I went to Dr Bishop with my animals for years. After moving back we had an issue and of course I went back.
On May 5^th we went in for my Great Dane’s broken tail, seen by Dr Truong. She listened to her heart and lungs, looked at the tail, said she didn’t need an x-​ray (fine) that it was broken. She pinched the end and noted that my dog had NO feeling. I agreed that the nerve damage was so severe that all feeling was gone.
I knew that she would need to have it amputated and was ready for the diagnosis. Much to my amazement, we were given amoxicillin, gen, and rovera, told to make an appt for the following week for a blood panel before surgery.
I called on the 12^th, told them that it was much worse, swelling, oozing blood and we needed to get this done now.
I was told they had an opening a week from Tuesday… the 20^th! Her tail is broken and now is showing signs of infection!
I called my family in Eastern washington, they all go to a vet they respect.
I called Jill Swannack in Sprague, she said she could take her then. I packed up my dog and took her 3 ½ hours east for surgery the next morning.
Dr Swannack was concerned because the tail smelled horrible and was extremely infected. She did a culture and found 2 types of infection — Enterobacter Cloacae & Pseudomonas Aeruginosa — both extremely dangerous and life threatening.
The surgery went well, my girl started healing nicely, then the infection mutated. Now, 28 days later, were fighting infections, dehydration, and anorexia.
If she had been taken in to have the 45 minute surgery on the 5^th of May — she would be running happily in the yard with a short tail. Instead she’s laying around fighting for her life.

Dr. Bishop and his wonderful staff are truly compassionate and caring. They went above and beyond, did little extras, which are duly noted! and took excellent care of our dog. I am so pleased and HIGHLY recommend this clinic.
