Staff is always very friendly, helpful and efficient. Price is very competitive. Convenient location. Quick equipment/​rental pick up and drop off. Lots of parking out front.

I love the convenience of the location on the way to the Cottonwood Canyons. Most importantly the staff were so friendly and had my kids outfitted and ready to go quickly.

I went to WSC based on a recommendation from a friend. I knew his recommendation meant they’d be the cheapest, but not much else. Having seen their quarry location on GoogleEarth and the rather, um, «modest» condition of their building, I must say my expectations were not high. However, at the end of our trip, I was singing their praises.
If you’re staying in SLC area and skiing Alta, Brighton, Snowbird, and Solitude, the location of WLC can’t be beat. We arrived at the shop at 8 am (opening time) on a Saturday morning. Granted, this was a slow period in SLC skiing because the snow in late January wasn’t great (for locals, anyway.. . plenty great for an east-​coaster like myself). Little traffic and the three of us skiers were outfitted and out the door in about 30 minutes. We hit the lift lines at Snowbird by 9 am (opening time).
We made many stops at WLC during our four days of skiing to get longer skis, try different boots, get a bigger helmet, buy new goggles. Each time we stopped, the service was immediate and friendly. We joked about «missing them» whenever we drove by without stopping.
We rented the «Sport» package, which is their middle-​of-​the-​road. Totally fine all-​mountain skis. The boots didn’t fit me well, so I was upgraded to a «Performance» boot at no cost.. . this made all the difference as my feet were never cold or uncomfortable again.
I did not check out the skis in their «Performance» package.
The gear wasn’t the newest, but everything worked well and I really enjoyed the people that worked there. And, yes, they were the cheapest. Plus, I love the «pay when your return» practice.
I was an initial skeptic, but WLC will be my go-​to place for my next SLC ski trip.

Rented from this place today and 5 stars. I was so surprised to find how many different items that they rented. Their staff was so nice and new all about what I needed. I am a novice at skiing and the staff here was so patient to go over all of the different options that were available to me. Not only do they carry skis but you can also find protective eye wear (goggles), gloves, hats, lip balm… a true resource at reasonable prices.

I went to this place because they recently had a Groupon deal for ski rentals. They’re located right on Wasatch Blvd on the left after exiting 6200 South off of I-​215. It’s a convenient location right before you hit either of the canyons. They’re located in what looks like a double wide trailer and they’re in front of a rock quarry so its easy to miss. It looks like its the office for the rock quarry. But because of that they weren’t crazy busy any of the times I’ve been in.
They have the normal cheap rental ski rentals which were in the low to mid twenties for ski’s, boots and poles. They also have sport skis they rent for about 10 more.
I recently rented the more expensive sport skis mainly because they asked and I’d never rented nicer skis. It was only a few bucks more so I thought I didn’t have much to lose. I wasn’t terribly happy with them because I was essentially just given the first pair they had availble. I don’t think they were all mountain skis and I wasn’t really asked what I was planning to ski. I made do but, I would have enjoyed the cheaper skis more for what i wanted to ski. I’d make sure if you rent sport skis that they’re good for your planned type of skiing.
One thing that was nice was they seemed to prefer you pay when you return them. I say thats good because it pushed you out the door as fast as possible. Alot of times at other rental places you can spend 30 minutes getting your skis and paying for them. They still take an imprint of your credit card. This is slightly horrifying that places still do this and its potentially against Payment Card Industry standards depending on how much a year you do in card payments. And even when you don’t think about that, there’s still fraud and copying of cards to be concerned about. They gave the imprint back to me when I returned and payed for the rental later in the day.
They also have a limited selection of goggles, glasses and demo equipment to buy.
I’d recommend stopping by here if you need a rental close to the Cottonwood Canyons area. Its quick to pickup and drop off and the prices are about the same or less than the other guys around town.
