Bill Millers makes fresh tacos made with real egg and crispy bacon. There potato and egg taco is delicious and may be one of the best in town. The problem I have is that there prices continue to go up while their portions continue to go down. At nearly $ 2.00 a piece I expect a plump taco filled generously. On more than one occasion, my bacon and egg had one strip of bacon and a small spoonful of egg. While the service is snappy through the drive thru, I’d MUCH prefer to wait a little longer and have a more appropriately portioned taco. I’m starting to think this is their«NORMAL» portion. Having worked at Bill Millers many years ago, I remembered how they could be militant about over serving to a fault.

I’m not really a Texas BBQ expert, I enjoy it every once in a while when the mood hits. What I DO love are breakfast tacos, and the potato and egg tacos here are delicious!!! Potato cooked through, good flavor, salt and peppered scrambled eggs, and the sweet tea was great when I came in today. What made me really want to write this review is the customer service I received. The young lady at the cashier Carolyn or Caitlyn(I am not sure which one it was) was super friendly, very sweet. I watched her walk around the counter to get the customer ahead of me some salsa, even though it was on the self serve area, she served him three little cups of it and brought it out to him. She made pleasant conversation when it was my turn at the register and made sure I had everything I needed for my meal, rang me up and sent me on my way for napkins and a straw. Thanks!

They have done something to their«tea», it does not taste the same, less quality, very watered down. The ¼ lb of brisket I got was horrible, full of dry hard fat, smelled bad. I will not go back again.

Another San Antonio staple. Let’s face it. It’s not great food. Its the in n out of the San Antonio bar b que joint world. Ugh it’s better than that. You miss it when you’re away and for good reason. You grew up eating poor boys and breakfast tacos. Stopping through the drive thru for a tea and small fry. Stopping right before closing and being offered crazy good specials. This is not the place to bring a visitor or maybe it is. Just make sure they get it.(Fast food goodness not culinary cuisine). Yum.

It’s a San Antonio staple for a reason: the service is always great, the ‘cue is always fresh, and their breakfast tacos are perfection wrapped in a handmade flour tortilla. Not even kidding, their AM drive-thru line at most locations wraps around the parking lot. Favorite breakfast picks are their brisket, egg and potato, or bean and cheese tacos(in that order), while lunch for me is always either their brisket poboy(marbled please, extra pickles and onions) or one of the salads(Italian dressing only). Lots of folks favor their fried chicken, but I find the batter too thick. Props to this spot for sharing a corner lot with Laguna Madre, perfect for overflow parking in the morning(as they don’t open til lunch). Bill Miller is classic Texas comfort food– now if only they’d add a hot link and some grits to the menu.

I don’t know which one of my friends had suggested we go to bill millers that morning, but I should have ended that friendship right then and there. I don’t live in San Antonio, I was just visiting for the weekend and to end my weekend there was definitely disappointing. It’s a cafeteria style restaurant, which is already kinda iffy for me. Restaurant smells awful, seating area was unclean, and I felt dirtier coming out than when I had went in. I gave this place 2 stars only bc the egg potato breakfast taco(nothing authentic/special about it) was good. I didn’t get food poisoning(only because I have a stomach of steel), but my friends didn’t feel too well afterwards. Definitely not a place you would go out of your way for, only a place you go to because it’s close and convenient. Im sure it’s good restaurant because it’s still open, but none of there choices appealed to me either.

Worst bbq and food in general I gave ever had in Texas. Was upcharged to add bbq pork ribs to brisket when they offered 2 meat plate but that combo not included. Would not exchange cole slaw for green salad. asked 3 times if I wanted sweet tea when asked for mt dew. Then told dont accept AMEX. Then discovered no knives or forks available but some would be brought to me. To top it off there was no extra bbq sauce available out… in a bbq restaurant. had to have that brought to me as well. Beans were blah. Cole slaw was crud. Bread was bearable. Hash browns were hot and tasty but desperately needed salt. Brisket as bad(thin and fatty) AND up-charge ribs were not edible without being drenched in sauce. Oh yes, the sauce was tomato-ee and barely resembled bbq sauce. Did I mention worst Texas dinner ever? Yikes.
