Bring back the Tacos al carbon for happy hour!!! Without them, I have no reason to want to buy a $ 9 margarita.

Unbeknownst to me, Aldaco’s opened another location on I-10. I googled for the Aldaco’s phone number and called to place my to-go order, never realizing I had the wrong location until I arrived at the SO location and my order wasn’t there(my fault, I know). The hostess asked if I placed it at the I-10 location because they didn’t have my fajita order. Long story short, the hostess walked back and forth playing the middle man between me and the manager. One trip back from speaking to the manager she asked that I call the I-10 location and cancel the order then she walked away. I immediately called and the nice woman answering the phones at the I-10 location said it was no trouble. After the hostess walked back to the stand from probably her fifth trip of talking to her manager, I asked that I place the order. The hostess flat out said no. I was so confused and told her I just called and canceled my order just as she told me. She goes oh ok you can order then. What? A second ago I wasn’t allowed to order, I wasn’t even offered the option to pay for both meals which I intended to if caused any issues. I told her never mind and walked out. Never once did I speak directly with a real life manager and the hostess with the mostess power refused service.

Ate here yesterday with some of my neighborhood ladies group.(A party of 7) I ordered the chicken enchiladas, it was OK — had no flavor. Chuy’s chain is much better! Definitely pricey for what you get. I also ordered wine and it was $ 8.00 a glass-that to me was a rip off and the wine was not even that good. Our waiter brought out the checks before we were finished eating. Once the food was served he never came back to the table to check on us to see if we needed anything else. Not a good thing at all. I also used the restroom before I left and they have this huge hook inside the bathroom stall that sticks out quite a bit and I hit my arm on it –leaving me with a bruise and pain. Would not recommend — better off going to chain like Chuy’s –will not go back.

Today we tried Aldacos at stone oak and it pretty much sucked! Let’s start with our no-personality waiter who was so disconnected. I ordered the quesadillas with fajitas and asked if anything else came with them and was told«no». Apparently the waiter doesn’t know jack or didn’t care to say that it came with guacamole and Pico de Gallo. Because of his ineptitude, I ordered a guacamole($ 7) only to be surprised to get some when my quesadillas arrived. Had I been informed I wouldn’t have ordered the extra guacamole. Then my quesadillas were dripping so badly with grease! It was disgusting! I told the waiter that I was not going to eat these dripping grease quesadillas. The waiter just stared without even«I’m sorry». He then takes my plate and shows it to the just as bad«I don’t give a f…» manager. The mgr just glanced at the food apathetically. He should’ve come over to talk to us but obviously he doesn’t care about primo customer service. I ordered the chalupas and they too were a disappointment. Overall the whole dining experience SUCKED!!! I definitely will dissuade others from eating there!

Tried this place for lunch. Arrived before 3 but was not waited on till after 3 missing out on $ 3 Mimosas. I asked waiter if I could still get one for $ 3 since we arrived before 3 and were not waited on til after 3. Never mind that there was all these wait staff persons standing around. Waiter asked but was told no. OK. Gotta ask to find out. Oh, well. I ordered fajita nachos. The serving was adequate with the exception of the amount of guacamole and sliced jalapeños. The waiter was as dull as can be with zero personality. Definitely not a place that I will recommend to others.

We came here during the happy hour and lunch time and such a good choice! I had an avocado margarita! The taste was great! Creamy with a good kick! And for 5.00 the best thing ever! Decided on basic cheese enchiladas and I’m happy I did! Was not greased up like other Mexican restaurants! Chips and salsa they serve before the meal are excellent and authentic! And the view is amazing! Definitely great day date stop or romantic evening date on the patio! Loved it and the service!

Food was ok, service was SOOOO terrible! Our waiter(Ruben) was nonexistent! We had to get up FOUR times to find someone to help us! The manager apologized(several times) and offered a free dessert, but the manager was dealing with another table with the same exact issue! Shouldn’t this be a BIG sign that Ruben needs to go? We won’t be back… level of concern for guests was very minimal! Very disappointing.

I had the WORST dining experience of my life here on Memorial Day 2016. Just to let you know first off, I eat take out from here once a week. The food is good. This is strictly about my dining experience. My girlfriends and I were wanting to sit on the patio and get some drinks. We went at around 6:30 pm and the place was slow. It was slow but not completely dead. My girlfriends had never been there so I chose the restaurant based on the patio. When I walked up to the hostess stand I asked the girl«We would like to sit on the edge of the patio to enjoy the view please.» The hostess replied«I can’t just sit you wherever you want.» I was astonished. Her attitude was disgusting. I’m not sure if she had given me attitude because we were around the same age or if she was in a bad mood, but I am a paying customer and my money is worth the same as someone older. I replied«I understand you have a rotation, but we would like to sit on the edge of the patio. It’s really slow so it shouldn’t be a problem.» To which she gave me attitude stating«again, I can’t just sit you wherever you want.» I asked her to go check outside and get her manager. Her manager sat us exactly where I wanted no problem. Then the waiter came. It was horrible. He ignored us the entire time and when he did come, He barely acknowledged us, got our drink and food orders COMPLETELY wrong. One of my friends is a vegetarian and she told him so and yet he still brought her meat. HORRIBLE. Then, when it came to pay, he didn’t separate our tickets at all. So we had to sit there and separate our own tickets. Another one o my friends gave him a $ 100 bill. Her food was $ 15 and when her brought our payments back there was no change. He was trying to steal her money! We walked to him, demanded her money back to which he replied«oh I’m sorry I didn’t know you wanted change.» I promptly asked for the manager, let him know his waiter was trying to steal. He just smirked at me, and said that he was going to bring the change to us later. YEAHRIGHT. And through speaking with other people, I believe this manager in the owners son. That must be why his attitude sucked. I guess he thought he couldn’t be touched. The owner needs to wake up and whip her son into shape! I will not be back for awhile. Cannot believe the management, waiter, and host team they have running the place.

Food was good as usually is, with a great view of stone oak. The wait staff was horrible though, very slow and never checked to ask if we needed anything or how the food came out.

We’ve been to Aldaco’s several times before and had very good food and service. Our latest visit was not. They seated us under a cold air conditioning vent and the food took an extraordinarily long time(at least 20 – 30 minutes) to come out. One order was wrong, others were lukewarm or cold, and the food didn’t taste that good. The margarita was obviously made from a sweet mixer and wasn’t very good. The chips were stale(or just poor quality). The waiter was obviously spread to thin. This was all somewhat perplexing as the place wasn’t nearly as crowded as it usually is. Very disappointed. It’s almost as though they had new management that was trying to cut corners. Anyway, won’t be going back.

One word: Mmmmmmmmm. The view? Breathtaking. If it’s nice outside, grab a chair and look at the hills. The food? Delicious! Absolutely lovely. Everything is fresh and hot every time, and they’ve never missed a beat. The service? Always pleasant. I’m there so often, most of the staff recognizes my grandmother and I and is always beyond friendly. 10⁄10 would recommend to all.

Our freinds just had a wonderful wedding reception here, aldaco’s served a nice buffet, of many different things, and the waitstaff was wonderful serving margaritas, beer and tea, my table never was in need For anything! This location has a banquet room with a nice view of the serounding hills I could see meetings, birthday party, cocktail party, taking place at this place

I ate here for a large birthday party-more than 30 people. Nevertheless the service was very good and the service as good as could be expected. The room was large and there was a fantastic view. The margaritas were very good. The food was excellent. The tortilla soup was the best I’ve ever had. Every item on my combination plate(El Exclusivo) was very good or excellent. I would absolutely go back.

Let’s just say I can’t seem to move away from their fajitas no matter how hard I try. Something about the tenderness of the steak that gets me every time. And the tortillas? Hot and just the right amount of «burnt» bits(is there a word for that?). I always swear I’m going to get a little experimental and try something new, but the fact is I just can’t say no to Aldaco’s fajitas. I talk about iced tea a lot in my reviews and this one should be no different. I have never had a bad glass of tea here. Strong, never cloudy, and always ice cold. If a restaurant has bad iced tea, I don’t care how good their food is, they’ll be cut from my list without a second thought. And since we’re talking about a Mexican restaurant, we can’t skip a mention of their salsa. Oh man is it good. And it’s fresh. Some days a little thicker, some days a little spicier, you always get good batch. One last thing, if you ever find yourself deathly ill, call in for an order of their Caldito de Pollo. Be sure and ask for a side of salsa to add a little extra kick. If your nose isn’t running clearer and your head feeling a little less foggy, you picked up your food from a different restaurant. I’m telling you, this stuff is magic. So don’t miss out on Aldaco’s if you find yourself in the area. The view is great(there I’d always someone taking a picture outside), the food is incredible, the service is perfect(with a lot of the servers remembering you and your favorites when you return), and on a nice day the patio can’t be beat. I’m not a big margarita drinker, but I hear those are killer too.

Lunch at one of my favorites and it never disappoints! I had the chicken flautas and my hubby had the comalazo. And let’s not forget it’s national margarita day Prickly pear and an Avocado Margarita were had too. Such a family fun friendly place for all… I’ve even seen high school students taking their homecoming dates out to eat here. Yes, my son was one of them

I rarely speak this poorly of a place; however, I cannot let this one slide. I am compelled to post my experience to assist others in not making the same mistake that I did.(My Mom wanted to come here for her birthday so I didn’t question it– big mistake.) We were escorted to a table in what appeared to be a half-empty restaurant. After a while we were able to order drinks and were eventually served in Styrofoam cups with lids — we were told they had no clean glasses– really? I ordered the ceviche as an appetizer– the fish was ok, but we were given a pile of broken chips– to eat ceviche? We were not given any silverware or plates and when we asked for small plates they came out after we finished eating.(I went to the neighboring table to get silverware.) Service: very slow and ineffective– this appears to be a product of poor management. You had three girls at the front doing nothing, an overwhelmed waitress running all over the restaurant including outside, and other unhappy people in the interior– seemed like people eating outside were attended to more. No one was checking in with us regularly– I was not expecting fast service, just regular service. My Mom’s meal didn’t come out with ours– we had to wait for her meal. We arrived at 6:45 p.m. and didn’t leave until 8:55 p.m.– two hours for three people on a Monday evening. The waitress was sweet and trying to work with her circumstances. Food: Ok, but NOT worth the money. The chicken fajitas were a little dry and the borracho beans did not have the rich flavor they should. The chile relleno was drowned in cheese. They claim to be a mexican place which we were excited about; however, this is really an overpriced tex-mex place.(You’d be better off at Chuys or Alamo Café.) Drinks: We ordered two Bonita margaritas — they were inconsistent and the first one was poorly made. *With prices like this the food and service should be much better and consistent. Upon leaving, the three stooges at the front didn’t even greet us goodbye. Don’t waste your time or money on this place! Seriously, don’t. do. it.

We hadn’t been here in years. We decided to go for our birthday celebration. We were set on getting their rib eye steak we had previously. Guess what, it’s no longer on the menu :(. So we settled for the fajita plate. Beef of course. Chicken? never understood that. Show me where a fajita is on a chicken, none thank you very much. Food was very good. Tasty an flavorful beef. Beans were boracho style, wife loved them and she isn’t a fan of that style. The rice was some of the best I have had in SA, plenty of flavor and not dry. Service was spot on… until after we were served. never saw the waiter again, until we asked another to send him over. Took way to long to get our check after we were finished. It happens I know at every place once in a while, but they weren’t busy. I am willing to over look this once. this is a noisy place if you have hearing issues. The prices are a little steep but OK for once in a while. Noise and pricing still isn’t as bad as the last place I reviewed, ‘pappacitos’.

Holy smokes! Aldaco’s is the best thing to happen to stone oak since stone oak park! A delicious Mexican restaurant within walking/biking distance of so many neighborhoods; that’s the dream. The best part is that they are super accommodating! I recently transitioned to a vegan diet and they made me veggies fajitas with corn tortillas, a specialty rice with veggies and chickpeas and a yummy salad! What a win!

This place was great! Lived in the area for 1.5 years and just tried. Why was it great? Let me tell ya: — Salsa: Incredible — Service: Benjamin was the best — Margaritas: Yup — Food: Well above the norm I feel bad for not trying sooner… Unilocal reviews have not been generous but… perhaps unfair. I’m not an official food critic but they had me at ‘welcome.’ Great experience.

I have mixed opinions about this place. Sometimes it’s good and other times it isn’t. The food and service go up and down depending upon the time of day, day of the week and apparently the people you are with. The only really nice thing about this place is the view.

Great lunch menu prices and a gorgeous view eating outside(very high up so you can see far)! The restaurant inside itself is also very appealing. The chips and salsa were wonderful and the food was good; comparable to other Tex-Mex type restaurants. Drinks were good as well… The pumpkin tres-leches cake was superb!

Finally! A 5star Mexican experience! We came in on a Saturday around 1. They had brunch options! I cannot say how much I appreciate brunch, much less Saturday brunch. With $ 3 Mimosas. And Migas. So, when I stopped fangirling over brunch options I looked around. This place is GORGEOUS. I honestly just loved the whole place. The different sized tables, the bar layout, the breathtaking view that should make the prices higher. I also loved my very sweet, attentive server with my free chips and salsa. The Guac here was delicioso! We both ordered off the lunch menu(because in addition to brunch on Saturday, lunch is also every day until 3.) My husband had the fish tacos & I flautas. Yuuuummm. My plate was eaten clean in a way that is slightly embarrassing. Everything was just that good. My husband ate all his food as well. It’s not Southtown puro Mexican, but in Stone Oak, this is considered a win. For the two of us to eat lunch, with Guac and a mimosa was only $ 30 which I gladly paid considering the quality of everything about this place. We will be back. Soon.
