I came to Feast for my birthday and it was great. The hostess was very friendly and the restaurant worked with my reservation. All of my birthday guests enjoyed their meal and they even had VEGAN options for my friends, which thoroughly impressed them. The Mac and cheese is amazing and a great starter that everyone can enjoy. The oysters are fried to perfection and absolutely delicious. One of my friends had the burger and loved it! Our young lady server was very nice and accommodating. The staff all seem to have great appearances which seems to be a must for Feast. The enthusiastic wait staff definitely made up for the cold female manager who had the presence of the grinch and made me want to hide my presents. The drinks from the bar were very delicious and they have a great wine selection. This is the perfect place to have an event for anyone with food restricting diets. Make a reservation just to be safe!

I came here as a second choice tonight with two of my gal pals when we realized Hot Joy had a long wait. We sat inside and as expected it was extremely loud inside but due to our wardrobe we didn’t want to sit outside. While screaming our orders to our server, whose name I never caught, we were also having to shout to one another to converse. Again, to be expected in a small space on a Saturday night. My friends received their food in waves, 5 minutes between each dish being delivered, nothing EVER came out together. It was thirty minutes later when my entrée, the falafel plate hadn’t come out, a seemingly easy dish to make compared to my friends meat centered entrees. I asked my server when my dish would he coming out and he went to check on it. He came back and let me know that the«fire station» was backed up. But how long REALLY does it take to throw 8 tiny falafels in a fryer and toast some bread? I was about to cancel my order but after an hour and twenty minutes my plate came out and it was honestly gross. It was about 8 small falafel pieces, burnt, with charred pita bread which had an awful after taste. The mango chutney was the only good thing on the plate which I had to rub on the rest of my food. Thankfully I didn’t have to pay for it since it took an overwhelmingly long time, but even with that I’d never come back here. Plus as a vegan this was the only dish I could order, other than the salad, that I could eat. And I’d never pay $ 11 for the plate I had.

I would like to start this off by saying I like to go out and try new places, especially fine restaurants on the higher end of the price spectrum, and if I don’t like it… I have never written a negative review about it on any forum. I heard FEAST was a spectacular restaurant from many people including most of the reviews online. I decided I was going to take my wife there for Valentine ‘s Day, but they were booked up so I went the day before(Saturday). We were told to arrive precisely at 6:30pm because they were going to do a fixed menu tasting. We showed up right at 6:30 and were seated right away. We waited 20MINUTES until we were greeted at our table for drinks. Servers walked by us numerous times and completely ignored us. Mind you, they were not in the weeds at all… the restaurant was not that busy. I was about to get up and leave but right as we were getting up our waitress finally greeted us so we decided to stay because I was expecting amazing food. We had a 5 course tasting. 1. Crab cake(very very small) 2. Salad 3. Risotto(it was cold and when we asked the waitress why it was cold she said the chef sends it out how its supposed to be eaten. BS) 4. Braised short(maybe 2oz of glorified pot roast with mashed potatoes) 5. A Neapolitan tart with strawberry ice cream. The food was mediocre at best. And I left unsatisfied. I wasn’t expecting to leave there stuffed because this isn’t that type of restaurant, but for the price I was expecting to taste fine foods prepared correctly. I guess you could say the crab cake was the only thing that belonged on the menu for the price. Everything on that menu I could have prepared in my own home for 1⁄10th the price. Overall the check was $ 240.00 for 3 drinks, food, and the tip(20%.). The service was terrible and the food was barely good enough to be served at a chain restaurant for half the price. I was expecting something terrific from«one of the best rated restaurants in San Antonio.» After we ate there I went and spend $ 6 on some late night mini tacos that were 10 times better than anything I had at FEAST. I went to sleep that night feeling like I got hustled out of my money. It’s been 3 days and I still can’t believe I spent that much money on a terrible experience. I couldn’t possibly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We made our second trip to Feast last night and once again it did not disappoint. My wife and I recently found the King William district just south of San Antonio’s downtown and river walk, and it’s a really neat area with lots of awesome looking places. Feast is located in this area and fits right in. I love this place because of the tapas-style service: lots of small, sharable plates. It allows your entire table to try a bunch of the offerings in small, manageable portions. I went with three other people, so we had no shortage of options, as each of us ordered two plates. Some of the highlights included a tuna tartar, which was very Mediterranean tasting, a spinach risotto that looked like something out of a Dr. Seuss book but tasted amazing, and the grilled lamb belly on a bed of polenta and greens. Make no mistake, everything we had was good, but these really stuck out to me. They also have a solid beer, wine, and mixed drink list which is always a plus. There are a few negatives, but they are relatively minor: my wife is pregnant and is tired of her only non-alcoholic options being soda or tea. Sometimes, bars will whip up something virgin if you ask, but our server said that wasn’t possible. You’d think with the creativity they put into their mixed drinks, they could have come up with something. Also, when we asked our server about an ingredient in a dish, she seemed like she didn’t know, or she didn’t understand our question. We just wanted to know what we were eating. But like I said, those are minor quibbles in an otherwise awesome review. Feast opened our eyes that great food is definitely off the beaten path.

It was a lazy Sunday morning. After a quick Unilocal search, the wife and I decided to check out Feast without having reservations for brunch. First impression? Feast exuded an energetic, hip, vibe that seemed more South Beach than King William even going so far as to have a DJ out on the patio. It was obviously a popular place for brunch as the restaurant was almost at capacity with walk up seating only available at the bar. As we frequently like to do, we opted to sit at the bar. While looking over the menu, we started off with drinks. I had the Bloody Marie($ 7) made with a house infused chipotle & habanero chile vodka. As with all good Bloody Marys(or variations), it’s all about the mix. Feast’s mix nailed it as it was fresh, bright, nicely seasoned, and blended perfectly with the chile-infused vodka. For my meal, I had the Brisket Tacos($ 12). I received 2 soft tortillas filled with healthy portion of tender and flavorful beef brisket. It came with a side of pan-roasted, herbed potatoes. Service throughout our meal from the bar staff was friendly and efficient. I pushed back from the bar completely satisfied. Feast didn’t break any new ground with innovations to brunch fare. That said, it executed its food, drinks, and service with unmistakable quality and care at a reasonable price. It easily backed up its style with more than an equal amount of substance. Feast was an excellent place for brunch. I can’t wait for a return visit for dinner, since its dinner menu looked pretty amazing!

I’d say 3.5 stars… The food was good but not wow. My boyfriend & I went with another couple, shared 9 different plates, left still hungry & out $ 70+. We probably won’t return but it was worth checking out.

We came here recommended by our Airbnb host on our first weekend night in SA. We arrived as HH started and were seated promptly. The ambiance has an ethereal funky vibe that we enjoyed. The waiters were very friendly, and described the plates with very vivid detail. Everything came out as expected, promptly, and delicious! We tried the corn croquettes, the mussels, the lettuce wraps, lamb belly with polenta, and all were excellent. The most surprising dish was the salmon! Super tasty!!! The bread pudding with candied bacon ice cream took our satisfaction to another level. We definitely recommend this place! Cheers!

Service was good but with this being a tapas place I knew what I was getting myself into with portions but it was disappointing the food was less then stellar. The lamb kebabs were amazing but that’s where it ends. Place looks amazing with great ambience.

We initially tried to go to Hot Joy(next door) but was asked if we had a reservation. Oops! We did not. My bad. So they take my name and number and tell me they will text me when a table is ready in an hour and a half or so. So my wife(who’s with child lol) can’t wait that long to eat decide to walk over here to feast! We were sat promptly and the staff was great. Very welcoming and informative on the style of restaurant and how to proceed with our dinner. The menu was great, easy to ready everything seemed very well thought out. It was eclectic but not crazy. We were over whelmed with delicious options so decided to ask the waiter for recommendation. He told us the lamb kabobs and the Mac and cheese. Both options turned out great the kabobs especially. The macaroni was ok. We also ordered the calamari and the barbacoa lettuce wraps(THEBESTOFTHEBUNCH) And then came the homemade ice cream and bread pudding! Sooooo good. I’ve had dreams about it.

I had dinner at Feast recently with a group of girlfriends, and it was a decidedly mixed bag. The good: our waitress, Erin, was extremely sweet and attentive. The food was excellent and innovative, and it was reasonably priced. Small plates were great to share with the group. We particularly liked the burger and the mussels, and the Queen martinis were excellent. The(very) bad: when we arrived, our group decided to get a drink at the very crowded bar while waiting for our table, as one does. One of my friends ordered a glass of wine, which the bartender Noah placed on the tile bar counter. My friend accidentally knocked over the glass of wine, and the glass broke. Noah? Was not pleased. He huffed loudly, and complained that the restaurant was«almost out of wine glasses.» Now, I understand that it’s far from desirable from a bartender’s standpoint to have to clean up spilled wine and broken glass, and it’s probably hard to serve wine all night sans adequate glassware. But, his extreme annoyance was off-putting. Did Noah think my friend had ordered the wine with the express intent of knocking it over and breaking the glass, thereby preventing her(a mother of three, who surely deserves a glass of wine) of the joy of actually drinking it? In what weird universe would that make sense? We apologized profusely, but Noah’s surly attitude was not softened, nor was a replacement glass of wine offered. Bad, bad Noah. You should maybe consider a career outside of the service industry. May I suggest the Xfinity call center, or a health insurance company? They love guys like you. TL;DR: good food, Erin is a great waitress, Noah needs a Xanax. Send more glassware.

This restaurant is a trendy, small option that is great for a date night. I came here for dinner on a Saturday night and the place was very crowded. I called ahead and they said they don’t take reservations for parties smaller than six, but there was no wait around 6:45 pm. There are plenty of tables — both indoor and outdoor — so I wouldn’t worry about long waits. The dining area is hip and bright. They are going with an ultra modern décor scheme and this definitely fit with the type of food they serve here. The food was mostly tapas and small plates. The only exception was the burger as it was a Texas-sized burger with fries. The menu is seasonal and broken into categories so it was very easy to read. The only downside was that there were too many options to choose from that sounded good. My partner and I shared four of their shareable items. In descending order, the items that were the best included: mac and cheese($ 9), falafel($ 11), barbacoa lettuce wraps($ 14), and the spicy squash($ 9). They were all very good and perfect portions for sharing. They had a number of interesting cocktails on the menu as well but I did not partake. Although the food was very good, I had a few problems with the service. I felt like the waiter was a little disinterested with his job and our table. He was very engaging when we first sat down but then disappeared a lot. He was also very short when it came to paying the bill. He just threw the bill on the table and walked away. He didn’t really check in throughout the meal either. My other big complaint was with the way the food was delivered to the table. They warned us up front that it is prepared as it is ordered and the plates will arrive accordingly. I am ok with that as it was a sharing meal but when three of the plates arrive within ten minutes of each other and the fourth takes another 20 minutes after that, we ended up with an awkward pause in the middle of the meal. This normally wouldn’t be an issue but we saw three other tables that were sat after us have the same item delivered to their table before ours. When I asked the waiter if everything was ok with that plate, he got upset and said it’s coming out. Overall, this place had some good food. It was definitely one of the more interesting food selections I have seen in San Antonio. The restaurant was trendy and loud and had many diners enjoying meals. If they work on the service and the small amounts of pretentiousness that the staff exhibit, this place will be a perfect choice for a meal on S Alamo.

Great spot for brunch. Came on a Sunday 15 minutes prior to opening and there was already a line. We were seated right away and had great service. Food — food is awesome! We tried crepes, blintzes, 4 egg omelette, blueberry pancakes and the battered sausages. Everything was fresh and excellent. Ambiance — well designed contemporary décor. Loved the outdoor courtyard and the crisp white styling with crystal glam. Service — excellent, attentive, informed and friendly. Con — acoustics! We sat in the front room and had a hard time hearing one another. The waiter said this was the worst spot to sit for acoustics. Tips — arrive early or make a reservation. Portions are large so consider trying an array for sharing. Parking is street only so arrive early. Sit outside if you can.

I wish I could give Feast a better rating but I can’t. This was our first visit and the staff was friendly and provided good service. Unfortunately the food was only passable. We ordered the sausages in pancake batter served with blueberry dipping sauce. These are served«corn dog» style. The flavor was great but the pancake batter was slightly undercooked and a bit doughy. We also ordered The WT(to share) which consists of biscuits with sausage gravy, 2 fried eggs, a slice of candied bacon and breakfast potatoes. Again the flavors were good but the dish showed up lukewarm and after a couple bits was cold. I can only imagine how good it would have been had it been had the food been served a the proper temp. I’m undecided about giving them another try.

We came here for dinner on a Saturday — The service was great, the food was delicious and the place is so fun and cool!(even though the lighting is dark in here) This is a tapas style place. People complain that the food«comes out so random» but it doesnt. You get one plate at a time because its Tapas. You share. We liked not getting all the food at once. It made you appreciate each plate individually. We had the Corn Fritters, I didnt think they were anything special, but they were good. Just Corn Fritters is all. Shashito Peppers — for being a big bowl of peppers, these things were my favorite! Sauteed in Feta and Chorizo after being grilled(Im guessing here, Im not sure the steps) these little suckers were good. No they arent hot either. Lamb Kabobs — the waiter said these were the top seller so we ordered them. We arent big lamb lovers but these were very good. 4 kabobs to a plate. Pork Lettuce Wraps — these were ok. The pork was watery which made these little wraps kind of messy to eat. We used a fork instead. They were good, but nothing special really. All in all, the 4 items we purchased was just the right amount of food for 2 people. We had 1 glass of wine and 2 beers and our bill was around $ 68.00. If you’re looking to impress a lady date, bring her here for dinner.

I’ve been to feast numerous times at night and was satisfied but not wowed. This morning I celebrated a friends birthday over the Sunday brunch. Literally everyone was so pleased with their food. I tried a little from everyone. I sampled the sausage wrapped in pancakes and served with blueberry syrup, the French toast, the fried egg sandwich, the potatoes, the grand mimosa, eggs in hell and a few other things I can’t remember the names. Honestly everything was great. Very surprising and very filling. The night time cocktails are amazing and the atmosphere is super cool. I’d recommend anytime. Service was great, the food took awhile to come out but the place was packed so it was understandable. My drinks were always refilled at the best time. John was our server and did a great job with our party of 12. He helped us celebrate our friend Sarah’s birthday in trendy fashion :)

So much hype about this place, especially for brunch. Needless to say, I think it was overrated. There were several reviews about bad service, but I found everyone to be friendly. Food was prompt and good portion. It is very lovely and they have a DJ and music playing. Called ahead to find out the wait time and she said there wasn’t any. I get there within 15 minutes and all of a sudden it’s a 30 minute wait. Oddly enough, there were about 7 tables available and only 3 people ahead of me. She was friendly but it was annoying. Went and sat at the little waiting area by the bar where the other 3 groups of people were hanging out. Sure enough, 4 minutes later she came back and said oh I have a table for u now. Because i scoped out the menu beforehand, I new I wanted the almond pistachio french toast. It was abit underwhelming. The pistachio pieces tasted great. Couldn’t take the almond anywhere. The French toast batter is meh. Maybe I’m spoiled by LA brunches, but it was a one time time visit for me. Also, just i town for work.

Rolled up for brunch on a Sunday morning to a packed house and an expected wait time of 45 minutes. I don’t mind waiting for greatness but our meal was lackluster and service was nonexistent. After 45 minutes of watching people leave but seeing tables remain uncleared or unused(I counted 8 just from my view on the patio), I asked the hostess for an update on our table and we were seated five minutes later– at the empty table right by the front door, that had been empty since we first put our name down. Strike one. Our server came by and greeted us with, «You guys had a chance to look at the menu while you waited, right? Are you ready to order?» LOL wut. You can’t do your job efficiently but I better be ready to be your easiest customer ever, huh? My sister asked for a minute to decide between two choices, and our server didn’t come back for ten minutes. Strike two. Food came out quickly. The Eggs in Hell($ 12) was a bland take on shakshuka, with a spicy tomato sauce being the only flavor on the plate. I enjoyed the polenta but wished it wasn’t flavorless. The accompanying bread was burned. Sister’s Truffled Egg Sandwich($ 13) had a tasty truffle-mayo sauce, but the house potatoes were not seasoned at all. The pancake-wrapped sausages($ 6) were okay: flavorful sausages tasted like they’d been dipped in funnel cake batter and were served with a blueberry sauce. Overall the food was lackluster. Strike three. Throughout our meal, the music in the dining room was so loud that we could not carry on conversation and we were not checked on by our server until we were over halfway done. The menu, décor, and location set an expectation for quality and service that the employees don’t even bother to try to meet.

3.5 star. Feast has been on my to do list for awhile but I hadn’t got around to it. Finally I came with my friend on a Saturday night. The ambiance was all right. I wasn’t impressed much by its cheapie looking furnitures but the night went on. I started the night by getting one of their signature cocktails called prince. It was not too shabby. Who needs a guy when you can have a prince, right?! Since they do tapa style dinning, my friend and I shared 4 – 5 plates. They were either hit or miss. I really liked maybe one or two. The rest of them weren’t that memorable at all. Overall, it was a fun night. I’m glad I came. Would I go again? Probably not since it wasn’t that special.
