This was a major reason why I decided to launch my startup in San Antonio and I’ve met numerous other entrepreneurs here that have told me the same. No Doubt Geekdom is significantly growing the startup, innovation, and tech ecosystem in our city. Now that the construction is complete, the space looks totally amazing. With over 1,000 members, this is the place to connect with talented collaborators and get work done.

Such a cool concept! This is a community office space. You can come here and get on their wifi, use their a/c, meeting rooms, desks, etc. for a low, low monthly fee. If you’re an entrepreneur, and need a place to work, a place to meet people, this is the best. The crowd that works here is tech-knowledgeable, and can help with your computer needs. People get together here and plot their businesses. It’s a great location in the old Rand Building downtown, with their own parking garage. There’s bike parking out front, and the place is clean and well lit.

Walking through this construction questioning myself whether or not I’m I in the right spot. I see some arrows leading to a random part of the floor yet I’m not too sure if this is the right entry for Geekdom. No marked signs or indicators to let you know what floor Geekdom is even on is quite a woozy. I was also nervous I was a guest star in a pop up episode of American Horror Story: Hotel because that first floor lobby is c-r-e-e-p-y. Nothing to welcome you nor inform you where to go. The construction workers luckily were able to lead me to the right direction. So entry of Geekdom was a tad annoying but nothing to be held against. Just remember y’all 7th floor. I repeat 7th floor. For those of us who aren’t in the cool kid clique and have membership status at Geekdom, you must knock on the door to be allowed entry. Super elite style but it made me even more curious what goes on in there. After getting the 411 on this place I learned that membership if based on community office space or renting a desk. You can become a general member for $ 50 or have an assigned office(which you share with 3 other people) for $ 200. The peeps who are a part of this community are super passionate in their startups and community engagement is clearly encouraged. It was super neat to be a wallflower and see how friendly everyone was towards each other. I literally think Geekdom should have it’s own reality show because it was such a hoot seeing all that goes down here. With community office space geared towards new startups and tech companies you see so many different personalities. Geekdom offers conference rooms you can even reserve as a member. For those of us who like food… ahem Myself… they have a kitchen with fridges and even a vending machine for those who are lazy or forgot to bring their food… ahem me. If you’re not too sure if you want to pay for this month to month membership they offer free tours on Fridays! And for those who are members: you’ll get to enjoy Fermented Fridays where everyone contributes and brings beers and such. Super cool.

Awesome community office space with lots of friendly folks, meeting rooms, fridge, drinks, and a great view of the city. Lots of tables, desks, stand up workspaces, chairs. They also have shared office spaces for something more permanent. Lockers, and a shower. A place to park your bike. Lots of local meetups happen here. It’s a great community for entrepreneurs, startups, or just collaboration. Lots of talent here, and a friendly social media site for members to share information and ask questions.

Excellent place for meetups. Have been stopping by several times a month once I realized that the parking is inside the building. Have been at the old Pecan Street and Houston Street locations. Each is excellent environment to co-work for self-employee professionals. People are friendly and helpful.

If you’re an Entrepreneur in San Antonio, especially in the Tech industry, this is the place for you. Membership is lower than the cost of your own office space, and you immediately have a network of individuals to contact for ideas. True collaboration in a way that America should be all about. It takes a village to raise a child. It takes Geekdom to change the world.
