Food was okay, but not worth the price. The bonus is in the view and the experience in seeing San Antonio from the «Tower of America», and getting free admission to the observation deck with your receipt. However for the price it’s probably best to save your money and just pay to go to the observation deck without eating dinner. One meal cost the same as ½ my grocery bill for the week for a family of 5 (and we eat very healthy), and it was just me and my spouse.

Let’s see, I’ll get the obvious out of the way first. Food was great, service was good, and our waiter was knowledgable of the area and local attractions. As we’re from out of town, that’s important.
What you need to know– it’s a nice place, a little pricey but not ridiculous. But I mean, you’re not going to go there every day.
Parking was $ 11, for the whole day. I had made a reservation. Not sure if it was required, but they did ask if we had one. We went right up, and were seated immediately (Lunchtime).
The place rotates. Well, not the whole place, but all the seating. It’s sort of a rotating disc. The center and the windows are stationary, and the seating is on this disc. And they aren’t all window seats, but all still allow for the great view. There are of course the window seats, your table is right next to the glass. Which is moving. The aisle, and more seating, then a level of seating a few steps up. It’s a slow rotation, but with a window seat, it’s a little tough to not let the rotation get to you. You pretty much have to look off into the distance the whole time. So you have to look at your food/​drink obviously, and make special effort to NOT look outside when you do! I would expect the non-​window seats wouldn’t be a problem.
I’m just being descriptive being as I felt this info was lacking, for those who, like me, are afflicted with what I call ‘engineering brain’. I want to know what I’m walking into, and how it works.
But yes, I recommend it, I’ll go back again. Oh– and they have wifi too!

If you come to San Antonio you must eat here. God was great, the view was awesome. Did I say the view was more then awesome. Our waiter Ferman took care us. Thank you.

Happy Hour! Came here on a Wednesday evening and thoroughly enjoyed it with my 4 friends. Angel was a great waitress. Our table had the several orders of the steak sliders, calamari, truffle fries, shrimp tacos, and fish tacos. We had a plethora of drinks but the mango mojito was the group favorite.
The food was exceptionally good. The fish taco was the only one that tasted slightly bland. Everything else was absolutely flavorful. The staff were accommodating for our 5 woman group.
Happy Hour prices are still slightly more expensive than typical happy hour prices. I’d still say it’s worth it.
I was shocked to see how dirty the chairs were. With those prices, they will have to invest more in the furniture because aesthetics matter.
I went twice within the last week. The first time the air was out and it was excruciatingly hot. Angel was our waitress then as well and she was great! We made it through the heat and the sweat and the food was delicious. A few of the drinks were too sweet but the mango mojito is a MUST!

Although this has nothing to do with the Chart House it will cost $ 12 to park.
We arrived at the Chart House at 730 PM for a 730 reservation. It took 30 minutes to get to the restaurant from the lobby, so allow extra time. The elevator holds 8 people so if you are 64 back then make allowances (the elevator also serves the observation deck). Once there the reservation clerk was rude beyond belief. So rude that a member of our party asked for the manager to complain, the manager never showed so minus 1 star. Plan on $ 70 per head with no alcohol, for wine etc allow accordingly. The food was acceptable but not great so 2 stars. Our server, Christian, was outstanding, 2 of the 5 stars for Christian.
The views are wonderful at twilight so that is the time to enjoy the ambiance.

Second time around at the Chart House and I’ll have to say that there were a lot of inconsistencies.
My first time here was for my boyfriend’s basic graduation. Amazing service and absolutely great food! Seated in a private booth right next to the windows and great service made me want to return.
Fast forward to tonight. I took my parents here because of how great the service was the first time.
Seating was very fast considering we didn’t have a reservation so props to them on that but we were seated by the walk ways which is where we experienced most of our troubles.
A member of the staff dropped a pile of plates right next to my table and I was hit in the leg by a plate (luckily not one of the shattered ones) and screamed out of surprised. Luckily not hurt and I brushed it off since it wasn’t a huge deal. The manager (?) did come by and apologize and asked if we wanted anything which was a nice gesture but after getting my leg and foot a wet from whatever juices came from those plates, I kind of expected a little more from the Chart House than the requested wet towel to wipe my leg off.
The amount of foot traffic on the upper level of the seating area was troublesome as the heavier footed people would make our table shake. Our waiter was very kind though. Props to him.
I’m only giving the three stars as my first time here was over the top. Docking two for how inconsistent the service as compared to the first time.
I guess it can be a hit or miss.

We stopped in late night for dessert martinis and the lava cake. Omg, such an awesome dessert, and we’ll worth the 30 min cook time. The views from the rotating restaurant are incredible. Definitely put this on your to-​do list while visiting.

Chart House is the restaurant in Tower of the Americas, but in and of itself is a national restaurant chain.

I had dinner one evening here. Service was average. Everything that was supposed to be done was done, but it was done without fanfare, without anything memorable taking place, and with limited eye contact from the server.
The food was good. Everything was cooked perfectly the first time and flavors were good. I got the entrée special of the evening which was parmesan encrusted Halibut with some angle hair pasta and shrimp on top. The parmesan cheese was definitely a strong flavor in the dish, but everything else kind of fell flat.
For an appetizer we shared the Wicked Tuna. The portion of this app was actually really large (see picture). There was tuna prepared three different ways: tartare, seared with avocado, and ahi tacos. The tacos were my favorite; the tartare seemed to be unseasoned entirely.
The view makes for an enjoyable evening. The restaurant rotates and you get a 360 view during dinner. I think this makes up for just A-​OK food, at least a little bit. If you are looking to be impressed from a culinary perspective, look elsewhere. But for a memorable dinner for your vacation, this is a good option.
While this place does have group tables that can seat about 8 at a rectangle, 4 of the guests will have their back to the view which seems a bit pointless so keep that in mind if you have a large group.

Very good location restaurant located inside the tower of America I made a reservation for party of 4 people. We arrived around 615 it’s not too busy that time so we get our seat very soon. We ordered coconut shrimp, fried calamari, asparagus as our starter. Lobster bisque soup is really good. We get maHi. Salmon with crab on top and NY steak. I love those salmon and vegetable in the dish. We also ordered desert which I forgot name unfortunately it’s looks like marshmallows on the top. It looks really good and taste delicious. I enjoyed the food and especially really good view there. Server are really friendly.

Would have given 5 stars but the air conditioning seemed to be on the fritz as it was pretty warm. Good drinks, good food and staff and even better view. The restaurant sits up several hundred feet and spins slowly around so your view is always changing. Was fine when we were on the side without sun but soon as we got to the sun side we baked. If you eat at the restaurant you get to go up the tower for free FYI.

I love this place!!! The service is excellent and my waiter was so knowledgeable of the dishes and recommend me an amazing dish.
The only thing I didn’t like was that the reservation was really hard to get off the phone number shown here and there was a fly going around.
But, I definitely recommend this place 100%.

Whole family was there celebrating my Mom’s birthday, little longer wait for a 7:15 reservation that we would have liked, but many of us were 5 – 15 minutes early. Our waiter and waitress were excellent and handled most of our requests very efficiently. We were also greeted and checked on my 2 different managers.
Food was excellent. My oldest son’s steak was undercooked to his liking, and they remedied it very quickly and a manager brought it back out to him.
Overall, great experience and great atmosphere at the top of the Tower of the Americas.

A revolving seafood restaurant 750 feet above San Antonio walking distance from the riverwalk and convention center. Check in on the first floor and take a separate elevator to the restaurant. It will also stop at the observation deck (second stop). Getting to the observation deck after dinner can be ridiculous. The wait staff will take you to a service elevator in the back kitchen area – the wait is long. There is also a stairway close by. After waiting a several different elevators the growing group was allowed to walk up. Great way to work off dinner… The dinner service was okay and could improve on timing. We were not done with our soup before the main entrees arrived. The chowder was good. Overall menu pricing is high — you’re paying for the view which is nothing really special. It’s a one and done place.

The food was delicious, the view is what you are really paying for. Giving 3 stars because the presentation on the food could have been better.
We got the New York strip and glazed scallops with shrimp. Both very happy with the food but best thing by far was the lobster bisque we ordered as an appetizer!

For happy hour, you must sit on the upper deck around the bar which gets very crowded unless you get there early. I came with a large party and the waitress was nice enough to try and accommodate us. She served us while siting in the waiting area by the elevator and eventually moved tables together for us to sit.
I love their happy hour, I had truffle fries with multiple pomegranate mojitos (because it was that good). I tried the prime sliders as well and shared the ahi tuna nachos with my friend. Both were delicious. The tempera shrimp serving is kinda small, my friend ordered it and had to order more food after that.
The prices are very reasonable considering this is inside a major tourist attraction. Which btw the view is still great from sitting in the upper deck.

Visited the Chart House Restaurant on Friday and the Shrimp Scampi and grilled Asparagus were superb. The toss salad wasn’t too great due to the tomatoes and lettuce being chopped so small, I really had to look and pick into the shredded salad to find them. The service was excellent. We ordered coke cola and the sodas came from the bar tap, which the sodas were watered down and tasted old. There was not much fizz in the coca cola. The night view of the city was fantastic! I would definitely dine at the Chart House again!

I liked Chart House for the breathtaking views. We made a reservation for 5:30, just in time to see the sunset near the top of Tower of Americas.
The downside, however, was the congestion during rush hour and difficulty finding parking other than the one in front of the Tower of Americas, where they charge $ 11 for parking. Additionally, Chart House has the ability to cancel the reservation after 15 minutes of no-​show, so I would recommend leaving a bit earlier to take into account traffic and parking.
Although the line for the restaurant was pretty long, I was amazed when I got up to the top. The restaurant rotated, so I got a bit dizzy in the beginning, because I made the mistake of focusing on the walls rather than the windows. Despite the difficulty getting to the restaurant, I felt like the dinner experience made up for it.
My friend and I went during the happy hour. Although the actual restaurant does not feature a happy hour, the bar area that is connected to the area does. The happy hour menu can be found here:

While my friend and I sat at the restaurant area, the waiter was really nice and let us bring down some drinks from the bar during happy hour. We got an appetizer, some drinks, and a dessert. The shrimp and crab fondu and the hot chocolate lava cake were both large portions, just as the waiter informed us. The hot chocolate lava cake was really amazing — the ice cream on top of the cake was the perfect balance to the cake.
The dinner and the restaurant was worth the experience because of the beautiful views. If you prefer to go to the observation deck, I would recommend holding onto your receipt because they will take you to the top on the elevators for free, which Tower of Americas usually charges for. I’d highly recommend this place especially for those who are new to San Antonio or visiting.

Spinning at the top of the Tower of the Americas looking down on San Antonio makes Chart House a top choice for dinner. Excellent entrees, cold drinks, and a super server made me a fan.
Sure, Chart House is a chain and you’re getting Seafood in the heart of cow country, but the San Antonio Chart House hypes itself as the only restaurant in town getting fresh fish daily. So, if you’re gonna do seafood in San Antonio and see the view, Chart House at the top of the Tower of the Americas is the place, you’ll see.

For a date or just to impress, Chart House Restaurant slowly spinning at the top of the Tower of the Americas is a safe choice thanks to 360-​degree views and reliable food.

Great food
Cimche Calamari was amazing slight spicy but very tasting
Shrimp feast off the chain giving a good selection of shrimp (coconut, grilled and butter sauté)
I chose the butter crusted Mahi wow blew my mind
Service is excellent David did a great job and was on top of his game
I will be returning soon to try there selection of tasty steaks

I made a reservation to celebrate my BF’s birthday. I’m glad he enjoyed the meal but for the service and food it wasn’t worth it to me.
I expected that when I made my 745 reservation I would be seated almost immediately. Unfortunately the line for the elevator was about a 30 minute wait! When we actually got up to the restaurant we had to wait another 10 minutes for a table. It was probably about 830 until we were finally seated. We didn’t get a window table which was fine. I did put on my reservation note through Open Table that we were celebrating a birthday and neither the waiter nor hostess acknowledged it or even asked.
The view is absolutely beautiful and since we weren’t right next to the window we got a better overall view of the city. BF timed a full rotation starting from the front of the restaurant and back and it was about 56 minutes (in case you’re wondering).
Our waiter Casey was okay. He did the bare minimum as far as service goes.
BF ordered the blackened chilean sea bass and I ordered the tour de shrimp. We shared the lobster mac and cheese on the side as well. His fish was excellent and cooked well. The tour consists of coconut fried shrimp, crab stuffed shrimp, and grilled shrimp. The crab in the crab stuffed shrimp smelled and tasted fishy to me. That was my least favorite part of the dish. The lobster mac and cheese was just okay. I think the crab stuffed shrimp got to me because I had a pretty bad stomachache that night.
Honestly whether you’re a local or a visitor… don’t think anyone would be missing out on anything here. The food is just okay and the only redeeming thing is the view. But going once is probably all you’ll need.

We go there every month, every time we visit San Antonio. The view is breathtaking, at night especially.
The service is good, except a liitle pushy to make you drink or eat.
The seafood is great, very inventive, and tasteful. The desserts, the soufflé especially, are great.
