Love it! I am never disappointed when I go to fogos. Tremendous service and lots of beef! The salad bar is awesome, but I recommend going easy on the salad and saving most of your appetite for the amazing selection of meats. FYI you can as ask your server for a sauté of onions and jalapeños that goes great with the meat.

We are here in San Antonio celebrating our son’s Air-Force BMT graduation. We wanted to treat him to a special meal. I think this was a win. The wait staff was very attentive. The food quality was excellent. Everything was fresh and the meats just keep coming. The Market table salad bar was very impressive. My best advice is to pace yourself. There is no need to rush. Each guest is given a two sided indicator,(it is placed in front of you… use it). Red means stop. Green means the meats will keep coming. Again, this wait staff was very attentive, we waited for nothing. The servers work as a team and we were well taken care of. They will also push the garlic mashed potatoes and fried bananas. Very good, but these starches will fill you up quick. We managed to save room for dessert and coffee. The coffee was rather strong. The brownie ala mode was decadent and rich. It paired well with the strong coffee. I have been to a similar Brazilian steakhouse in Toronto, this was better. The meats just kept coming. It is easy to overeat at a place like this.

This place was amazing! We showed up a little early so got a few drinks at the bar which ended up being a little pricey. I did think for what I ordered it was a little over priced but you understand that will happen when you walk in so no points taken away for that. Speaking on money I would say for someone like me this definitely would not be a nightly dining experience. But it was my anniversary so decided to go a little bigger. Now down to the food. It was amazing. I can’t say that enough. They have an open salad bar with so many different kinds of cheeses and mushrooms and everything was very fresh. I did not sample a whole lot as I wanted to save room for the main course. The meats were all delicious. I can’t say there was one part of the meal I did not enjoy. They are all served hot off the grill and unless you say stop they just keep it coming. I will absolutely visit here again in the future. Just may have to pre game a few drinks to save on the bar tab

Fogo was recommended by my Lyft driver as I was visiting. I did not know ahead of time that the cost was going to be $ 50 a person. I definitely would not have gone had I known the price in advance. The meats were tasty but the lack of side dishes that appealed to me kind of threw off the dinner. Don’t get me wrong, I love meat but I need something else other than meat. Had I been a fan of salad, I would have been fine. The service was okay. It took a while for the meat I wanted to try to come around so you have to eat in stages. If you are a meat lover and want to impress a date or are celebrating something special, then maybe this would be a good fit. However, just for a Saturday night, I would look elsewhere.

Staff is really nicely dressed, and very accommodating. The reason I did not get this restaurant I five was due to the inconvenience of parking. Great location during the day but I feel like there are excessive homeless, at night, but the lunch is equally great

I took my wife here for our one year anniversary. It was great. We didn’t eat for most of the day to have as much room for this place. There were so many varieties of meats that I couldn’t remember the names of my favorites when the servers made their rounds. It’s kind of pricy and can get very crowded but id definitely visit again.

My husband and I heard great things about this restaurant and despite some of the reviews, WEWENT! It was an Awesome experience. The Salad bar DEFINITELY was GREAT! I dont like too many meats the way THEY cooked them but my husband was in Heaven. Especially with the Lamb and the raw meat. I prefer mine WELLLLDONE I will say, they need to work on the sides though. Very boring! The desert was the best key line pie I’ve ever had. Once we got the bill I almost fell on the floor, But I was told itll be a little pricey so I kinda expected it. Great Experience. Will definitely go back again… IN6MONTHS!

I dream about this place. Seriously!!! It’s that good. Even the salad bar is amazing & filling! The meat is all so yummy & when you’re ready for more those guys are right there ready to serve you! I heard the dessert is great too, but I was too full to try. It’s pricey, but great for celebrating with friends & celebrating special occasions.

Yes, for the meat eater in each of us. Standard churrascaria format, this place is convenient to the riverwalk just of IH37. It was Jr’s 18th birthday so I took the fam. Made the reservation thru the Unilocal app which apparently just redirected me to OpenTable… either way, 8 pm on a Friday night for seven, no problem. The table was ready immediately. I’d asked for one out of the way and so it was. Our hostess for the evening explained everything to the newcomers among us, we placed our drink orders, and set off for the salad bar. Wow, what a selection! There was nothing I didn’t like. The oranges and grapefruit drizzled with olive oil, salt and pepper were delicious. The caprese salad also very tasty and fresh. But yes, the main event? The non-stop meat service, all kinds… Wowzers! :) Can’t remember what the house specialty meat is, but it was excellent! Also, the lamb chops were amazing and the filet mignon was worth the wait. The cocktails were decent enough, but if I did it over, I would just stick to wine with dinner. We finished the night off with créme brulee and molten chocolate cake, the birthday girl was comped! Overall, a very nice evening and a great way to usher in Jr’s adulthood. Thanks, Fogo.

We went here for Valentine’s day and dang was it packed! We had made reservations but was ~20 min late, luckily they were still able to accommodate us. We waited at the bar and ordered a super fruit lemonade, and I am not sure if it’s because I’m a lightweight or not but I thought it was SUPER strong, my hubby tried it and agreed with me as well. The service was very nice, explaining how this restaurant works, being our first time there. the salad bar was amazing, with good variety including cured meats and cheeses. they also come around with sides such as fried plantains and mashed potatoes. As for the meats, they were good but quite salty for my taste. I was especially a fan of the Lamb, Filet mignon and the Picanha. My only real complaint of the night was that it took FOREVER for us to get our checks. We sat there for a good 25 min waiting for them to return our card so we can sign and leave, however since they were doing a promotion, whoever dined with them on V-day will get a card for a free lunch or dinner for one, I guess only the managers could process the payments since they had to put in the giftcard as well. Over all I enjoyed the experience and the ambiance but I wouldn’t return unless it was a special occasion. P. S. The server who helped us most of the time, Isabel, was amazing. Always made sure our water glasses were full and was very fun, personable and helpful!

The food was awesome. But the situation with the valet. When we got there we had to wait in the car because they only had one person parking the cars. When we got out we, along with others waited 45 mins to an hour. Finally we just asked for our keys. When asked for a refund for a service that wants delivered he said«my manager said no». I than explained that we paid for a service that was not completed, and I am now going to have to walk to my car. Shocked to find out that my key was still in the drawer. After a great meal, that left a bad taste in my mouth. It would have been right to refund us the money.

I don’t know where to start. Should I start with the terrible service or the fact that the food never ever came out on time? Meat was always coming around late. Our waiter really just never came to out table unless he was bringing us the essentials that they provide like the mashed potatoes, banana foster style bananas, cheese breads, water etc. He never came back to refill our cups or provide much other service for that matter. The salad bar is not lit well enough so when you are looking to fill your plate with their veggies and cheeses, it is kind of hard to be appealed by them since they aren’t very visible! Meats were not making rounds fast enough for everyone to get fed and when we asked for a certain way for it to be cooked, it was not prepared this way and yet the servers would insist that it was. Not good. The only reason we went here was because Texas De Brazil was not open for lunch. Valet was not available and parking costed us $ 7 in the neighboring building. Disappointment floods my heart to have come to such a nice place and leave with such a bad experience.

Service was OK but meat quality not very good. Especially the lamb chops which originally came very overcooked, and when the cooked another time the cooking was OK but the taste was of low quality, probably not even choice. Other meats seemed to be the lower end of choice. Not worth the price.

I’m giving this 4 stars because the service was amazing. The food was delicious as well(minus the bacon wrapped chicken, super dry). The salad bar had a good variety. I would have been ok with just the salad bar and no meat but this was my first time here and had to experience the whole thing. Although everything was great, I don’t feel as if I got my $ 50 per persons worth. My husband made reservations for my birthday weeks in advance, them specifically asking for the occasion. We ordered an amazing desert(some kind of crème brûlée cheesecake, best desert ever) and then when we completed that desert, they brought out a complimentary desert. I didn’t need two deserts after all that food. They could have either made the cheesecake complimentary, warned us about the complimentary desert so we didn’t end up with two, or just charge us for the difference between the desert we ordered and the complimentary one. Although I guess I can’t complain because the desert we ordered was fantastic and the birthday desert was complimentary but like I said, definitely didn’t need two! All in all a good experience but I probably won’t be going back any time soon.

This was my first Brazilian bbq experience and it was amazing. I went in with some doubt because I love Korean bbq and figured nothing could be as good. But I was wrong… it was as good if not better… So much variety, all at the right temperature and they all tasted so good. I tried everything and and was never disappointed. Highly recommended for meat lovers out there.

Let’s just say that this fogo de chao is the better managed location between Austin’s. They trump them in every way from food quality, customer service, salad bar variety, and efficiency. The servers replaced our sides, made sure everything was to our liking, genuinely friendly, and approachable. Everything we got was richly flavored and charred to perfection. The servers came by constantly while we had our cards green and the support staff and manager made sure our dining experience was exceptional. We gave Austin’s location 3 tries and was disappointed each time. Definitely worth the drive here and it gives us a chance to be touristy in our backyard. I’d give this place 6 stars if I could.

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. Unfortunately, I can’t say the evening was anything past meh, ok. We went in expecting a real fine dining experience but upon arriving(with reservations made), we were sat an odd table that was isolated from everyone else and that faced the street. My husbands view consisted of commerce street, cars waiting to be parked valet(with many blinking lights to show) and people constantly walking by. Some of which thought knocking on the window would be a fun idea. This was our first time here so our waitress explained the buffet style sides and how the red/green system worked. I can’t say I’m a fan of the buffet style personally because I wasn’t looking forward to getting up once I was seated but if it works for them. I also find it strange that prices weren’t discussed. Maybe they assume everyone understands the set pricing but when you’re not accustomed to it, the experience become uncomfortable when you don’t know what included or what’s not or plainly what your meal will cost. I recommend going on an empty stomach because I definitely did not eat my 49.99 per person price tag. The food: I really enjoyed the sweet potato casserole and that bumped my rating to two stars(seriously it was great!). The meat was good but some cuts were dry and touted as «medium rare» when it was obviously well done and dry. Then when you find a cut you enjoy, you have to hope you see the server again or have to remember what it was before being able to enjoy more of it. I also want to add that I expected to see a different kind of dress attire when I arrived. We were dressed for a fine night out and saw lots of people in jeans and t-shirts. And yes, to each their own(I am not looking down on anyone for their dress code) but I couldn’t help but feel over dressed for what I thought I was going to. I guess this Fogo de Chao is great place for tourist to stop by but I wouldn’t return based on my last experience. It obviously works for many but in this case, not for me.

I had dinner 2 times at FDC, one in Washington DC and one last night at SA. Love tasty and tender meat. House special beef and the sirloin are my favorite! Ribs were a bit dried. When the place is busy, you need to work hard to gain attention from the waiters. A bit too pricey as with three person with 2 glasses of wine your bill can run to $ 200. Definitely not the place that we can come very often except special occasion.

Valet parking is $ 8 with validation. We were celebrating my birthday downtown with The Book of Mormon at the Majestic and decided on Fogo for dinner. I’d been to Chama Gaucha and Galpao Gaucho before, but wanted to try Fogo for comparison. I booked our reservation through Open Table for points. I ordered the Sea Bass with Market Table and was not disappointed. It was cooked perfectly, served with asparagus, and a smart option since it’s $ 7 cheaper than all the meat, but I was still able to try to Filet Mignon and the Picanha when it came around. Market table was good, but I think Chama has a bigger, more impressive one, and it’s cheaper there overall. We had a couple of glasses of Malbec which were both great. I could have eaten my weight in the mashed potatoes they bring to the table. I docked a star because my main squeeze was after the lamb chops and it was at least 30 minutes before those ever came by, so his plate was meatless for a while. It seems like Fogo has fewer gauchos running around with the meat, so service is slow, in my opinion. Plus, if there’s a big party seated near you, then the gaucho runs out of meat before he even gets to your table! Got a great surprise dessert for my birthday though and the waitress was very attentive. If we go back, it’ll likely be for lunch.

Today we celebrated an early birthday dinner for my nephew and it was FANTASTIC. It was my first time here and I would definitely come again for any special occasion. For 49.95 you get all the salad, and meat you want. I avoided the salad because I’m a carnivore and wanted all the meat I could devour! It can be a bit overwhelming because the meats keep on coming and coming to you. I had about 6 – 8 different meats and I forgot what each one was… lol. I know it ranged from sirloin, to pork ribs, bacon wrapped chicken and pork, lamb, filet mignon and the list goes on and on! They also served us garlic potatoes, caramelized plantains, and polenta. When you don’t want anymore meat, turn your little card over to red which means you’re taking a break. Turn it back to green and the meat comes back to the table. There is always room for dessert and I chose the Molton Chocolate Cake with ice cream. Nothing too special about that, but delicious non the less. The little rolls are good too. If you want water, they only give you spring, sparkling, or bottled water. Tap does not exist here. Expect to pay a price but it’s great for any special occasion.

Amazing restaurant. Ambience was great and the food was superb as well as the drinks. Waiters were fast on service with the meat skewers which at times made it hard to decide what to try next and left me wondering if I liked that certain meat, would the waiter be back with it again? How long do I have to wait or should I fill up on other proteins. In other words, I felt like I was eating delicious food under pressure. It was also really hard to understand what the waiters with the meat skewers were saying as their accent was terrible. For instance, when the waiters would come to our table with the meat(we were a party of 20), people at our party had no idea what they were serving other than delicious food.

Located in downtown San Antonio, and connected to Rivercenter Mall. It’s a good Brazilian steakhouse, which are becoming more and more popular here in San Antonio. Just like the others, the meat selection is extensive, with a salad bar and the usual snacks they bring to the table(cheesy rolls, fried banana, fried polenta, and mashed potatoes). The meat selection was pretty much the same as Chama Gaucha, which I have been to several times before. I thought the meat was just as good as Chama Gaucha, but there didn’t seem to be as many waiters serving the meat, so if you’re looking for something specific it might take a while, especially if it’s busy. The service here was good as well, but not great. Overall, I had a pleasant experience.

First visit review Valet parking is $ 15 and with a validation it will be $ 8. We came here for our 14 year anniversary. We made reservations via Unilocal app. That was awesome. We came on a Monday lunch. I have to day lunch is far cheaper than dinner. It was set up nice. I was a little confused at first on how things work but then I asked and they gentleman explained. Our daughter was half price of an adult lunch price and purchase 6 year old was free. The salad bar was amazing. Even if you just come to try the salad bar it’s ok. It is filling. The aray of meats they bring to your table was amazing. We tried everything they had. We became texas size full after the meal. After all that my kids water dessert. They ordered a Crème Brulee and a tres leches. Both were overly sweet. So don’t expect the dessert to be as amazing as the food. Just nibble on for fruit from the salad bar. ½ star for service 1 star for food 1 star for facilities 1 star for restrooms 1 star overall I think there were so many employees walking around making you feel comfortable but I think after 6 or 7 time asking if everything was to par was too much. So that is what deducted a half star on service and the overall score. I would of gave them a 4.5 star. So lunch is served from 11 – 2. Make it worth your time to come by during those times to had at least half off.

We ate at Fogo De Chao, restaurant was nice, food service was great and the choices were favorable. Our server was above and beyond. However, when we got to the front door, no one was there to greet us. We waited at least 2 minutes to get greeted and sat. They need paper towels in the restrooms. In the restrooms you’ll find Dyson blower dryers, where you have to insert your hands. Those things are nasty! Overall I think Sauma Gaucha is a better Resturant in that they don’t miss a beat, the servers actually put the table napkin on your laps and treat you like royalty.

My boyfriend and I had dinner reservations for Valentine’s day and we both had a wonderful time! This was my first time dining at this restaurant, but my boyfriend had eaten here previously for a bachelor party. The traffic downtown for Valentine’s day was horrible so my boyfriend dropped me off while he parked the car. We ended up being pretty late for our reservation time, but the hostess was extremely flexible and kind and just told me to let them know when we were both ready to be seated. I grabbed a glass of moscato d’asti at the bar — delicious! The bartender was super generous(the wine glass was filled to the brim) and was very attentive even though she had a lot of customers. Once my boyfriend arrived, we were seated promptly at a table by the window looking into the mall. The restaurant was packed, but despite there being tons of customers, the service was incredible. Our server Roxann was awesome! She always made sure we had what we needed and at the end of the night we even received a promo card for a complimentary lunch or dinner for dining on Valentine’s day! So sweet! The salad bar had a lot of fresh ingredients and I liked that they had a variety of side dishes(mashed potatoes, crispy polenta, and caramelized bananas at the table and more at the salad bar) and the meats were nicely seasoned. My favorite was definitely the house specialty, picanha. The service was definitely worth 5 stars. My boyfriend and I felt so welcomed and appreciated by the staff. My only other experience with Brazilian steakhouses is Texas de Brazil, and I have to admit that I still prefer Texas de Brazil better based on the taste of the meats and wider variety at the salad bar, hence the reason I gave four stars for this review. However, my boyfriend and I are definitely looking forward to returning to use our complimentary meal card! Thanks Fogo de Chao!

Eating here was kind of a «bucket list» experience for me. I’ve always wanted to try it. Sounded wonderful, decadent, meaty. I liked it. Total Woman liked it. We liked it a lot. But did we love it? Well, I’d give it 3.5 stars, if half stars were an option on Unilocal. It may not be the fault of Fogo. The place is well run, the servers attentive, and God knows you get plenty to eat. The salad bar is indeed impressive, though I tried not to overdo on veggies when so many impaled former animals awaited consumption at the table. Service was solicitous, though when we would ask the roaming sword-wielding waiters for a specific item, I got the sense that after saying, «Of course,» they simply took off. So it was merely the luck of the draw, it seemed to me, that determined whether or not your requested item appeared. But hey, it wasn’t like we were starving. I ate an absurd amount of meat, and much of it was prepared well. Loved the Beef Ancho(Rib Eye), the Lombo(parmesan-encrusted pork loin) and the Linguica(sausage). But the ribs were surprisingly tough. The caramelized bananas and polenta were the best of the sides; the much-anticipated cheese bread wasn’t nearly as magical as I anticipated. That’s what I get for anticipating. We did enjoy the zero-calorie Brazilian ginger ale our waiter recommended. And the decaf we had afterward was good. Fogo de Chao’s rave reviews here tell me my experience may have been tainted by unrealistic expectations. But it reminded me, too, of something I should never allow myself to forget: I don’t need to go to an all-you-can-eat place to get all I can eat, because with the massive serving sizes at all restaurants these days, every meal is all you can eat.
