I will never buy from this restaurant again! My husband just found a long hair in his food! Disgusting!!! And I just spent $ 26.00 on 2 dinners to go. The portions are the smallest I have ever seen. They use tiny plastic 2 sided containers that fits very little food. They no longer use the larger styrofoam ones. The food isn’t that good either and not worth the cost. I called to tell the manager my complaint and to say I will never return!!!

April’s is as close to my LA favorite Chinese restaurants as it gets. I was used to certain styles of cooking and I’m glad I discovered it so close to home and work. The food is piping hot and ready in minutes. They have suffered from a funky, dirty pipe smell that goes away when your soup arrives but it’s a bit hard to walk in and want to stay. Today, they had their door open. It was a hot first day of winter and I think that helped because I couldn’t smell it at all. Or perhaps they finally fixed the problem! Regardless, it’s comfort food for me and I love that they have the simple menu that comes with soup, rice, and egg roll. I hate having to order a-la-carte. My kid loves it here because she gets her wonton soup, lemon chicken and rangoons. Today, she impressed the waitress with her chop stick skills. Apparently I have a sophisticated child. Extra tip, thank you, you’re welcome! And did I mention, they deliver! I had a menu flapping in the wind on my fence. Werd!

The food is great, but if you’re going to have a drive-through you need to learn how to use it properly and effectively. Customer should not sit in line being ignored for more than 10 minutes. There’s no excuse for this.

Ok so I get a flyer on my door in Keystone Park from this place and am intrigued that this place might deliver to my house. So I drove over to give it a try. First of all, walking in, the place stinks like pine sol and dirty mop. I liked that the vegetables in my Mongolian beef are julienne style. Turned off by a piece of nerve in my beef and stopped eating it ¾ the way through. Food is acceptable. C+

We got the sesame chicken and beef Lo Mein and it is seriously the best Chinese food we’ve ever had. We will ABSOLUTELY be back.

I love the lemon chicken and egg rolls here! Not gonna lie, it smells like over cooked cabbage all the time. The sign on the door says their closed and looks like they’re remodeling. I’ll definitely have to try when it reopens.

First time there, so I kept it safe, if you understand that this place is the equivalent to a mom and pop version of a Chinese food court restaurant you’ll find it justified. I ordered pork fried rice, egg drop soup, and egg rolls to go. I felt like if they can do those well it merits a comeback, they did them really well. LESSISMOREAPPROACH. Portion size is very generous.

April Fools Chinese Food Sometimes you take a chance on a new dining experience, and sometimes your bowels hate you for it. This place is cheap as dirt… that’s because it is dirt. Stay away from the lemon chicken. Also, the fried rice looked like Spanish rice, and tasted like something that isn’t fried rice. Consider yourself warned. Play it safe, China Garden is only a few blocks away, and provides a consistent variety of mediocre Chinese food for an inexpensive rate that won’t turn your stomach upside down… and they deliver. Never again April… never again.

Went there for a lunch and it was disgusting. Had the sweet and sour chicken. Chicken was extremely dry the egg roll was your typical soggy greasy thing. The food is cheap so I guess you get what you pay for. The cashier with the ring in her nose was rude. But I guess for 5 bucks… you can’t expect greatness.

April’s may not be the best Chinese restaurant nor is it one of my top favorite Chinese restaurants in San Antonio but as far as price and location are concerned, you can’t beat it. The TV is tuned into the Chinese cable network. I ordered the General Tso chicken with a side of fried rice and 2 eggrolls. The eggrolls were good, fried rice was fair and the chicken was pretty good. The waitress was also friendly and didn’t try to rush me out of the restaurant. My only gripe is the odd schedule. If you plan to dine here be sure it’s on a weekday because April’s is closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Tasty food, fair prices, nice people. I like the Asian shows they always have on the TV too.

Listen, this place is cheap. On the reals. You may feel like the nice but adamant lady who waitresses and owns/runs the place is rude but she just wants to take your order down so you can get your food fast enough without much complaints. Lunch, I hear, is super cheap — about less than $ 6 and you get an optional soup. I went for dinner with my family and boy was it cheap. I had some veggie noodle something and it was tasty! Portions AREHUGE so you better come hungry. Also, I love how you don’t have to ask for the sirachaca sauce. It’s already laid out for you on your table.

Each day, I try my intestinal fortitude. Today, it failed. I went to April’s Chinese restaurant largely based on its name, but also on the recommendation of a friend; a quick perusal of Unilocal reviews and I headed out the door with an empty stomach and a hope for satisfaction. Yes, the food was cheap. Yes, the place is a hole in the wall. Now, I’ve eaten at many a place that satisfies both of those criteria and come out a winner, but I can tell you that April’s is run-of-the-mill and not worth the two bathroom visits I made within the hour after returning to work. I had the Kung Pao Chicken lunch meal. The sauce was flavorful and the portions were abundant, but the blandness of the rice couldn’t be compensated for without pouring it into a bowl of soy sauce and eating it like cereal. The rangoon was overwhelmingly stuffed with cream cheese and was a bit under-cooked. And it was surprising how tasteless the wonton dumpling was for being soaked in such a tasty broth(the only part of this traditional soup that April seemed to get right). I wouldn’t tell you not to go there. The place seemed crowded enough for a post-rush 1:00 p.m. lunch, so people obviously get down to it. But if you’re not into dodgy, hit-or-miss lunch traps, my advice is to spare your colon and go for the miss.

Service was very slow and the food was dry and tasteless. Very disappointing, because previous visits were more pleasant. Will not bother again.

This place is a guilty obsession of ours. The food is amazing, especially the egg rolls and the General’s chicken. Its not really a dine-in kind of place(not for me anyways), but it’s oh so good at home, on the couch, in your pjs.

Lunch specials are only 5.99 for a cup of soup, entrée, and choice of either an egg roll or crab wontons. Get a drink and your looking at $ 7.77 ticket. Dinner is only $ 1 more. The food is great, and best of all cheap. They are kind of tiny so a good time to go is after 12:45pm, it’s usually dead. I go once a week!

You get really good servings. At lunch though, they are packed. That’s a good sign huh? Anyways, it is good and the lunch specials are fabulous.

SATX does not boast an Asian food scene, at all. My recent move to this part of the world has greatly disappointed the non-Tex-Mex/non-Mex side of my belly. The lunchtime food at April’s is fine — not good, not disappointing. I ordered the chicken w/black bean sauce(nice and spicy), hot and sour soup(could use less corn starch as a thickening agent), and steamed rice(a tad sticky). Nothing to call home about, but at least one step up from Panda Express.

Pretty good, nothing too fancy, kind of a hole in the wall place right off Hwy35 by the Church’s Chicken
