Remarkably bad. Almost ten minutes to be acknowledged, my wife’s water glass was dirty. We were served no chips or salsa. We had the Mexican plate with a taco, a tamale and an enchilada, and a botana salad with chicken and beef. The only good things were the flour tortillas, which were delicious. Everything else was tasteless, even the green salsa that we asked for. It was as though it was a spice free dinner. My wife’s salad had tough nasty beef and bones in the chicken. Eventually the waitress, who was working as hard as she could, asked how things were and I said, «awful.» She took $ 2 of the bill. This is all the more amazing because the other Las Palapas we have eaten at have been delightful. We will never return to this one.

Stale and cold chips. Out waiter paid no attention to us at all. Thankfully another waiter saw how we were being treated and took care of us. Enchiladas were ok at best but we will not return. Seems like a place where people only go when drunk.

I used to love this Las Palapas and used to come here alot since it’s close to home. Went for an early lunch about a month ago. They only had a few other customers in the restaurant, but one big table of HEB employees. I asked the waiter if it was okay to order off the lunch menu since it was only ~10:00 a.m. They said«no problem, order anything you want.» So I ordered an enchilada plate. I didn’t have to wait very long, but when the food did come it was ice cold. The chips were stale and nothing really tasted fresh. My bill was ~$ 10 plus a tip(which I shouldn’t have even left). Very sad to see this place go down hill. What happened?

I eat here often most everything on the menu is pretty crappy I really don’t care for any of that food. The four stars come completely from the CHICKENSOUP !!! That SOUP is incredible WOW I only eat the soup from there it truly is the BEST !

Some of the best tacos ive ever had. Its hard for me to give San Antonio credit being from houston lololol but there tacos are waaaay better then houston this is a great place to go for breakfast tacos. Bean and cheees, carne casada, potato and egg, bacon and egg, and chorizo and egg.

Place wasn’t to busy when we pulled up my girlfriend and I. It was Sunday around noon and I wanted flautas and this is our place. It had been raining all week and including today. We could see water dripping from the ceiling tiles onto the floor by a near by table but they did have a caution sign so high five for safety Sam. Other than that food was good we have had better but no complaints. We will be back I’m sure.

We decided to have some lunch on the way home from the doctors on Saturday. Well first it took a while for a waitress to come take our order and when she did she was a little in a hurry like give me your order so i can go get the next table that just walked in. When we received our order she brought out our tacos that were wrong so she checked her ticket i guess to see what we ordered and sure enough she entered the wrong food. Never got a ticket had to walk up and pay and pointing to the table we sat at so we can leave. Very unhappy i guess we can scratch off another restaurant off our list.

This place has good food at a great price. We go there for breakfast mainly and its always come out delicious. I had lunch there once and it was good. I dont recommend the coffee though. It is the only terrible thing ive tasted there. My husband orders the menudo and loves it. I always get chilaquiles and they are great every time. The service is good and the food comes out pretty quickly.

A step up from Taco Bell this place tries to bring Mexican street food in with out the flavor. You definitely get the family feel as part of your experience but definitly lacks the authenticity that you would expect from restaurant that is so close to the motherland. Basically this is Mexican food for white people. Latinos… go elsewhere lol

Not as good as the one on Blanco and West Ave. Service is slow and food was just ok. If you’re a man you get paid more attention to as I’m watching my waitress doting on the male customers. I’ve had to call her over twice.

My go to place late at night! Cant speak for how the service is when it is busy but its cheap and quick. My food usually comes out in around 5 minutes. There tacos are cheap and packed with meat. Me and my girlfriend’s total usually comes out between 10 – 15 bucks and I leave full. Love this place! The staff is really nice and friend.

I would rate this with no stars if I could. I used to LOVE Las Palapas. It was always my «Go To» for mexican food. Until last night… I ordered the BOWL of tortilla soup to go. Total came out to $ 7.52. I get the order and the container the soup came in was probably no taller than a soda can. I thought they gave me the cup so I asked the lady at the window and she said«no that’s the bowl, its 16 ounces»! I was super shocked by the look of it. So I take it home and pour it into a bowl. It was literally nothing but broth, ONE clump of nasty dark meat chicken, ONE slice of avocado, a scoop of rice, and a pinch of cheese. Literally the MOSTHORRIBLE experience ever with Las Palapas. I will have to say I will most likely never come back here for tortilla soup ever again! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!

No corn tortillas at this Mexican restaurant. I thought the waiter was joking! They probably sell tortillas across the street at Valero. C’mon.

It’s been a while since we’ve been to this location. It’ll be longer before we coma back. Service was ok, but the food was unseasoned and boring. The fajitas were dry and had no flavor. The salsa had no bite. And the puffy tacos weren’t puffy.

My first time here, and I hit up the drive-thru for breakfast tacos. There was quite a line, but the wait wasn’t as long as I anticipated. I got 2 tacos: 1 chorizo and egg, and 1 sausage and egg. When I got my order, I saw that one of the tacos was wrapped in foil and also in a plastic bag. That was my first clue that grease was in my future. I started with the sausage and egg taco, and was somewhat surprised to find that the sausage was the kielbasa/hot link variety, not the ground pork type I had expected. Other than the tortilla being slightly burnt, the taco was pretty good. The chorizo taco was a nightmare. I’ve had chorizo at tons of places, and I’ve cooked it myself many times. I know it can be messy. But this taco was literally soaked in grease. I could only force down a couple of bites, and the rest went in the garbage. I couldn’t even bring myself to feed it to my dog. To top it all off, the salsa tasted like Pace picante. I won’t be returning.

Food is good. The menudo was the best I’ve taisted in the area. They make their own corn tortillas and it shows in their enchiladas. I got a bite of cheese enchiladas from my husband and they were very good. We came because other Mexican food places were closed and we are glad we did. The waitstaff was nice. We will definitely go back.

This is my first time eating at Las Palapas. For a first time, and from out of town, Las Palapas really exceeded my expectations. Staff was nice and courteous with a great smile on and warm welcome. Food was extremely excellent and served fast. I had the breakfast tacos which were amazingly delicious. A recommendation for dessert is their chocoflan. This is a must eat for anyone craving really great Mexican.

I love you Las Palapas! I live out of town, so when I visit San Antonio I always need to pop into Las Palapas for some carne guisada. We went during lunch and the lunch plate was soooo big that I only ate half. It was so good!
