Not reliable. I cannot judge this place on their workmanship because i never got the chance to see it. Took my boot in and asked specifically, «can you fix this?». If they cannot, then i need to know so that i can try someone who can. «Oh yes, we can fix that,» was the reply, «will have it done by friday.» So I paid $ 30 and returned friday to pick up. Not done — they said come back monday. Monday, nobody answers the phone, so i drive in, still not done. They tell me to come back friday. Friday, again nobody answers the phone, drive in — still not done, «[shrugging] we had to run to Michaels to get the part, just come back tomorrow.» Really? just come back tomorrow? Like its no big deal to drive up here. Next day, Saturday, no kidding — closed? Why would you …, nevermind. Returned again Monday — «sorry, we’ll have it done wednesday.» ENOUGH! Bob-in CALL your customers to let them know of delays or changes, or answer your phones so we don’t have to take the time to drive in for nothing. Or better yet, be honest if you cannot repair an item. I finally asked for my boot and my money back. Boot hadn’t been touched and i’m glad. If they are this shotty with their service, can only imagine what they would have done to my boot. Complete waste of time.

It’s funny how people think«diamonds are a girl’s best friend» but in reality, shoes are! Rather, in the case of this review, show repair. lol More specifically, I am speaking for the widely un-noticed, under appreciated Cobbler. Oh how I have had many O love affair with shoes and what’s worse is when they have surpassed their life. :(At Bob-In Shoe Repair I’ve found that for many of my lovely shoes they have been granted add years of existence. The owner and main Cobbler of Bob-In Shoe Repair is Fernando G. In my experience he always welcomes you into the shop with a smile. The work he does is quality and more importantly reasonable. The most I have EVER paid for a shoe repair was maybe $ 15. The general range tends to be $ 7-$ 10. I have been to other places but they have always been SO expensive. To the point that I feel like tossing the shoes and simply buying a new pair. What’s great about Bob-In is that it really is a mom and pop shop. I have learned from the owner that the Bob-In Show Repair have been in existence for about 115 years!!! The current owner, Fernando, took it over from his grandfather who bought the business from the original family owners back in the 1950’s(I believe). I dunno about you but I think it’s cool when establishments have a history and story to them. The current location is on Hildebrand near Blanco Road tucked in between Rolando’s Super Tacos and a Chevron gas station. Don’t drive too fast or you just might miss the entrance. Bob-In recently relocated to this place from it’s original location just yards away on the opposite side of Blanco Rd. One last thing I’d like to mention is you don’t have to worry if your shoes are too old, or too«cheap» to take in. Bob-In fixes them all and doesn’t make you feel odd about it. Their slogan on their cards read«If you like it, fix it» and that’s exactly what they do. lol I’ve taken some faves that I have purchased from Payless and to the opposite extreme of high-ed Prada’s. Every pair of shoes and customer is treated well, and with respect. The only thing I can say that’s slightly negative is there have been some occasions when Bob-In’s have been closed and there is no sign or notice. Also, there is no answering machine or service. If you are going, I would recommend calling in advance to make sure someone is there. Like I said, this doesn’t happen all of the time, but it does happen. All and all, if you love your shoes like children — or even if you don’t, you get great value and quality at Bob-In Shoe Repair.
