STAYAWAY! They are unprofessional and uncaring. Also they take forever to do any transactions, drive-thru or inside. My father banked with IBC for 15 years and when he got dementia and messed his account up with 2 overdrafts, they refused to help him out by reducing or waiving any of the outrageous fees, even though he had never had any overdrafts before. Instead they closed his account and threatened to turned him over to collections. I tried to intervene on his behalf and even though I was a cosigner on his account they wouldn’t return my phone calls.

Finally was able to close this dumb account after waiting ages on the telephone. I inquired about the inactivity fee: the rep said that I was told no fees existed when I opened the account because IBC assumed I’d be using the account regularly and they take 5.00 out every month until the balance hits 0 so they can close your account after 3 months of this happening… It was extremely satisfying telling him I transferred out the entire balance to a better banking corporation leaving them with 0 balance to charge me dumb fees with. Turns out you have to go in person to the place you opened the bank at if you have a 0 balance and sign some stupid survey. OR you can just let your account be inactive for 3 months and they close it. This is by far one of the most idiotic policies I’ve ever heard of. AREYOUSERIOUS? I told the rep that it doesn’t cost them money to inform the customer properly about the fees associated account activity and he didn’t have an answer. Good riddance, I thought Chase was a horrible bank. It turns out Chase is immaculate compared to this sorry excuse for a financial institution.
