Keep small businesses afloat by shopping here — here’s why: This establishment is a fine example of strong customer service and fair prices. The main salesman(as I viewed him) is extremely knowledgeable of his inventory and is not pushy(the worst quality in a jewelry store attendant). I spent four visits and over four hours of his time before making my purchase; he was very helpful, courteous, and patient. We ended up buying our simple gold wedding bands here and hope to return for watches. The selection isn’t huge in high-end jewelry, but sufficient. More impressive is their watch selection. They house a myriad of high-end watches with an array of prices to meet consumer styles and wallets. If I had the budget, I could easily find five different watches to buy for my fiancé… that’s how good the selection is. They clearly take care in good service; I don’t see myself shopping at any of the chains around here, anymore. Overall, I am a fan of well-run, family-owned businesses. This is one to support with your investment.

Gurinskys is everything I look for in a local jewelry store. Let’s not even get into why you should shop and buy local instead of from large chains. Oh wait, let’s do just that. First off, you’re going to get a better price. Guaranteed. These aren’t salespeople working on commission; they’re small business owners keeping the doors open. Second, they have an awesomeballs personal story. The owner, Charlie, started out milking cows on his dad’s dairy farm. He saved up enough to open his own jewelry store. At the peak, he had 10 location in SA and Austin. Then one of his kids almost died in 9⁄11(!!!) and the decided to scale back to just one. HOLYSHITDIDYOUJUSTREADWHAT I WROTE?!? IFNOTGOBACKANDDOIT! And the place is littered with certificated of appreciation from places like the Wounded Warrior Foundation and the Center for the Intrepid. Third, they have their own«bar» in the store. And by that I mean a shit ton of alcohol, in plain view with a printed sign stating if the bar is open or closed. Which leads me to my next point: All of the sales associates have been there over ten years and they are all. Stone. Cold. Fucking. Crazy. You might get kissed. You might get accused of something you didn’t do. You might get a personal demonstration of how the stuff looks on an attractive young lady. It’s like a box of chocolates and it is AMAZING! I want to hang out with these people all the time! Oh yeah, final point: They source their own diamonds. They do in-house repairs. They make house calls. They have vintage jewelry. They have new jewelry. Did I mention the bar? This is literally everything you could possibly want from a jeweler and it’s all local.
