Pretty awful! I absolutely love Kate’s frosting so I was excited to give this place a shot but to my dismay the café came up less than average. My sisters and I had lunch here. The ambiance was shabby chic. Mismatched girlie furniture, very cozy. I had the Roast beef & Colby Jack sandwich. While my sisters had the chicken sandwich and the BLT each with a cup of tomato soup. I paid eight dollars for a average sandwich and iced tea which I could have simply made at home. Total our lunch came out to $ 36 which is not cheap! My sisters complained that the soup was cold and the sandwich was bland. The iced tea I ordered tasted as if the tea brewed too long & was burnt. I hate to say but the best part of my lunch was the bag of Baked Doritos that the sandwich can with. Needless to say I’ll just stick to Kate’s awesome cupcakes!

I wasn’t sure what to expect at Kate’s next door, as the adjoining cupcake shop is fairly small. It was pleasantly suprising. It’s the size of a small café, with tables that have comfy booths. There is also a patio outside with wrought-iron tables. When I walked in, I started eyeing the chalk board for what was available. The special of the day was a chicken salad sandwich with a mini cupcake for $ 7.95. Sounded good to me. They had a selection of different types of sandwiches, salads, and a soup of the day. I asked about tea drinks, and today it was a raspberry tea. It was so tasty that I gulped it down in about 5 minutes. Should have ordered 2! Anyhow, my chicken salad was typically good slightly toasted on wheat bread with fresh red tomatoes and greens. I just wish Kate’s next door had more side options. I think I only saw chips and the soup. Maybe some potato salad? Fruit cup? I would also like to see a quiche of the day, since we know Kate has mad baking skills. This is a great place for a light lunch or for a snack on the patio, maybe eventually they will also add wifi? Maybe??? Please…

Had the chicken salad sandwich and a cup of the tomato basil soup. it was delicious! I really like this place, its in a nice area and the people that work there are really nice. The only thing that I guess I could complain about are the prices but other then that I would defiantly recommend this place to anyone

Today was my first trip to Kate’s happening on Main street. I say this because she also has a cupcake shop two stores down. I enjoyed my visit as I got to chat with a regular customer who was extremely helpful. You should hire her on as a greeter! The selection of food was pretty minimal. The menu was just a page. I chose the veggie sandwich on wheat, had it toasted and added cream cheese. The bread was delightful! I loved every bite of my sandwich. The regular customer was enjoying an egg salad sandwich that I anticipate on trying out next time. I’m not sure how long the business has been open, but there wasn’t a lot of structure to it. Maybe 1 oclock was a slow time for the place. If it wasn’t for the regular, I wonder how I would’ve been greeted. I’ll be sure to update from my next visits. I’m curious to see what drink options they have other than canned beverages.

Standard sandwhich shop. Kate’s Next Door has a great thing going for it — the fact that Kate’s Frosting is right next door and has some delicious cupcakes. Kate’s Next Door offers a variety of sandwhichs, salads and soup. I like that you can order half sandwhiches. To sample their offerings, I tried half a chicken salad sandwhich, half an egg salad sandwhich and a cup of potato soup. Everything was good but is VERY plain. You need to add salt and pepper to everything. The food will need some work to make this place a huge success. Kate’s Next Door has great potential to add more stars once it has been opened longer and the cooks get more prepared. I will try it again in a month or so. But the best thing is that you get a free cupcake with your order! Huge plus!
