Haven at Blanco

I did not rent here due to no first floor rentals available, but really appreciated the courtesy, professionalism and detailed answers I received from the staff. It was nice to see there are apartments that have respect for potential tenants. Apartment facility was spotless, apartments clean, no trash or clutter. Very well kept premises. Our agent was Jaida and the place was packed. She treated everyone like a million dollars in spite of construction, waiting customers and last minute drop-in’s like us. If I owned a business I’d hire her for sales.

I feel like I should wait until my lease ends to review them, but I’m so excited, I can’t wait. Should something change, I can update.
My boyfriend was transferred for his job (we were in austin), and it was to be as immediate as possible. The decision was final on a Monday, so Tuesday we came to SA to search for apartments. An apartment locator gave us some suggestions, but we didn’t really like what we were seeing, or the floor plan we wanted wasn’t available for several weeks. We decided to try one last place on our list when we passed the haven and their «your new apt home» sign. We took a shot.
Jaida in the office was wonderful. We told her we wanted a three bed, but we would settle for a two if that’s all we could get in our time frame. She told us about a three bed that had just gone on the market that day. We went to look at it (the ACTUAL apartment, not a model), and the very second I walked in I knew it was right.
The apartment (third floor) has so much light in every room, especially the living room (and my office!), and that is a huge bonus for me. Also, our particular apartment faces only trees, so it is very private. The kitchen countertops are marble, with dark stained wood cabinets. The walk-​in closet in the master bath is incredible. I kept trying to take photos of it, but then I realized only a video would capture the whole thing. The bathtub has jacuzzi jets. There’s so much space in the bathroom, with drawers and all, plus a shelf behind the toilet. The carpet is good quality, and there is a trash valet service (leave your trash can outside your door by 8pm and they take it for you!)
My only complaint is that the washer and dryer are not all that modern. There is no cold wash option. But there’s nothing more convenient than having a w/​d in your home, so I’m not that worked up about it. Not enough to knock off a star.
As I said, we met them on a Tuesday and we moved in the following Tuesday. It was pretty perfect. When we were visiting the apartment, my boyfriend mentioned a stain on the carpet (I still haven’t noticed it, though). When we signed our lease and got the damage report form to fill out, the stains on the carpet were already listed. It’s a small thing, but important.
Since, every time I’ve needed help from the office it has been courteous and professional. The property is very new (about three years) and they are still making improvements, like a kick-​ass dog park and improving the exercise equipment (the treadmills have TVs).
When I went back to my last apartment to do a final cleaning, I could not believe I lived in such a horrible apartment. It didn’t seem horrible until I moved in here and finally experienced a quality apartment.
I plan to live here until we buy a house

Trust me, I am not one to like apartment complexes. As I was a law student I have threatened to sue more then apartment complexes then I can count. I have lived here for four months and love it. The community is not just gated, but also has cameras at the gates. Safety has never been an issue, which they don’t get points for because that is expected. Where they do get points is on security, I am use to living in high-​end apartments. When I lived in the Medical Center I saw a cop dealing with an apartment break-​in, domestic disturbance, or a car break-​in at least once a week. I have never seen a cop car on the property, nor a broken car window, or even hear of an issue from the office staff.
The office staff is super friendly, and generally a joy to deal with. They are friendly and extremely attentive. I tend to deal with them on a bi-​daily basis due to packages. They will sign for UPS, USPS and Fedex packages and hold them for you. Work orders are generally done in the same day, if not then the next day. The maintenance workers are very professional, they work quickly and get fix any issues. However, given that these apartments are so new issues seem rare.
One thing I appreciate, is that all of the units have fire extinguishers. Moreover, every four months they change your filter and inspect the fire extinguisher. I know it may sound crazy but I have a little pup I love dearly and it is nice to know they are taking steps to minimize a possible disaster. (For some reason San Antonio has had a lot of apartment fires as of late.)
My only issue with the complex is that it is almost too quite. I am use to knowing my neighbors and interacting with them. The residence are friendly, but their does not seem to be a lot of single people in their mid 20 to chill with. I guess I was use to my last complex which had more of a college crowd and it was great to make friends and chill with the neighbors. The apartments are defiantly nicer then most apartments in San Antonio and it is obvious that they built them without cutting corners. Overall, I give this complex my highest recommendation.

I lived here for almost a year and had an excellent experience. As someone who loathes apartment living and was very hesitant to try it, I had a great experience at The Haven.
My apartment was on the third floor corner and I never once had a problem with noise (which is a BIG apartment living issue in my mind). I always felt safe also.
The community is gated, which is a plus. In addition, the pool is lush and nice. They have small workout facility that is decent for some light cardio and a tanning booth if that floats your boat.
I’ve moved on, but would recommend these apartments in a heartbeat.
