I have been a loyal Doubledave’s fan for a long time and usually have had positive experiences. Today for lunch however, I was very disappointed. The salad bar was cleaned out after the first wave of the lunch rush and most of the canisters were never refilled in the 45 minutes I was there. I also noticed that some of the cucumber slices were not washed. the Pizza’s were slow in coming out and they were doughy and heavy. Looking around at other tables, a lot of whole slices of pizza left on plates, most of which were paper plates. It will be quite a while before I think about going back.

I come here mostly because of convenience since it is just down the street. The pizza is ok, nothing out of this world. Just a word to the wise… don’t get the salad bar within an hr of closing unless it looks decently stocked with food ie. lettuce. Yes, they had run out of lettuce and I didn’t notice when I ordered the salad bar. It was an hr before closing and when I went to get my salad I had to ask for lettuce. I was told that they don’t normally restock the salad bar that closely to closing(I seriously only asked for lettuce-an essential salad ingredient– not for them to refill the toppings). The girl at the cashier had to go look for some in the back, which took a verrrry long time, and when she came back she commented that she would have to stay until midnight because she was now«behind.» Um… then don’t sell me the salad! Actually, she seemed very flustered so I let the comment slide this time…

I’m gonna keep this one short and sweet. For a chain pizza joint Double Daves is great. The pizza was a tad greasy but what do you expect from pizza right? The pizza rolls are legit and the calzone will rock your socks off. If your in a hurry you can’t go wrong with double daves!

Fresh pizzas! But runs out fast!!! Production is so slow! Taste, is decent enough especialy the Philly Cheese steak. Restrooms, dirty, if my son had a choice he didnt want to use them. Over all, nice concept, good food, poor management, short staffed. Cici“s Pizza is better.

I took the kids and nephew to Double Daves and everyone was so excited! The dessert pizza rocks. This is an oldy — but goody — go to place. They got their pizza roll fix and I had the salad bar. I like the old school Galaga game and the kids like the other games and toys they have inside. It’s a win-win. The pizza rolls are a standard and are great. I first had Double Daves in college — dipped in ranch dressing — and was glad to see one open up here in San Antonio. But they don’t have nickel beer anymore, like they did way back in the early 90’s! Ha!

During the off hours of the buffet the place is empty. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We got the deep dish with the works. The pizza was full of toppings and not a lot of sauce, which I love. I was interested in their honey wheat crust which sounds amazing. We are planning on going back to try the buffet to see all that they have to offer.

I really wanted to like DoubleDaves because it is close to our house. Sadly, the pizza is best described as mediocre — Pizza Hut level pizza. What will keep me from ordering from them again is that in two times we have ordered(once online and once by phone), they have both times messed up our order — despite correcting them on the phone when they said it wrong.

I used to work at a Double Daves(not this one, the one I worked at closed) and I still love the pizza. I’ve been to different locations in different cities and they are consistent. It’s not the best pizza but it is a great value for the taste to price ratio. The cheesesteak stromboli is amazing. Too bad they had to change the ingredients for the cinnacubes or whatever they were called, those were dessert from heaven. I live in San Francisco now and one time had to drive back to San Antonio. We were driving into El Paso around dinner time and looking for a pace to eat. Never been to El Paso besides just driving through so didn’t know where to go. I saw a sign for Double Daves and got so excited, hadn’t ate at one in several years. My wife had it for the first time and loved it too.

While I’m not a big fan of the in-dining buffet here, I do love Double Dave’s delivery service. You can order your pizzas, pepperoni rolls, etc. online and save your favorite orders so you are ready to go at the click of your mouse. You can pay for it in advance on your credit card and add the tip, so when the pizza guy gets to the house and your babysitter answers the door, she has no need to do anything – really handy! I like their thin-crust pizza, and my kids rave about the dessert pizza selections. Super convenient, fast, friendly pizza delivery makes this a great choice for dinner for our kids and babysitter(and late night snack for my husband and me!) when we are headed out for the evening.

As far as pizza buffets go, DoubleDave’s is definitely one of the better ones in town. I try to go when they are busy so the pizza is coming out more frequently and is nice and hot. If the buffet food is older it does get a bit nasty. I am a fan of the large beer selection and totally heart the Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli. It has to be hot and fresh out ot the oven, though, or yuck. One other thing I have noticed about this location is that they will tend to leave tables unbussed for a while. I don’t want to look at the next table’s half eaten food.

Friendly staff, good beer selection, cheap food(count on getting quantity rather than quality). The silverware at the Sunset Ridge location is often dirty, and the pizza is nothing to impress anyone with gourmet tastes. This restaurant is family-friendly, however, and often publishes«kids eat free» coupons which is beneficial for those on a budget.

Great place for buffet lunch or dinner with the kids. My family has dropped in numerous times for the buffet. They make every pizza we request, the service is consistently good and the price is great(especially with the kids eat free on Sunday)! My 10-year old is always asking to return.

Double Dave’s isn’t all that exciting. It’s buffet style and they have variety, but it just doesn’t taste great. It’s got big screen TVs for the big game, and video games for the kids.

Fantastic pizza. Dave is also a beer guy so he has lots of interesting beers on tap. If you’re nice they’ll even let you sample a beer before you get it. Pizzas and pretty well priced and go great with beer. They usually have sports on the tv, whats not to love?
