This place is a disaster. My sister was sent there after having a mild stroke which left no damage. They are trying to strengthen her leg muscles by doing exercises and trying to walk more than she is capable of doing. She has a condition known as Myasthenia Gravis which causes weakness and drains her of energy. No one in this place seems to know the symptoms of her condition. The food they are feeding these elderly patients is not fit for dogs .They do not answer the call buttons in a timely manner. My ex husband was also there a few weeks before my sister and tried to choke himself with the telephone cords because no one came to answer his call button. It appears it is all about scamming the insurance companies.

I’ve been visiting the fantastic residents of this facility with the Blessed Members of Covenant Community Church for nearly a year now. We have been providing spiritual support to the residents of Heartland every Third Saturday and I must say I am spiritually full when I see God’s Children Black, Yellow, Brown, and White joining hands and Praising the Lord at the top of their lungs. So much that I have decided to continue coming on my own to extend my Father’s love with one of the special residents, for confidential reasons I’ll call her Cupcake. She has expressed some dissatisfaction with the food but even I know nursing home meals are devoid of seasoning and flavor. I’ve had time to spend with her at dinner and must say I can see why she left the Beets, mash potatoes purée and dry looking ham sandwich on her plate. I couldn’t imagine my sweet mother in Heaven withering away because there was no one to ensure that she was getting her nutrients but I assume that’s how it goes day to day in nursing homes. This Facility is very sanitary and I love how the residents come together for snacks, Bingo with the Navy sailors, singing and arts and crafts. Anyone visiting can tell that the Residents are loved and are well taken care of from the Pretty Hair-Dos and Painted Nails sported by the Diva Grannies. The staff brings in fresh roses weekly and shares them with the residents along with a pampered pooch that lights up the eyes of the residents especially my CupCake. I hope that my health never fades to the level of requiring a nursing home stay … But if it does I wouldn’t mind being a resident here as long as the food is upgraded, I have my own room with cable like my Cupcake and I can enjoy Chinese, Soul Food and Seafood at my Leisure — :)
