Um… NO!!! Me and My boys frequent NY even spend our summers and spring breaks there. The closest pizza I have had to this is Totinos frozen pizza. Not all thin pizza is NY style, and one thing about NY is the cheese and the sauce is quality. I can’t explain what this was.

Pizza is cold upon picking up. We ordered a simple large pepperoni pizza, with chicken Alfredo and the fried mozzarella, the mozzarella was burned, the pizza was extremely salty and cold, the Alfredo was cold. After calling the store to speak to the manager he could care less and explains that picking up the pizza in 30 minutes is «kind of late» and that is the reason why the pizza is cold. Terrible service from the cashier and the manger. Order was placed at 6:46pm and the food was already cold at 7:10. Took too long to pick it up right. If you want pizza take your money elsewhere. If you fuck up and own up to it as a manager and do something to fix it. Not worth the hassle of dealing with the manager doesn’t have enough manners to respond in a courteous manner and speaks like a high schooler. If I could give a worse rating I would.

The food was a little pricey but the quality of the food was excellent. The wings were not soggy, the garlic bread was perfectly cooked, and the gnocchi was excellent. We will definitely try this again

The pizza tastes like little Ceasars to me, just my opinion but I expected a more new York style/taste. The spaghetti however, is faabbbulous. The bread they provide with the spaghetti is a little tough and it always cuts the roof of my mouth. The service is great.

The only pizza place that I can finish the whole slice– crust and all. Excellent New York style and I’m a converter!

It’s you are looking for good pizza this place rocks. Wife and I try to find a way to make it here at lease once a month. Some of the BEST cheese sticks I’ve ever had.

I don’t know what they put in their pizza, but we are addicted to it! And this is after living near NYC for a number of years and spending time in Chicago. This is, hands down, my favorite pizza. Our favorites are the Greek pizza, the buffalo chicken pizza, and the cheese calzone with the marinara sauce. The crust is always perfect and even though I am a cook myself, I have never been able to replicate the perfection of their crust. Everything we have gotten from here over the years has been delicious and the friendliness of the staff and family atmosphere can’t be beat. Overall, we love this place!

While it was a bit on the pricey side $ 12 and change for an Italian sausage calzone, and a small drink, I would certainly come back for the authentic deliciousness that I paid for. Double the size I anticipated, the mozzarella cheese filling, paired with Italian sausage, and flaky, crispy crust, was right at home when dipped in the fresh, zesty, marinara! My girlfriend paid $ 6 and change for two slices of authentic New York style pizza and a small drink, and she was thoroughly satisfied. I would gladly recommend this place!

Walked in to a quiet place walked up and the person taking out order seem to be in a rush as of course this was our first time and we had a lot of questions that didn’t get answered. So my boyfriend just went with a calzone which I feel was slightly burned and overstuffed with cheese he was happy about it me not so much I had the wings they were okay but I’ve had better and they’re mozzarella sticks although were big in shape just didn’t have that nice crust on like we love. This place was good don’t get me wrong but I really was hoping for better

Liked the thin crust pizzas and friendly staff. It’s a place that you can take a friend for a quick lunch!

My wife and I work close by and only had 30 min. for lunch so we just grabbed a few roni sliced and they were phenomenal. The crust was light the perfect sauce to cheese ratio and just enough pep in the roni. We are definitely going to give this a real dinner try and soon. I absolutely recommend this place so much so that when my cousins come to visit from NYC I wouldn’t be ashamed to bring them here for a slice.

Great Pizza! Just ate here and not sure where the negative reviews came from. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and a Texas style pizza(no sauce, just bacon tomatoes and cheese) and both were excellent. Saw someone else eating a salad that looked delicious too… But when I try a restaurant I like to first try what they are know for(or probably do best) and this place didn’t disappoint!

The pizza here is excellent New York Style pie. Thin crust, fresh ingredients and an excellent sauce makes this place stand out from other establishments. The real star here is the giant calzone. It is filled with ricotta, mozzarella and the topping of your choice. Served with a side of their magnificent gravy, attempting to stop after half of the calzone is the real challenge. They serve pizza by the slice at lunch but I’d highly recommend splitting a calzone with your girlfriend. Yum!

In Texas everything is bigger, especially the wait at 46th St. I’ve reason to visit San Antonio occasionally and when the Texas air becomes chilly hitting the pizza joints for Italian fare warmly reminds me of home. Goombas at the Colonnade generously fills this need and I’d hoped 46th St at I-10 might too. I regret that’s not the case, although they get a few kind words for their high-contrast, nostalgia-inspiring, framed posters of famous NY landmarks. I’ve tried calling ahead to order take-out several times but on no occasion do they actually put my order in until I show up at the restaurant. I’ve even offered to pay in advance but the result is always the same. With 46th St there is simply no point in ordering ahead as you must sit and wait for them to cook it upon your arrival. When you’re tired and hungry, 46th St is a waste — they’ll just make you wait … and wait … and wait … and … The name ought to have been a clue: E46th is a food desert and W46th marks the southern edge of Hell’s Kitchen, where restaurants, in their carefully contrived divey-ness, emphasize atmosphere over substance. Judging by the dim vacancies in the eyes of its staff, nobody working for 46th St has ever been to NY(and probably can’t find it on a map …). What about the food? Should you care to wait around for them to put the order in, it’s nothing special. The tomato sauce is too sweet and, although they heap the mozzarella on, they skimp on the meat(and I thought everything is bigger in TX?).

There was one other person dining here when we arrived. We ordered a pizza along with pita and hummus. The pizza crust tasted really weird to me. Like too flaky and buttery. Toppings seemed frozen and heated up. I am a huge fan of pita and hummus but this was pretty gross. Same overly-buttery flavor on the pita and my taste buds were turned off by the hummus. Good news is that there is another pizzeria called Romes down the street that is absolutely excellent.(Tho a tad pricey!)

This was actually my second time here. I wasn’t all that impressed with the slice of pepperoni pizza I had the first time. However, the Italian Sub Sandwich I had the second time was off the chain. I was much larger than I expected, and the flavor was awesome. I love it when a restaurant uses fresh ingredients. Originally, I planned to eat just half of the sandwich. That idea didn’t last long. Before I knew it I had finished the whole thing, and I wanted to go back for another.

Great pizza! Little fluffy crust with just the right amount of ingredients. Another great thing is that they don’t put too much sauce on the pizza as well. Way better that your national chain delivery places!

The pizza is good for San Antonio standards. A good but not great New York style pizza. A great place to stop for lunch. You can get a beverage and two slices for about $ 5.

This place has my favorite NY style pizza in SA. They do slices for lunch, and they are both fresh and cheap. It’s not the type of slice that is dry, which they warm up – it’s fresh pizza. I got 2 slices of pepperoni and a Greek salad for $ 7.50. If you want your own pizza, it’s quick and also inexpensive. The girl out front is on top of her game, and their kitchen has yet to flub an order. I recommend this spot to everyone in SA looking for great pizza. Well done!

As many of you may know by now, I am very reluctant to give any place 5 stars – let alone a place that calls itself ‘NY Style’. I have come to become extremely skeptical of any establishment in or around San Antonio that uses that in its description because most of the time, it couldn’t be any further from the truth. I can firmly say that 46th Street Pizzeria is definitely an authentic NY Style Pizzeria, that serves incredibly delicious authentic flavors – mentally bringing me home for the 20 – 40 minutes it takes me to consume my food. Food: The Food at 46th Street is fresh, delicious, and authentic. You may have read my review of Florios, where I constantly give praise for their amazing food as well. In my opinion, 46th Street Pizza offers similar, but different flavors. Florio’s reminds me more of a NJ area style pie, where 46th Street gives me a more authentic NYC and Upstate NY flavor. This isn’t a demerit for Florios, as they are well-worthy of their 5 star accolade as well; but for those of you naïve San Antonio folk who think they know a thing or two about pizza, the flavors from NJ to NYC to Upstate NY are quite different. I always have difficulty when ordering off the menu. There is literally nothing I have had here that has not meet and surpassed expectation. I am a firm believer that this is one of the very best pizza places in San Antonio. Furthermore, they are the ONLY pizza place that understands how to make a calzone. Long story short, I have had many o’ calzones here, and there is literally no restaurant that understands what a calzone is. I have ordered a ‘calzone’ on multiple occasions, only to find out there is no ricotta in it. Um, then it isn’t a calzone… From their cheese, to their sausage, to their sauce – everything is absolutely delicious. The only thing that leaves me longing for more are their wings. The hot sauce is nice, but they always under-cook the wings. No, they are not raw, but no matter how much I emphasize the ‘please cook them crispy’ part, they always tend to fall short. Also, their bleu cheese leaves something to be desired. Food: 5⁄5(based on everything except wings – Wings are a 3⁄5 at best) Service: The service is your typical, run-of-the-mill service atmosphere where you generally have college kids, or less, running the counter and cooking the food. That is, with the exception of one dude who always looks like the manager. I have never had a bad experience, and as long as you treat them like people, they have always been nice and accommodating. One time I ordered sausage and got pepperoni(which is cool because I like both), and when it came out he looked at me and was like ‘You ordered sausage didn’t you’. I smiled but said it was cool, and later, on my way out the door, he wrote down his schedule and told me to come back any time during those days and he’d make it up to me. Next time I came in, he hooked me up with two free slices and a drink. If you just treat people how you’d like to be treated, you get a lot further in life – yes, I am a very wise Unilocaler. Service: 5⁄5(they have always been more than friendly and accommodating) Atmosphere: So, the first location I had ever been to(a few years ago) was the one on De Zavala. Since then, I have been to the one in Bulverde and Universal City. Damn, those two locations are much, much nicer than the one on De Zavala. Based on that, I have to give the one on De Zavala a 4, but all of the other locations a 5. I equal that out to a 5(strange math, I know); but i figure that De Zavala was probably their first store, and thus the oldest, and thus the least expensively furnished. Furthermore, despite that, it is always clean, inviting,(sometimes a little dim on the lighting), and it mentally brings me back home. Atmosphere: 5⁄5 Price: Here is one of my issues with the restaurant – but this goes for all restaurants of the same cuisine in San Antonio. In NY, I could get a Pizza Wing Special any day of the week for 14.95. That’s right, on large, one topping pizza and a dozen wings for 14.95. This was a pretty standard price across the board. Down here, it costs me nearly twice as much for the same thing. The large pizza basically starts at 18.00 bucks, before the 8.00 for wings, tax, etc. This isn’t their fault, though if it were a true NY Style Pizzeria, these combos/deals would be present, and the price would be better. Despite that, I still love the food, and it is still worth the money. Price: 3⁄5 Concluding Remarks: In a city that has very, very few good pizza options, and where people seemingly think they know what they are talking about when it comes to pizza, 46th Street Pizzeria is one Pizza Haven for a true New Yorker. Between here and Florio’s, I will never go anywhere else for pizza while I live in San Antonio.
