I came for a quick lunch and ordered a gyro lunch plate which came with a small gyro, fries, Greek salad, and a beverage for about $ 10 after tax. It took about 10 mins for my order to be ready. I think my gyro had too much Tzatziki compared to the amount of meat but otherwise everything was good. The fries were fresh cut and the Greek salad was delicious. It’s an appropriate lunch portion for me, however if you have a large appetite it might not be enough.

Always get the gyro and I crave the Greek salad!!! Been here twice and will be returning for lunch. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Food is prepared quickly as well.

Yass! Good food! My husband and I ran in here before work one day and had a pretty great experience. Our food was hot, fresh, and tasty. For about $ 30 he got a huge gyro plate and I got the chicken souvlaki sandwich. We were both impressed by the taste of the meat and the freshness in the ingredients. The tzatziki sauce was very good! I wish I had gotten a side of the sauce to dip my fries into. The fries were fresh, hand cut, and super crispy, just the way I like them! There wasn’t much service to talk about, you walk up to the counter, the menu is on the wall and you pick up your order when they call your name. We didn’t feel rushed to place our order and the menu was very clear. We will definitely return. I can’t wait to try the spanakopita.

Years ago this was my «go to» spot for Greek food. Moved away from SA& haven’t eaten here in 15+ years. Still really good. Brings back so many great memories at this place. Absolutely recommend & look forward to eating here the next time I visit. Had a deluxe double gyro this time. 4 stars only cause the fries were a little to greasy.

Food was good and reasonably priced. I ordered the micro deluxe lamb gyro and it wasn’t micro at all! Pretty filling portion! Only thing that I knocked one star off for is that it was my first time there and I asked for suggestions but the cashier wasn’t very helpful.

This is the BEST demos location, the original. They are convenient to my house, reasonably priced, and above all DELICIOUS. The guys are very friendly and help explain the menu. I usually order the original, regular gyro with beef. I love tzatziki so I don’t mind it being slathered on — I love the flavor. If you don’t, be sure to tell them! Their salads are also good, and my daughter loves the chicken skewer.

Love love love the food here! This was the first place in SA that I ate Greek food at & it was a hit! The staff was super friendly and helpful with my questions about the menu. I had the gyro and another time I had the Greek salad. Honestly I’ve tried some of the items my friends had as well and it all tasted great. Low key atmosphere, decent prices and amazing food. You can’t go wrong. This place is ALWAYS a good idea! Keep up the great work, Demos!

I’ve come to demos for years but I won’t be back. The employees seem terribly depressed, and it makes me sad eating there. I’m not sure what’s going on there, but everything suffered. They drowned my gyro in tatziki and onions, with barely any chicken. My boyfriends gyro was burned till it was crispy.

The person who said their lunch prices are high is correct. They really only have 2 specials that avg $ 10. Watch out for their to go charge for styrofoam, .50. I had the Greek salad and the fries. Both were good but the fries had no seasoning. Overall, it’s worth getting to split with a friend.

I have been to their other location on Saint Mary’s St but this one is definitely better. Salad was fresh and delicious. I’ll surely come back to have some more!

Lovely and mildly spiced Greek dishes. The bechamel has a nice touch and is not too fattening(not cream, milk) but they still take the time to create it as a soufflé! People don’t like the prices but the efforts to make the food right, not«right now» is what I’m after.

I’ve had better food and service at Demo’s. The gyros were doused in yogurt sauce, making it messy and unflavorful. The $ 3.00 salad had one olive, which I kindly asked for a couple more and I was told that the salad only comes with one olive and I’d have to pay extra for more. The falafel had a very thin patty, and only one, and the extra iceberg lettuce made the wrap fuller. All in all, I think I need to start looking for a different Greek place to eat in town.

Food is pretty good. Not the best gyro I’ve ever had. I ordered the dieter’s gyro plate. The salad was decent, but for $ 10.20 I would expect more. It’s basically a ton of lettuce, a slice of tomato, a few pieces of red onion and a light sprinkle of feta. The meat is alright. Nothing to write home about. Unsweet tea wasn’t good at all. It taste like nasty water. Overall 3 stars. Staff wasn’t very friendly, but not rude. It’s close to the hotel I’m staying at near airport and they do takeout. I’m in San Antonio often for business, I most likely will try somewhere else for Greek.

We go here pretty often and I can honestly say I never had a bad meal here. To be fair, I always get the Deluxe Gyro– and it’s always delicious. The employees are nice enough and there’s plenty of options on the menu if you’re looking to try new things(though I’m obviously not, ha!). The only reason for a deduction in stars is the to-go fries. Most of the time we come here, it’s to-go. Even when I’ve been early picking up and they’re still cooking their fries come out a little TOO greasy. I love my fattening fries as much as the next American, but I feel like they fries could be cooked a little differently so they’re not quite so dripping in oil/grease. Other than that, I love it! Always add the tzatziki, it’s basically greek ranch.

This place serves pretty good food. I ordered the kabab plate and my guest ordered the falafel sandwich. It didn’t take more than 15 minutes for our food to be ready, and the kababs were tasty. But the problem with my plate was not the taste, it was the portioning. The plate had barely 10 ounces of beef grilled. That must cost them maybe a dollar(max). The marinade is fairly simple, and yet I was charged 12 dollars. I honestly felt like i barely took a bite of the food, I was so hungry still. The salad that was served with it was good, but there was further no pita bread served with my plate nor any hummus. So I felt a little ripped off. The falafel sandwich was not so bad, however the parties were thin and fairly simple tasting. Have had better falafel that’s for sure. Overall I rate my experience here to be average.

Really good greek food! My second favorite greek restaurant. I’ve tried this place twice and have not been disappointed. It is a little pricey for lunch but it’s filling and its a lot of good. Try the gyro pita!

Always quality and tasty gyros and fries. Fries are freshly cooked and they stay hot while you are eating your gyro. You have to be careful with the gyro because aluminum foil is very hot when you get the gyro. That is ok because the foil keeps the heat in until you finish eating the gyro.

I have a couple of friends and we all take turns picking a place on Tuesday afternoons. My friend picked this location. Funny thing is, we have one right around the corner from where we live, so we drove 20 minutes extra. Good news, you probably have one right around your corner as well. It was recommended by a Greek family, but I think they live near this location. The place’s atmosphere was OK. Nothing spectacular, but we came for authentic Greek food. Their mini gyro I got was fabulous. We all had different dishes and each of us left full and satisfied. My only question is why is the gyro served with fries? The fries were fine, but it just seemed like a strange pairing to me. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. This is an ideal place if you need to fuel up on good Greek food. Not necessarily a first date-night spot, more of a «we’re hungry and in our shorts» kinda joint. Either way worth a try.

Ive been here a couple of times now. I havent been disappointed at all. Authentic Greek cuisine and friendly service. Everything is made to order and its fast. Nice quite place. Clean and just right for two or small families. Menu is extensive and prices are reasonable for the amount of food. I will be going back more!

Fantastic Greek food at a local, family owned restaurant. Been in business 35 years and I can see why.
