I have been a fan of Bush’s Chicken for many years and first discovered it in Waco and West Texas. We were so excited when they starting opening locations in San Antonio. Now we are extermely disappointed with the way the location on Nacogdoches is managed and the quality of food. We went this evening and ordered a 15 piece meal w/2 sides and 8 rolls. Upon taking my order out when I got home the rolls were missing and the box of chicken contained all stale wings and legs. I called the manager John and explained to him the rolls were left out and we receved all wings and legs. He was very rude made me repeat myself 4 times and stated he was trying to figure out what my complaint. After repeating myself several times he went silent and held the phone numerous times. I asked him for a solution and ONCE more he asked me to repeat myself. Then I got very frustrated and he promptly told me to be quiet and let him talk and then tells me he could just end the conversation… as he did and hung up on me. I plan to complain to the area manager in the morning. Save yourself the time and go else where this location is horrible.

Chicken was done nicely, but there was absolutely no flavor to the breading. Would be great if you could order spicy or regular chicken! Green beans had a nice bacon-y flavor, and the cream gravy wasn’t too bad, although a bit too thick for my taste. Potatoes were instant, but I expected that. Jalapeño Poppers were made with canned, pickled jalapeños and were terrible. Loved the fried apple pies, though! As a whole, the meal wasn’t bad, but it certainly wasn’t anything to write home about. Pretty average fast food chicken fare.

Just had Bush’s Chicken for the first time. I had chicken tenders and coleslaw. Everything tasted really good. Very flavorful. What really made my experience though was the kind shift manager and owner. They were so sweet and helpful. Outstanding customer service! I mentioned I never ate there before and they gave me samples without me asking. It was unexpected and I’d gladly eat there again.

Service is surprisingly always fast when I have gone. Even when there is several cars waiting the workers were taking everyone’s orders and seemed to return with the food almost immediately. Everyone I’ve dealt with when I’ve gone have been friendly and always make sure to ask if there is anything else you need. Oh & they don’t make faces or complain if they need to run back in to get something you asked for, Great service and great tasting food!

Staff very friendly, very clean, and some good chicken! You can tell the owner takes pride in his restaurant. This is where we go for family fried chicken nights.(They also have drink happy hour I think 2 – 4. Tender rolls are really good too!)

Very impress. First time at a bushes chicken and you can tell they take the time out to clean all their condiment bottles. With so many people eating with their hands that makes me feel a lot better not picking up dirty bottles. My boyfriend asked for a piece of gizzard to try for the next time and the manager/supervisor gave him one without hesitations. Most of all they were quick and didn’t act like they totally hate their job. Which we all know working at a fast food restaurant isn’t anybody’s dream job but I’ve been there and you make the best of it. :) Good job !

The manager, Guillermo, is very nice. I brought my elderly friend in with me one day, and he was so kind to her. She was very tickled when he brought a round of Oreo cookies to the table! We pick up the Tuesday Tenders special often. Consistently delicious chicken tenders. Very crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. If the strips are on the small side, they will put extra in the box. Same is true for the gizzards. Daily happy hour soda/sweet tea.

The chicken is ok as well as the sides. The best thing about Bush’s Chicken is the SWEETTEA! Hands down the best tea around. You have to try it!

Food is great. Staff is great. My favorite is the chicken tenders and a side of okra(which in my opinion taste sooo much better than any other okra). Their sweet tea is perfect. I love their bread rolls because they melt in your mouth. I also love that their chicken tenders go well with the Texas Pete Hot sauce. yum!

I don’t have fried chicken often, but when I do, it’s Bush’s…their chicken is always crispy and juicy, and their biscuits are amazing. The mashed potatoes are served with country gravy– they’re creamy and really tasty! Free refills on drinks and good values on the family meals… what else can you ask for? Two huge thumbs up for Bush’s!

I love fried chicken so my perception may be skewed just a tad. I like that there is more variety now with another fried chicken place. I’ve gotten my orders here to go many times and never cared to dine in because most of the time it’s for a group of people. Great flavor, love the fries and mashed potatoes and rolls too. Mac & cheese could be a bit cheesier. If you like sweet tea but don’t like diabetes by-the– gallon, get your tea half and half(half sweet half unsweet trust me) Service is fast and good most of the time.

I’m not really a into chicken as much since as kid we used to eat it religiously but this place by far is great anywhere from the amazingly sweet tea to the creamy macrons(Macaroni) that my daughter loves, to their deliciously amazing rolls that me and my son fight over for. Their drive thru staff is also great with their quick service. We always get the 12 strip meal. Try this place if you haven’t yet, you’ll keep coming back.

It’s a cool spot. Just not fond of paying $ 7 for a 2 piece. Chicken is an abundant and cheap food. I have had better chicken at churches for half the price. However they come out to the car to take your order. and Mike at this location was a hoot. Funny guy but don’t go over board.

Best fried chicken, best sweet tea, and best fried okra. The staff at this location has always been really nice. My food as always been hot, and my side items have always been fresh. Don’t forget to put that Serendipity salt on all the things. So delicious!

Crazy question. I don’t really go anywhere else. Prices are good, product is fresh. Today’s mac n cheese needed a little more kick. But over all, I love this product.

Ok, I’m from the dirty south and grew up eating fried chicken. I’ve had it so many different ways its not even funny. I don’t indulge into this too often anymore but every now and then I get a craving. I’ve been told to try this place since I moved to Texas two and a half years ago. We got a 12 piece box for the wife and I(don’t judge me), rolls, Mac n cheese, mashed potatoes, slaw and corn. The sides were average but damn, that chicken was good! Moist, not greasy! And great flavor! This will be my spot from now on for fried chicken!

I went to Bush’s Chicken yesterday with the kids. The food was very good. We all ordered the Chicken Tenders and Fries. Chicken tasted great and fries were good too. The place was very clean as well as the restrooms. Also, all of the staff were very kind and helpful. We’ll be going back for sure.

Folks have told me that this is the best fried chicken ever! Not for me! I think Bill Miller’s is better. I ordered 2 piece meal with okra and tea. The cost was around $ 6.50. The chicken was very crispy, but too salty for my taste. The okra tasted like it was fried in old oil. I will say that their rolls are the best I have ever had at a fast food place. They are slightly sweet and buttery. They taste homemade. They should offer strawberry jam to go with them. Thanks, but I will stick to Bill Miller’s fried chicken which tastes better and is cheaper…
