If you’re looking for unique outdoor décor or Asian themed furniture then look no further. Upon arrival you enter through a neat outdoor/patio area. The outdoor area has something for everyone from simple patio furniture to exotic fountains. Inside, we were greater by the owner, she was helpful and informative. The furniture and décor inside is all Asian themed; while not my style it this place has everything you’d need if this was your style. I left empty handed but the next time I need outdoor items, this will be my first stop.

I am obsessed with this store! Such unique and beautiful finds here. Bought some«happy pigs» and«moon rock» planters. Very pleased with my purchases. I can’t wait to be back for more. Additionally, the cherry on top of it all was the service. The owner is exceptionally kind and helpful. I sometimes feel uncomfortable at locally owned boutiques and such when owners or employees push things on you, but this was not the case at all. I felt very much at home here. Can’t wait for all my future purchases. So glad I stopped in on a whim today!

This little place has the coolest specialty Asian furniture! Every few steps there is something new, interesting, and hand made to look at. It’s definitely not your bargain furniture & outdoor store for a quick fix so have your purse ready! The prices are fair though because they are made with such quality.

This is such a fun store, with a fresh Asian look and friendly help. The products are mostly made from bamboo, and the gallery includes both indoor and outdoor furniture, as well as garden sculptures, lamps, scarves, fire pits, and even purses. It struck me right away that the staff member was helpful without being pushy. And this spot is a bit of an oasis down on Hildebrand. I highly recommend stopping by for your Asian lantern, lawn chair, and Buddha statue needs.

What a cool store! From handcrafted bamboo furniture to a variety of whimsical knick-knacks, this place has a lot to offer. Unique, handmade products are imported directly from the families who make them in countries like Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Pictures and stories from the families are posted around the store. Plus, this is just a beautiful space! The lush, green outdoor entryway features their patio, garden and poolside items beside a bubbling fountain. Stepping inside, you’re greeted with a friendly, open and airy atmosphere, and smiles from the friendly owner and his wife. There’s also an upstairs loft area that features their beautiful bedroom sets. I’m sold on this place, for sure!

I’m such a fan of this store because it’s truly unique… seriously, I haven’t found another place like in the whole state of Texas. The owners are super-nice and helpful(one is from Thailand and she’s great at sharing info about how some of the things they sell are used in Thailand). Another reason Big Grass Bamboo is fantastic is that everything they sell is made of renewable materials(uh, bamboo is their name!) and they work directly with families in Thailand and Mexico who handcraft all their furniture and get paid fair wages for the work. Talk about being both environmentally responsible and socially responsible! But the real reason anyone goes shopping int he first place it to check out(and buy) great stuff! There is no shortage of amazing home décor items at Big Grass Bamboo… from furniture to amazing artifacts and lighting. I’d like to spend my entire paycheck there because they have so much great stuff! I think some of the items are incredibly priced — real historical Asian artifacts that are just the right elegant touch in your house… $ 75. I bouht a whole patio set that can be left out in the rain and take a beating from the sun for only $ 400! After being outside all summer, it looks fantastic. I think my favorite thing I’ve seen there is a beautiful platform bed made of this special bamboo that only grows in a certain part of Thailand and it’s hand harvested by Buddhist monks! Oh, the bed is gorgeous — very contemporary but with a unique style… that’s the next item on my shopping list. All in all, I can’t think of a better place to buy furniture and home decorating items. Because it’s all handmade, the quality and strength is incredible — none of this Ikea/Rooms to Go crap — and I love that everytime someone comes over to my house they always say«WOW! Where did you get that lamp?» Almost everything they sell is totally unique and you can’t find it anywhere in Texas(and hardly on the web either). Two thumbs up for Big Grass Bamboo! Oh, one last thought — even though I love this place, I must admit that parking can be kinda tough since Hildebrand is such a busy street. Try parking on the side of the store(forget what the name of the street is) where they have parking spaces and more street parking. Don’t take a chance on parking on Hildebrand because traffic moves so fast you might risk an accident when pulling out.

Absolutely beautiful furniture here. I’ve been on the lookout for an Asian inspired patio set and I think I found exactly what I might be looking for here. The furniture at Big Grass is imported from Thailand and surprisingly, it’s all very reasonably priced. The owners are very friendly and are always willing to answer any questions for you. In some displays you’ll find photo albums of the owner’s wife next to displays in furniture stores in Thailand. You’ll also see what complete sets look like(one of the items they sell is carved stone but in the garden area, you only see parts of it — where in the photo album, you’ll see it in its entirety). Definitely check it out — even if you’re just going to browse. You might find something you like!
