wasn’t moving. The bartender upstairs was giving preference to people who weren’t even in line. I called his attention to the fact that people have been waiting in line but he didn’t care. Shame that bad service ruined the night. And since they over-packed the place, I couldn’t breathe in there and left before midnight.

The food is really great. I was surprised for a bar just how good it was. The patio if nice. Great shows. And the employees seem nice.

Great bar awesome patio! Open Mic on Tuesdays is the best in town. The sound for live music is better than most live music bar venues. Pretty much every night is something different and entertaining. My go to a couple nights a week.

Very fun and relaxing outside on the patio with a good drink and listening to the creek that runs by. Came here for the first time for my 21st birthday and had a great time with all of my friends and cousins. Friendly and fun crowd that comes in here and they are always playing good music.

Great bar/grill, and very convenient for me. I’ve been here about 6 times and all has been great. They had live music the last time I was in, good local talent from how I perceived it. All in all a well rounded bar/grill, and it’s nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the cottonwood creek!

This bar sums up my reaction to just about all Utah bars. First – it’s so small! I’m constantly amazed at the light turnout for live music here in the Beehive state, though. Second – waitress? What is that? Though no one will bring you a drink, the bartenders will promptly remove your empty, or almost-empty glass. Hard to dance when you have to guard your beverage and your table. We were there for reggae Memorial Day evening. The place is clean and nice, the patio is gorgeous, the stage is respectable. But the tall tables and stools wobble.

This is my Favorite bar in SLC!!! Such great food such incredible service. The Waitress remembered my name and drink after 1 visit. I love the food its all good. This place is part owned by the local rock band Royal Bliss and my favorite part of the whole joint is the stage and sound system, I have seen some great local music here and enjoy the great atmosphere. People watching here is fun! the bar upstairs is run well the whole place is run well ! The smoking section or back porch is so cool the river runs right behind the building providing privacy

Perfect for a weeknight burger. Their Mac and cheese burger is my favorite but all the others are very comparable. They have a full bar with friendly service. I’m peering around and seeing a beer bar off to the side and there’s another full bar upstairs. I don’t know if I would come to a concert here, the bands they line up aren’t my flavor. But they could surprise me.

Make sure that you wear your deepest v neck and or zebra printed tube top when you come here on a Saturday night. I had a good time here with the company I was with, we spend most of the night people watching and oh my… what a bunch of hot messes. If you’re on the cougar hunt… this is the den! I saw 3 girls fall right on their face trying to twerk. I cant say I was not entertained. They turned the lights on at 1 am and politely suggested everyone GTFO right away. I was not impressed with it at all and I wouldn’t go here again on my own accord. The one redeeming thing was that our waitress was really cool and fast. Maybe I went on an off night?

We were celebrating our softball loss, 16 – 2 was the final score, and were not really wanting to be out in the heat after our game. But the bartender suggested the patio, which is covered by trees and a nicely built gazebo — needless to say we were comfortable and relaxed. They have completely remodeled the place — so I have been told, and the staff was extremely friendly. I never came here prior, but everyone in the group I was with said they would come here again. There is also a creek running alongside the back of the patio which added a nice little touch of nature to our beer venture, and I did not even get bit by one mosquito(those suckers love me!).

This a great place for food and libations. Sit by the creek on the back patio and just enjoy the sounds. It’s like an oasis in the city. I have been here a few times with friends and brothers to enjoy some beer and burgers and always had a great time. The wait staff is very friendly and they do a great job of staying on top of the orders. I usually get the Baba stout on tap as I like my beer like I like my President(strong, smooth and black). The interior is very nice and open giving it a feeling of vastness that belies it’s exterior dimensions(it’s like the TARDIS in that respect… hey don’t judge me for know that). The back patio is the place to be though, lots of trees and right by the creek so the soothing sounds will take you away to a childhood memory faster than a John Hughes film. Now the food, I have only ever had the Hangover Burger because it is AWESOME. Onion straws, bacon, a fried egg and juicy beef all on top of a crispy, soft bun, it is heaven. They have several other burgers that are not your everyday bar food so give em a try and let me know. I am curious about the Mac & Cheese burger I have heard it is amazing. I like to go down on Sunday and enjoy the lunch just be aware the bartender is a great bartender but not the most attentive waiter I have ever seen there. So if you see the fat Irish guy sitting out there having a stein of dark beer and burger feel free to buy me another stein… seriously buy me a beer I am broke and I am trying to keep this local bar in business.

Sad that this place keeps changing names. Saw Dick Dale last night and it was awesome. Parking is ample, place is big and outdoor patio is really nice. Bartenders were way cool with no attitude. I hope this place does well.
