Frozen yogurt and a book — they have their similarities. I walked over here on a Sunday afternoon, exploring the neighborhood in some free time, and discovered this quiet, simple room. I had the time, and the sunshine, the cedar, and the nopal cactus delighted my senses along the way. «Feel Good Inside» That’s the name on the door now. I’m not sure it’s a tcby any more. The store locator doesn’t show anything in Marin County. It looks like it may be independently operated; there are very few flavors on the menu. A cup of yogurt(½ chocolate & ½ coffee) and a 12 oz. diet Coke cost me $ 4.95. That’s with a senior discount. It’s interesting to not have to ask. Then I settled down at one of the tables for a good read. Thomas Troward spoke to me from his desk in 1904 in Edinburgh, across time and space. Interestingly, time and space came up in the lecture material. The book was a simple device. There were no batteries, no back buttons, no need for an electrical outlet. It was just him and me, and the paper with his words in my hands. Nurturing my mind and my soul, explaining to me how my physical body was an engine designed to access my soul and Spirit. Teaching me patiently, as I swallowed abstract concepts and assimilated them into my ego. Teaching me there were ways of looking at metaphysics I hadn’t seen before. Healing me mentally along the way. The yogurt was sweet, and I reflected on the culture that must be in it, invisible yet active. Like Mary Poppins’ spoonful of sugar, this couldn’t be yogurt. The yogurt cup was a simple food. There was no frying, cleaning of pans or grills, or washing of dishes afterward. Sweet, sweet smoothie, it gave me more happiness than«98% fat-free» should. Whatever this stuff was, it was teaching me there were ways of looking at food I hadn’t seen before. Healing me physically along the way. Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down In a most delightful way. I am feeling good inside.

TCB-why… Decent fro-yo. Poor topping selection compared to some other places I’ve been. No fresh fruits. Bummer. We ate our yogurt there, and noticed how unkempt the facilities looked. Crumbs and stray toppings on the counters. Cobwebs in the windows. In need of a make over, and fast.

In terms of frozen yogurt that isn’t the fruit variety, its hard to beat TCBY. The yogurt itself is not only good, but the toppings are plenty to choose from the with the most recommended being the great hot fudge. The only downside to this location is that its a little pricey for frozen yogurt, but still overall pretty cheap, and the place always feels a little stuffy(especially when its hot out).

I love TCBY. This place is clean, friendly, and open long hours. The only thing wrong with it is that they do not have a drinking fountain(seriously, what ice cream place doesn’t have a drinking fountain?!). However, I love it so much I will bring my own water :)

Sometimes you crave things that have been processed. I don’t know why, for me it is rainbow sprinkles. I like sprinkles. I had my first visit to TCBY since the late ’80’s yesterday. It was okay, my friend(who is always on a diet, seriously on a diet and is loosing weight) wanted ice cream, but without fat or 96−98% fat free.(if there is no fat, what is in it?) so I went, I ate, I lived. There is no simple vanilla or chocolate, or even the van-choc swirl which I requested. They had white choc. mousse posing for vanilla and dutch chocolate for chocolate, along with dreamsicle, cheesecake and a couple other food with fat named yogurts. It was good but not great. If you get sick of the hippy eat good ice cream in Fairfax this is a decent change of pace.
