I just finished chemotherapy for ovarian cancer 3 weeks ago. My husband said I should go spoil myself with a message to feel better and to reward myself for all I went through. I called around to a number of local massage places. I called Elements and told them my situation and explained about my finishing chemo and looking for a therapist that specialized in patients that had cancer. At first they recommend Alma… but her schedule was evenings and I was looking for someone during the day. Then they recommended Hailey. So I made an appointment. Today I went in for my appointment. I filled out the paperwork. When Hailey came out she greeted me coldly. Didn’t shake my hand like the other therapist did with the client before me. She basically said«we will be in room 5 on the right». Then I sit my stuff down and she looks at me paperwork and says«Do you have a doctor’s note?». I said«Why… I am done with chemo and have been for 3 weeks». She says«well I can’t give you a massage unless you have a doctor’s note for liability reasons. I told her I called and spoke to the front desk and no one said anything about needing one. She was cold and rude and said well it has only been three weeks and I can’t do it without one». I proceeded to walk out crying… went to the front desk and asked them why they didn’t tell me this. Hailey walks out and says«Well they wouldn’t know». Really??? So who is supposed to tell patients if not the front desk??? Are we all just supposed to walk in and be rudely turned away. I was so upset about how I was treated. I then came home and called their other location. I explained AGAIN about the cancer and chemo and that I was three weeks out from treatment. Once again I was told I DIDN“T need a doctors note since I was out of treatment. I then called a few other large massage places. All told me I DIDN“T need a doctors note. So I wasted my TIME and my MONEY on gas to go to this location and be treated like this. In addition Hailey was borderline rude, cold and uncaring. She wasn’t even nice when she explained things to me. No way would I have called my doc for a note… which I didn’t need in the first place.

I started going there and I really loved the massages. However they were charging my credit card for a program I signed up for to get better rates, however after a few massages accumulated They did not allowed me to cancel until I finished using all the pending massages and they kept charging me for more every time. This was something they never told me at the beginning. So my card got expired they couldn’t charge any more so they end up canceling the 2 pending massage I had. I request to speak with the Manager and she did not took my call. So if you go don’t give up your credit card or they will screw you bad.

I absolutely loved this place and saw Alma. She was very experienced and knew exactly where to help me with the knots and tension in my shoulders and back. Recently, however, I called to inquire about their membership program. I did not book an appointment, but did receive a voicemail asking if I would be interested in pursuing the membership and appointment. As I’m a teacher and incredibly busy, I just didn’t have the time to call back. I did get a call from Julia(possible Julie) stating that I owed $ 25 for missing my appointment. When I explained to her that I never confirmed an appointment, she responded with, «I see we did call you yesterday, and it would have been nice to have gotten a call back.» I was completely taken aback by this response. Not only was she telling me I was being charged $ 25 for an appointment I never confirmed, but she also slipped in a snarky comment. In the end, she did void the $ 25, but the damage was done. Customer service means everything, and theirs is obviously lacking.

Started off well with a Groupon. Then after a great massage, I purchased their spa membership which included one free massage for signing up. The cancellation policy calls for 30 days notice. I called and cancelled before the 30 days and was told that they would close the account and I had two massages left to redeem. The lady I spoke to said there was a form to fill out but was just a technicality and assured me, my account was closed. I completed the form and sent it in and was called by the spa. A young lady explained why she was charging my card for yet another month. I was frustrated but did not have time to deal with it and said fine. Today, I was called by another person there and told they wanted a new credit card. I asked why and was told it was necessary in order to REDEEMTHEMASSAGES I ALREADYPURCHASED… Needless to say I was not impressed and asked for the manager. The lady said«Oh my manager told me to call you and get the card». The manager then came on the phone and said«how can I help you». I asked if her employee had not told her why I wanted to speak to her? She said she did know. So why is she wasting my time repeating it all for a fourth time? After explaining AGAIN, the rather snotty little manager said if I was upset about the service, she had a good resolution and suggested that I don’t come back!!! Yes folks… go for a nice massage and then STRESSYOURSELFOUTDEALINGWITHTHESEPEOPLE.

At first I really liked Elements Massage. I went to James and he is fantastic! I highly recommend him but be aware that there is a limit to how many times you can use groupon. I decided to stop giving Elements my business based on another friend’s experience with her masseur Christian. It was her first massage so she was already nervous. It was fine but near the end of her massage while her eyes were closed, he leaned in uncomfortably close and actually KISSED her. He apologized, said it was unprofessional, then tried AGAIN. What’s worse than the experience is that when my friend reported the incident, they denied it, said she was lying and failed to confront Christian. Whether or not you believe this incident happened, the fact that the business did not take it seriously tells me everything I need to know.

I have been getting a massage here twice a month for the past 9 months, and I LOVEIT! The staff is extremely friendly and works with you to accommodate an appointment that fits your schedule. I have enjoyed my massages with every masseuse that I’ve been scheduled with. The place is very clean and tranquil and you have a lot of privacy. I always ask them to focus on my upper back, shoulders, and neck, and they have done so every time. Several of my friends now visit Elements Massage for their massages too!

I had a very good experience here. I was unsure after a few of the reviews, but when going with a Groupon I figured I could take the risk. Pros: — Clean, quiet lobby with very kind receptionist. — The individual rooms are separated by walls, not curtains, so there is a lot of privacy. I like that the rooms are fairly dark, and the massage table was clean. There was soothing music playing. — My LMT Haley took a minute before we started to ask what my concerns were, so I was able to ask her to focus on certain areas. This was a big deal to me. The massage felt great. — Here is my favorite part: She mentioned at the beginning that if I wanted to carry on a conversation, that was fine with her but otherwise she would stay quiet. I LOVE this because sometimes LMTs want to chat and I feel like I’m being rude if I just lay there quietly. It’s like that Seinfeld episode. Anyway, I didn’t feel guilty not keeping a conversation so I could really relax. Cons: — I wish she had worked on the actual knots in my muscles a little more. I’m not sure if the massage just didn’t make a huge difference, or if I have such stubborn knots that one session just won’t do it. The latter is probably the cause, because I just finished 7 years of college/grad school and a brutal licensing exam so stress has made my back and shoulders basically a rock formation. — This is so nitpicky, I hate mentioning it. I really do. But the clock in the massage room clicked REALLY loud. Maybe it was just more obvious because it was out of rhythm with the soothing music? Anyway, this is a stupid thing — not even a complaint — just tiny detail. It was probably more distracting to my OCD brain than it would be to a normal person.

Bought a Groupon. Was placed with Michelle as my therapist. It was a decent full body massage; however, I asked her to please focus on my upper right back, due to a recent injury. She barely even touched my upper right back! Didn’t try to work on any knots either! I kept thinking she was going to come back to it at the end and then the massage was over and I left with an untouched upper right of my back. I was nearly in tears when I left because the only reason I bought this Groupon was to help relieve the excruciating pain I’m experiencing.

This is an awesome place – very friendly front desk staff and it’s always easy to make an appointment. I’d had a couple of different therapists – James and Bianca – and both were great. It’s become the place I go to in San Antonio for a massage.

I found this place when searching for somewhere to redeem my Spa Finder gift card. I called late on a Sunday and was surprised to book an appointment for that evening. The staff is lovely and the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing. Esther was my first therapist and continues to be the one I see regularly. She’s so well in tune with my troubled areas and gives me just what I need. Get on the monthly program. You won’t regret it.

Not enough people know about this place. I like it because it’s close to where I live and I can always get a same-day appt. The majority of massage therapists(especially the ones you see on Groupon) don’t have the same convenience and availability. If I want a massage, Element most likely be able to book me within the next 4 hours, even on the weekend. It’s located in a nice shopping center, the facility itself is great, and the front desk staff is friendly. As with all studios with several therapists, you have to try different therapists until you find the right one, so sometimes you need patience. The very first guy I had was great, but he left Elements before my next visit. I hit a dud for my next two sessions(I unfortunately had him two times in a row because I didn’t remember his name the second time I booked with him). Then my next two therapists were good. I especially love Kathryn and highly recommend her!!! She gave me one of the best, if not the best, deep tissue massage I’ve ever had. Whenever I go back, I’m going to specifically request her.

Great receptionists, always polite. Find the therapist that works right for you. Mine is Kim B. Hands down the best. The wellness program is worth the extra money per month.

I just had my first massage with Kim and it was wonderful! She really knows what she’s doing and did an amazing job to relieve the pain in my shoulders and neck. I can’t wait until my massage I have scheduled next month! To add an update: One day I woke up with terrible pain in my knees. After easing up on the power walks and treating them at home for a week, I went to my primary care doctor. He said that I was aging and that’s how it is. He prescribed pain meds. I didn’t want pain medication; I wanted a fix because I’m too young(56) and active to be nearly crippled. At my next appointment with Kim I told her about my knees. She thought it sounded like ITB Syndrome. I didn’t even know that I had ITBs. After an hour of deep tissue massage I felt better and the next day was back to normal! She showed me two stretches that I do after warming up and at the end of my walk, and I’ve had no problems since! I’m appalled by my doctor’s diagnosis and soooooo thankful for Kim’s expertise. It makes me wonder how many other people are on pain meds that don’t need to be.
